What adds to the heat is having that black top parking lot. I think the pea gravel may be a better choice, but gets all over the place. Black top coating holds in the heat. In the summer when i walk at the school down the street from me even in the evening when the sun goes down, my feet heat up from walking on that hot black top coating. I love the drive in. I get very anxious in crowds and i ammore comfortable sitting in the comfort of my car to watch movie. I have a small ac unit and a large power inverter, snd big battery bank that i keep in trunk. I can cool my car to a comfortable 72 degrees. Unit is quiet, and dont need to run my car. Battery bank will run ac unit for about 6 hours. The key to making it work efficient is using your cars ac until you get there. I set it all way down to 65 degrees, by time i arrive at drive in car is already cooled to 67 or 68 depending on outdoor temp. Once i arrive. I quickly get portable ac going, then i turn off my car engine. The portable will maintain a cabin temp of 70 to 72 degrees mostly 72 on a 85 degree evening. To give me that 1960s nostolgic drive in feeling. I purchased some vintage drive in speakers on ebay, put in new high quality speakers, and rewired. Took apart a small fm radio, disconnected right and left speakers, and wired a vintage spesker box to left, and one to right channel.. place radio under seat, and place one speaker on left back window, and one on right side back window. Gives me stereo quality sound from vintage retro drive in speakers, and just gives it that overall nostolgic drive in feeling. All this is easy to set up, and well worth it for a double feature. I try to patrognize the concession stand as i feel by giving them money for food it helps them to keep the place open. I do brink some food from home, but try to get a few things there as well. I love the drive in. I never go to an indoor theater. Cant rdmember last time i visited a regular indoor theater.
@@kingsofvegas777 didnt love it. The picture on screen was a little dark so tough to see screen. Also my car does not have option to turn off chime when tuning into the fm station in park. Thought my battert might go dead. I would go again def in diff car though. Weather was nice too.
