Toyota / Lexus V6 1MZ-FE Starter Motor Replacement (Video performed on 2000 Lexus RX300)

- The 1MZ-FE engine series is used in the V6 powered Camry, Avalon, Highlander, RAV4, Sienna, Solara, ES300 & RX300. This video will show you how to replace a starter motor on a 2000 Lexus RX300 with Toyota's 1MZ-FE V6 engine. Therefore the replacement procedure is virtually identical with minor differences. The model years are as follows:

Hey Eddie, how did it go? I just left my car at the parking lot of the Sushi place my wife and I ate, food was great, not starting car sucked... pretty sure it's the starter. I have no experience on fixing stuff but I would like to try. What do you think, doable or not?
What if my Starter just went out of no where? I turned off my lexus rx300 & didnt want to start again. Without any sounds, When i try to start it i here a loud one click in the middle

One of your easier jobs, those are nice to have sometimes. Looks like the same basic procedure for most 3.0 V6 , maybe the 3.3L as well? on many Toyota/Lexus transverse, front wheel drive engines. Great video for the DIYer. Thank you.

How do you diagnose a bad starter again ?
Obvious way is a fully charged battery won't get the starter motor to turnover. You'll also hear clicking noises. Keep cycling the ignition multiple times and maybe the car will start. Starter turns over too slowly.
would you say the 1mz is your favorite motor to work on
Its probably the 3MZ motor? They are very similar motors. The 1MZ was more common in the Toyota's, Camry, Avalon, Solara. That would be great video idea 💡

It's a 1MZ but doesn't make much difference compared to the 3MZ.
@@dsimp765 The Toyota 4 cylinder 5SFE is really easy to work on. Everything is in your face. Alternator, a/c compressor, ignition wires, spark plugs, valve cover gasket, etc.

Sir what is the brand name of new starter ?
For parts like starters and alternators, I prefer to buy store brands with lifetime warranties. If the part goes bad, I can get a replacement quickly anywhere in the country (I.e. advance auto, oreilleys, autozone). The OEM brand for Toyota is Denso or Aisin.
