- Traveling East to West, this is crossing #7 along CSX's 2 main tracks in the Great Lakes Division/Indianapolis Subdivision in Muncie, Indiana.
It includes a Norfolk Southern Main Track in the Lake Division, that is both New Castle and Frankfort Subdivisions.
This was the 14th crossing northbound on the New Castle Subdivision single track main inside the city limits.
This crossing was closed as part of the quiet zone initiative.

This crossing sees and average of 36 trains a day between the two RR companies.
Maximum timetable speed:
CSX: 30 M.P.H., 25-30 is typical;

I miss still to this day, the old fashion " pivot gate lanterns" on the old 2 plank gates. The black and white diagonal strips as well.
great video wisecrac99 so this grade crossing is closed now when did this rail/road crossing closed to road traffic ?
CRSWW RAIL FAN RXR it was closed due to a new Marriott hotel being built downtown and then watching a quiet zone apparently the city thought it was a good idea to close multiple of these crossings off which honestly is one of the worst things they’ve done in the history of the city.
