this track is super fun to ride but i often find it really hard to overtake, feels like most of the people there are either extremely violent for no reason or take up the whole track by not being aware.
I have found that one thing sorts out the bumper car weaving public, as you pass them and with their eye contact give them the Alonso naughty naughty finger wave "side to side pointing finger wave". Found it works 100%. "Everyone should try it and they don't know if your a marshall or a member racing with them.
Great vid! We had a similar experience at harlow on a public session, people were (not literally) killing themselves into the barriers, we avoided some potential painful contacts.. after the race we were told at the bar to slow down.. 3 of us, all memembers, during BIKC qualifying season, we were there to try and set some times. We didn't go back
@@jp-sn6si no, karting fatalities are rare. The only fatality in recent years was in a 50mph outdoor kart and was complete driver error. He stopped in the middle of a straight during a green flag, the kart behind was looking behind due to someone trying to make a move from a better exit. The collision happened and the stopped kart didn't survive. personally this is why i avoid indoor public sessions, speed difference is deadly, and knowing how to race is just as important. also things like don't slam on the breaks in the Centre of a straight don't make it through to some people who are trying to drive like its need for speed, break checking and such. you expect to see incidents at corners, so eyes ahead, but straights are far more deadly as its when you take the chance to spin around and gauge the kart behind due to no rear view mirrors. despite the cautionary tale, its still insurmountable rare for deaths to occur in any motorsports these days, outside of isle of man TT
@@SuperSocks7 what about formula v, those little cars go like 100mph on real tracks and they seem pretty barebones as far as safety features. deaths are relatively rare there as well?
@@jp-sn6si actually yes, due to their comparatively low speed, and low weight. I don’t know of any deaths in that category at all, but even though they look bare bones drivers are strapped in tight and the HANS device saves any of the head movement. The low weight means low inertia, helps with the crashes being quite dramatically less catastrophic. The chassis of course has crumple zones built in too. Most modern motorsport deaths are from cases of negligence, or a series of unpredictably unfortunate events. Or SPA, that corner remains lethal to this day.
My take on the marshalling was that the other guy got black flagged, who probably blamed it on you, and being a mixed ability public event they played on the side of caution and gave you a warning (they don't know if you're fuming on adrenaline at that point so no harm in a polite "cool off"), then saw that he was still being a tool and black flagged him conclusively... so fair play to the marshals, that's reasonable when there's so much chaos going on.
Well I think that that dude's black flag was right, holy damn what was this guy doing 😅 I love the video's so much bro, really! So fun to watch (and learn!) ❤🔥
Hello, I think you're a bit too much agressiv , I mean by that , that you take the inside line to past somebody, you are often hitting a bit them, and youself, you have wrote on the video many times the mistake you made, I say that for you to have a better looking by others when you go out the kart. But the rest of the video is really great you're driving very well.
Nice video i found it entertaining. I’ve enjoyed go Karting for many years and also marshalled for many. I’ve learnt there’s always some thuggery. Tbf it’s sometimes easier to have a polite chat with everyone just to keep the peace. That guy clearly didn’t like being lapped though. 😂👏 🏁👍
Harlow is a fun physical track to learn a bit of racecraft but beyond that, not worth visiting. Good for kids and anyone new to karting. Same for all indoor tracks tbh. Races are either like this, new or inexperienced racers frustrated by faster karts or everyone on the track is so similarly paced it becomes a train, no one gets a decent lap and the race is down to who gets the clearest track in quali. Plus inexperienced marshalls, the Teamsport staff turnover is insane. Kart quality is an issue too. I was member, have done 1000s of laps @ Harlow and we travelled around the country. It used to be good value (£25 membership, free race and then £20 member races on a Monday night). Good for the winter months. But when they put the prices up in 2019 we stopped going, its not worth it. Rye house is just down the road, you can do the 45 min GP for £55.
Funnily enough I went to Rye House before coming here, only reason why I came here is because I was invited 😅 but you're right, most, if not all, TeamSport tracks are like this, even the members races, you'll just get people bashing their way past if they're faster like its their right to do so 😂 but unfortunately with TeamSport's monopoly in the indoor karting market its not going to stop anytime soon 😅
I had a person once when I was at Teamsport Dundee go ultra fucking slow during green flags, and full pace during yellow flags, hitting into the back of everyone, and nothing was done about it. Quite funny looking at this.
I have been black flagged falsely once for ramming someone, but in fact it was the other kart's fault for turning into me when he was alongside, this resulting in me hitting the kerb, and spinning him around. But I got black flagged and they shouted at me. DO NOT HIT PEOPLE WHEN OVERTAKING
haha, similar thing happened to me when I went to Watford. One day I was booking a session for dunstable just to realise that its fully booked, so we found the next closest one which is watford. Don't get me wrong the staff were friendly but they black flagged me twice. Once was for an accident I didn't cause. This guy cut me off when I tried to overtake causing me to bump into him, and boom, black flag. I told the marshal how I didnt cause the accident and he went like "I know, I know". If you know, why did you black flag me? Second time was because I bumped into the barrier. The upstairs is very grippy which won't prepare you for downstairs which just feels like racing on ice. Very slippery track causing me to bump into the barriers then causing me to get a black flag. I recently heard that they replaced it so it isnt as slippery because it absolutely sucked as it didnt provide a full race.
Unfortunately they do seem to be a bit trigger happy with black flags, I was told after by one of the regulars that they do go mad with black flags. Unfortunately it just is what it is, better to just go in and just ignore it, then continue with full sends 😅
Sorry completely random but I once got a cheeky overtake in a yellow flag what should I have done so here’s what the scenario was So I pull up wheel to wheel but then it goes yellow flag and there is a kart in front of us and me and this other kart are fighting for the position very slowly and he makes a mistake and goes very wide so I win the position should I have conceded the position or not?
If he's made the mistake then definitely no need to conceed the position, unless you intentionally went to overtake him under the yellow, which by the sounds of it you didn't, then it's definitely nothing on your end!
Loool you get blackflagged for overtaking somone, for setting the fastest lap. I’ve been there and every time my group go there we all get black flagged it’s ridiculous
That guy was dangerous! He wrecked his own progression and lap times for no reason. But i do think when your as good as your self keep to clubs most public only go once blue moon dont really get a chance
The angry guy was really idiotic and immature for the most part. But you cant just apologize to someone for bumping them, then keep in front of them. You have to give the position back.
I'm so happy I rarely have to come across people like that lad, that was weaving in front of you, turning into you.
That's why I try avoid all the open public stuff as much as I can, especially at Teamsport 😂

