I use matte acrylics to customize my Illo sketchbooks, and I’ve customized about 4 of the covers so once I finish my 4th sketchbook I’ll be able to do my 5th!
*Jel Arts* : *Uploads* *Me* : *Takes out sketchbook and a blunt pencil* "Get ready, dear me! Here comes inspiration" Love you so much. 💕💕💕 I'm overflooded with inspo! Thanks a lot.
Picking mushrooms is really cool, my grandparents often take my on mushroom picking with them, the best way to recognize a good mushroom is after the brown color and sponge on the bottom ^^
Wow, I haven’t watched your videos in a while and I just remembered how much I love watching your videos. I used to comment like 30minutes after you uploaded and i some how lost track of this and almost forgot how calming your videos are. I can’t wait to binge your content again!❤️
lately you're my favorite artist because your videos are so soothing? i dont know how to explain it but watching your videos, watching you draw and stuff gives me a lot of motivation to draw as well
Put down 2 dots parallel from each other at varying distances & practice connecting them in a single stroke. Draw something with a single continuous line, not lifting the pen/pencil until the drawing is completed. Google continuous line drawing to get and idea of what I mean. These 2 practices as well as drawing directly in pen like jel mentioned can help with having more confidence in your linework. Try to be intentional with the lines you're putting down.
Here's some quick and easy advice I literally just discovered! Hold the pencil about 3-4 inches from the tip, as opposed to strangling the point. It's super scary at first and feels like you have no control, but it INSTANTLY makes your lines a lot more natural and organic! Hope I could be of some help :)
I only recently discovered your channel and I must say that I really like your artstyle/artwork. It has this warm, natur-y feel to it. Keep it up :) Edit: Thanks for the heart
What exactly is the difference between regular acrylics and acrylic gouache? Also I like customizing the cover, it makes me want to grab the sketchbook more! Your frog is, as usual, adorable :)
The aquarium is looking great and your fish are lovely. 😊 I just got a selection pack of Mod-Podge (everything from standard Mod-Podge for paper to a tough sealant for outdoor projects) so I'm going try it on my sketchbooks first. 😊 I love the frog, he looks like he's got a story to tell with his little back-pack. 😊
heyy jel! i was just wondering... are you going to add anything to your shop anytime soon? everything on there is sold out at the moment and i’ve been really wanting a few things from there for a while now. :))
LOL omg I have those same type of lights for product photos XD. I got mine off wish though. I guess I shouldn't be surprised i'm not the only one that has them, but i find it funny because I just gone mine too and I happen to watch this video today. I know u got yours back in feb, but any who.
Ila Dayaneni you can always buy plain white gouache and mix it with watercolors to make ‘gouache’ or ‘the fine touch’ had some fairly cheap gouache that’s good quality!
BACKPACK FROG RETURNS AHHHH is this him? The Best Boy ???? or a second, more powerful backpack frog? :0 [excited wriggling] **backpack frog journal page**
Mycology is really neat. My mom and grandma would take me mushroom hunting when I was younger, I only know some that are edible and aome that are not. Love how the frog turned out on the cover. Thank you for inspiring me.
hey! love the video. also can i use regular gouache on my sketchbook cover? like the one that activates when in contact with water and then later on spray fixate? :D
Loved this video and I can't wait to see more!! ❤️ Thank you for sharing your lightning set up, i'm looking for something similar for my videos since the my flat doesn't have the right light for recording, but It's hard to find something on budget! Do you (everone who is reading this) know any lighting that works but that is in low budget? 🤔
Awesome as always I have always just put lots of stickers on my covers. Next time I'm going to try to paint on it. Nice.😁 Also is that chai tea ☕ I 👀.!
Ooo I love it! I think I'll have to do that to mine... Except ... then I'd probly just want to take the cover off so it wouldn't get scratched up... Hmm.. dilemma.
I never custom paint my sketchbook because I know the paint gonna rub off over time. But I do put a sticker on the front side of the cover to make it look less like a bible (yeah moleskine especially black cover ones look kinda like bible)
Do you customize your sketchbook cover or leave it plain?
JelArts i try to customize it but fail lol
I use matte acrylics to customize my Illo sketchbooks, and I’ve customized about 4 of the covers so once I finish my 4th sketchbook I’ll be able to do my 5th!
I never customized my sketchbooks before but I'll be doing this someday.
Sugarcube 7 I think you should! The worse thing that could happen is you messing up or you not liking it, I recommend it since it’s really fun
@@commitco3213 Thanks

In my part of Canada today, it's so much warmer than usual!
I’m not in canada but it’s also pretty cold here and I just came home from jogging. Super excited to get a blanket and paint along✨

Your videos are keeping me company while I'm doing my Art coursework so thank you!!
Hi I love your art! You always inspire me to do something amazing in my art. Thankyou for that
How do you draw with such smooth lines? Mine commonly look very scratchy and I don’t know how to avoid that ;-;
I found that drawing with marker or pen can help with line confidence!
JelArts cool! Thx :) I’ll make sure to use that in the future.

You should draw something and do a voice over of any stories you have, like a childhood story

I love your painting style 🙉

Mike Daily Maybe you could cover it with some sort of protective seal?🍩
@@ausflybaby That's a good idea. And actually, If I get a good photo of it before it's messed up, I guess that will help too.

What does the back look like? (The stickers part)
such a happy little frog :)
nice designs 👍
I love froggies💚 and I love your painting of this little guy. I'm curious, what is your major in university?
The stamp sticker is in style
What kind of procreate brushes did you use.
I was using the watercolour max pack!
JelArts okay, thank you.
😀
Girl do you go to Sheridan because I swear I’ve seen your work around

I'm thinking I might spray mine with some protective spray!
Are you going to make a sticker of this little guy - I'd buy it in a heartbeat, he came out so freakin' cute!!
I love how I'm not the only one who puts tape over their front camera on their tablet 😂
Love this! What school are you attending right now?
Sorry, that's classified :)
@@JelArts That's a shame, really wanted to look into their programs after seeing your class work.
For my birthday I would love to be a patreon!
