Thankyou for helping this baby deer. I did the same for 2 orphan squirrels this last spring and I let them go in a safe area and it made me happy because I gave them a chance when there was no chance. I would like to do this for a living but seems not many people care. I pull over when I see turtles crossing the road and I pick them up and carry them to safety. It bothers me more than most people can understand when I see roadkill. I live in a wooded area and drive slow in those areas. I try to do as much as I can for all animals.
I too am an animal lover. People are mean vicious animals but wildlife and other animals bugs they're different. They are what they are they're innocent.
Deer fawns are so cute. When I see videos with fawns, because I've seen a bunch, I often wonder if the person who took the fawn didn't wait it out enough and ended up causing it to become an orphan? Not sure just saying. Thankfully the fawn appeared to be cared for. And Bob, that's nice what you do with the turtles & then 2 baby squirrels. Last year in the spring we bought a small "HAV A HEART" cage to catch the baby squirrel that went from our attic to the basement. Don't ask... We had put peanuts but it didn't get caught because it was only eating the peanuts that we left as a little trail outside the cage. I even played squirrel sounds from my cell phone. We moved all the peanuts in the cage only going forward and we put a slice of an apple hanging off a string in the cage. It was very calm even though in the cage & when we checked & saw we got it, we took it outside and released it. The apple did the trick. I think it took about two weeks to get the squirrel outside. I saw on our doorbell camera the next day that it came back near our front door. OMG, it was back for snacks...? When I'm outside & it hears my voice it stops and stares at me sometimes...
