I've had this problem with multiple of my printers. Tried different firmwares even klipper with it's pressure advanced control with no luck. It's frustrating to learn that all I needed to do was click one box in Cura. Thanks for showing me the solution to the problem I've had for years.
I've been dealing with this lately on larger prints. Like you, i went and changed the percent of overlap to the outer wall with no change in the print. When I get home today from work I'm going to look for that setting you mentioned and see if that finally clears up my infill showing through my walls! This will greatly reduce sanding and priming/filling my prints to remove this annoying look! Thanks for the video!
I realised this lines while printing calibration speed tower, noticed some models printed before was same issue at some walls. Now time to investigate other issues. Retraction distance was previous.
Thanks! I've had this exact problem on my first benchy. I'm new to 3D printing, but I think this should probably be _off_ if you want the walls to look perfect (like here), but _on_ if strength is more important than looks, and to maybe help with overhangs. And if something needs to be strong _and_ look good then have it turned on, and just clean up the outside afterwards.
My Benchy got really noticeable zits on the surface. Not sure what to tune in this case (the video suggests some "slicer tweaking"). Everything else was pretty much spot on. I appreciate the help!
sounds like over extrusion issue. when the nozzle retracts and travels it primes itself to start a new run and sometimes it lets out an initial blob at the start of each run. that little blob is usually what causes those zits on the outer surface. you obviously don't want a blob at the beginning of each run. play around with your flow, priming, and retraction settings. that should fix it. Cura has prime blob setting as well called "enable prime blob" which I think might help. but also do your own research on the matter im not 100% on this.
I've never had this problem before so I was intrigued to see what the issue might be. Turns out all my previous printing defaulted to perimeters before infill (Slic3r and derivatives default). Now I see what happens if I would reverse it, so if someone comes to me with this issue I have a solution to check with them. Thanx for teaching me something new. :-)
this also drove me crazy until I found this setting from someone on reddit. so wack that it's set by default. until i realized i could change that setting I used to just make my wall count higher so the walls were thicker and the lines wouldn't show. but that's just a waste of filament.
Even 4 years after this came out, this video helped me, so thank you

TLDW: Turn off "Infill Before Walls" which is Cura default.
Tried it and it indeed fixed the infill visible through the walls 👍

any luck with it?

You have just helped me to eliminate this problem.
Thank you
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I just did my first bigger print and had this issue! this info saved me a lot of frustration! 🎉

You helped me bud. Thanks.
Thank you for this video. It seems that the Wanhao i3 default cura config has this on by default. Disabling it gives improved prints. Thank you!
Thank you so much I couldn't figure out what was causing this problem.
I use creality and this setting is turned off already and I still get these lines what do I do?
I'm having the same issue! This video just made me more frustrated lol!
Thanks man, you really helped
Helped me a lot!
How do I get smooth horizontal lines on surface instead of rough diagonal lines? Thank you
Thank you for making this video
Nice! What about layers lines how to remove

Great info. New subscriber. Thanks.

Thank you
YOU ARE THE BES T WOOO
Well mine is able to be seen on the walls and I checked my settings and it is not checked already so I'm not sure what the problem is
my hero
Anyone know what setting to change if you were having this issue but on the top layer? Is that a temperature issue?
i've had this problem for like a year and i didnt mind it tho as i was mostly printing practical parts still usefull to know tho thanks!
amazing...!!!!
Thanks...!
What happens when you have these lines and you already had that setting unchecked?
I think Cura should make a new setting in their program called print ugly horizontal lines before the pretty ones.😁
Helped me
This help me a lot , thx man
Thanks...this solved my issue.
for me i got thing on ine thing i was printin and im going to change the setting for future
I have a blobbing or zit situation on my prints I use cura what should I change to fix it?
