I don't think they will. In AoE2 DE they had to redo most voice lines cause of the immense compression the originals had.
Altough many people don't mind rusty audio tracks, it would be nice to at least have the option.
The Egyptians voices might be altered to Coptic.
@@royasturias1784 Changing the script itself would make a lot of people really mad, I don't think they will change it so far. Mostly considering AoE1 has the same voice lines for all civs and they respected that in the Definitive Edition.

I'm also slightly worried about some of the animations, the one thing that was awesome about the titans for instance is that they moved and attacked sloooowly.
This game has the best campain in the entire franshire, enjoyable to no end
agreed. Every 2-3 years I replay it in full. Online used to be good but not a lot of lobby's now.
I love everything about that trailer. I was like a little child in front of my monitor and hoped they drop the release date and they did!
I hope they have just done in this game what they had done in Definitive Edition AOE2:
- Nice and stable multiplayermode
- nice graphics (which seems they did a great job)
- and last but not least some quality of life changes
If they did this will be my new favorite game for a long time. I am so fking hyped! :)
At the very start of the trailer, 12 seconds (of the trailer, not Hera's video), you can see a catapult wobbling on an uneven stone road. The attention to detail is amazing. Let's hope the unit movement won't be as clunky as it is in AoE4.

I have watched this trailer more than 5 times and still it gets me hyped
If Hera plays AoM and chooses Hera, it could create a time paradox, the results of which could cause a chain reaction that would unravel the very fabric of the space time continuum, and destroy the entire universe!

Aztecs are waaay too late, like a thousand years too late. But ancient Chinese or Indians could work.

I always thought this was going to be an RTS game that died to time just like Star Wars Galactic battlegrounds but I literally jumped off my couch watching the reveal this was debatably my favorite of the AOE games
Did i just hear - Genevieve O'Reilly voicing goddess Isis in the trailer? Cannot confirm it as the imDb or her wiki does not state it yet (as it is still not released) but If so that is freakin fantastic choice! Not even sure if we will be able to hear gods during gameplay but it would be an interesting touch.
In the end, i am absolutely excited for this game.
I'd argue the first aom trailer was even better.
That one still gets me goosebumps every time the theme music kicks in near the end of the announce trailer

I am still fascinated how good pixel graphics actually looks better than low poly 3D models.
It's on the same engine as AoE3 DE engine, so those are 3d models, not pre-rendered pixel graphics like AoE2 DE.

kinda hard because mythology settings itself was never that popular, so I don't think this game competitive scene will be that big (as the old mythology isn't).

Biggest issue I have is the scaling looks terrible you have generic mobs that are bigger than buildings... Not immersive at all
No chinese civs is gonna do wonders for balance. Looks great.
They will release the Chinese later as the first DLC, but changed, hopefully for the better.
Im begging for Nahuatl pantheon (im not saying aztec because a lot of different cultures in prehispanic México had the same gods) but the thing they had in common was language.

They funny thing is that the graphics are basically aoe3 DE graphics. Yet all aoe2 players shit on aoe3
AOM was way better than AOE3. It had a better feel to it kinda like AOE2. The units get a bit ridiculous though, as to be expected with them being mythical.

aoe2 old lan trailer was actually better
A shame the game sucked so much. The 3d thing just never has worked for this RTS series. Also IIRC you couldn't move your town center and the god powers could change an entire battle instantly so you couldn't really commit to an army as much.
