Hello jim. I have been your subscriber back then, I hope we'll have our transaction together soon. I'm a fan of your demo thanks! Regards from philippines.
Some digital Audio Systems - they use Burr-Brown chips to sample the audio, at about 196 kbits/second - require shielded Cat 6 cable. They enable standard{?} managed switches to send audio around a building, (an auditorium for instance), Momentum Systems comes to mind...
Thanks for all you do Jim ! I appreciate you giving back. I shop at Cablesupply.com exclusively because of your contributions. Please keep up the good work !
HI, Thank you for your excellent sharing of knowledge. I have a question. You talked about "plenum" as a space overhead between the dropped ceiling and roof in the special case wherein the return air is not ducted back to the air conditiioner. How about the case in which you have a space under the floor of the working space. Assume it is a normal height cellar with cement floor but without any finish work or studed walls. Assume there is no AC being actively ducted to that space but there is air probably being sucked up into the working space above the ceiling of the cellar Is that cellar space, under the floor considered a "plenum"

Cat6A supports speeds up to 10 Gigabit Ethernet with distance up to 100 meters (10,000 Mb/s)(500 MHz); Cat7 & Cat7A support speeds up to 10 Gigabit Ethernet with distance up to 100 meters (10,000 Mb/s)(1000 Mhz) ;Cat7 implements fully shielded twisted wires, called Screen Shielded Twisted Pair (SSTP) or Screened Foiled Twisted Pair (SFTP) wiring, resulting in higher performance levels. Fiber optic cables are becoming increasingly popular as bandwidth limitations change. Fiber optic cabling is an extremely efficient alternative with the capability to run across long distances.
I think the word your looking is cable jacket vs cable coating. Great video as usual.
YES your right! I was having a brain burp
I learned so much in just a couple of videos - thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks Jim, great professional explanation thumbs up!
Great Video Mr. Gibson. Learnt so many things. Thank you so much
This is a really great video, thank you.
Glad you liked it!

Great info as always! I had no idea that air ducting defined the plenum type.
1 pair? Coax? Mr Jim has seen some things... He worked in the history books of the internet.

Recycle....recycle centers will pay for scrape copper.
Hi everyone, i have a question! is the EZ RJ45 Connectors a brand or a kind of RJ45 connectors ??
Jim did you ever install any thicknet with the drilled taps? I've read about them but never seen one.
Yes back in the 80s. I don't remember much about that.
What are the differences between Cat 6A and Cat 7?
Cat6A supports speeds up to 10 Gigabit Ethernet with distance up to 100 meters (10,000 Mb/s)(500 MHz);
Cat7 & Cat7A support speeds up to 10 Gigabit Ethernet with distance up to 100 meters (10,000 Mb/s)(1000 Mhz) ;Cat7 implements fully shielded twisted wires, called Screen Shielded Twisted Pair (SSTP) or Screened Foiled Twisted Pair (SFTP) wiring, resulting in higher performance levels.