Public sessions can either be really fun getting past everyone or just awful with people like this on track. Don't blame you for not going back tbh
have people actually died there?

Good old track this is karts are in prestige condition compared to outdoor karts as these karts don’t experience the cold and wet, very fun track

What a battle 😂 that guy got really annoyed 😅
I can see where the marshals are coming from with the bumping, although I think that they are being a bit harsh.
Not deserved at all, great racing from you
It is what it is unfortunately 😅 thanks dude 😁

always the slow people that would rather worry about whats behind them than whats infront of them
Hey
I dont know anything about gokart and what does Black flag mean?
it means youre disqualified
It means go to the pits for a slap on the wrist
Loool you get blackflagged for overtaking somone, for setting the fastest lap. I’ve been there and every time my group go there we all get black flagged it’s ridiculous
Basically 😂 apparently I need to predict if they're going to swerve into me or not... Ah well though, its not a race so doesn't effect much 😅
3:41 reminds me of Senna and Prost in Suzuka.
Car 9 is clearly a jerk though...
Nice one Rob, just getting back on track myself now after a while off, maybe I'll see you around some day soon.
Keep up the great work!!!
Thanks dude! Ayyyy hopefully I'll see you on track at some point, it's definitely something that needs to happen!
should come down to teamsport leeds man some point in the weekdays id say mon-thurs pretty dead if you havent been before
Leeds is certainly on the list for some time in the future 😁

Nice video, could you send me the equipment links what you used to film it thanks 👍🏻
I thought for a sec that I was watching some famous RUclipsr. Nice content dude keep it up
Ayyy one day maybe haha 😅 thanks dude!
You overtook the kart ahead when there was yellow flags at 1:55
what was the black flag for?
Contact 😅

i wanna race u, looks like it`d be fun ;-;

Getting black flagged when digging straight down
I got black flagged for someone crashing into me and I was knocked out - didn't argue but was certainly pissed off
That guy told me to not bump when I did not bump
I've only been black flagged once and that was also at Harlow, they do love their black flags there 😂
Oh really 😅😅 maybe you're right they must love their black flags 😅
I got black flagged once even though it was the guy behind me divebombing into corners during a yellow flag
So Owen undertook ..😂
ive gotten black flagged at Teamsport Nottingham for going too fast 💀
For going too fast?!?! 💀💀💀
TeamSport: Sorry no professionals
Fr 💀 I was honestly confused because its rare to get blackflags while driving outdoors which I was accustomed to, it was like my second time there 😭
You racing for sponsorship bro??
If sponsorship happened to come up then I wouldn't say no 😂😂
To agressive driveing 🤷🏻♂️
Driving is too aggressive. If you took part in BIKC you’d be black flagged and be out in the local heats at that rate.
Sorry I'll clean my racing up for Bumping Indoor Karting Championship, the fairest kart competition going 👍
Rip Bozo 💀💀💀 (sorry bro, I would be pissed if I got black flagged after spending 30 usd to race lol
why did they directly give you a black flag, aren't they supposed to show you a black and white flag first then a black one?

Kind of a hack
