I think we should not have reservations about use of any accompanying instrument, till it enhances the vocal rendition, which Pt Walawalkar succeds in achieving in this raga. Gaud Malhar is a forte of Pt Kashalkar like Pt Mansur, no praise is sufficient for the maestro.
I believe everyone is entitled to their opinion, so it’s ok if theirs doesn’t coincide with yours. That’s what makes us human. We shouldn’t force our opinions onto others, but we have a right to voice our thoughts :)
I would like to have an opinion here, There are most of Ragas in those Ragas the amount of meend is used tremendously. Having said that in all the Ragas there is meend involved as per the Raga structure. Some instruments can have that limitation in respective situation. Note:- There is nothing about disrespecting any instrument.
