It is when a proper guitar player reaches for a cheap bad-mouthed no good (or so they say) guitar, and throws that “clear coat” of talent on top.... that I really get that drawn smile up my face. Merci, monsieur.
Both fascinating. The reason I bought a gretsch is the single coil pick up + only one control. I need no more options. The sound is great in both ways. Thank you.
Nobody commented on the fact that we have a lefty playing a right-handed guitar upside down. And he didn't even restring it. Learning to play that way must have been interesting.
I love my New Yorker. It’s probably my favorite guitar I own. That said I only have 4 guitars. Two electric and two acoustics including the New Yorker which is electric-acoustic
You played great and the guitars sound good, but you never once stated the melody of the song you posted. I could not tell what song it was. Otherwise good video.
+Marek Tokarcik It sure is- but it doesn't sound like every other Asian guitar. It's completely hollow, and with the solid spruce top has a more vintage classic hollow body archtop tone both unplugged and plugged in. You missed my point. Completely.

Was the first thing I noticed! Bravo!
excellent playing

Big tone orange for me ha ha !
Goes to show I have cloth ears. Both beautiful in the hands of a hep cat player.
Tres bien !

The New Yorker is definitely a good choice. 2 in 1. Both excellent. :-)
The Gretsch sounds richer in my Ear but the HB sounds quiet good for that pricerange.
For a classic rich jazz sound the Gretch New Yorker wins, hands down. And impressive for the price.
Both sound great, also 2 different pickups make a difference. HB is about 1/3 the price btw.

Very impressing!

Wow a rare lefty, with upside down righty guitars ! Ad yes, I'll take the Gretsch...M
La quelle tu prefferes?
Grétsch slightly warmer and more woody sounding .. The Harley Benton has a more modern sound to my ear , I prefer it
Gretsch!
theres almost no diference. the gretsch sounds a little more.... mellow
The Gretsch. All day long. The Benton sounds like a typical Chinese or Korean Samick.
+Glen Rappold G9555 is Manufactured in China, mate

The Gretsch is Indonesian, I think Samick too.
