Great tips. I have four rabbits ready to give birth in five days. I will look for the signs of the nest building to place the boxes in. Thanks again, Jerry of Pine Meadows Hobby Farm
What do I do because my doe is using her litter box as a nesting box but now she is putting her litter box in a different area I don't now what to do can u help me please ?
Can you switch locations of the next box and little box? That may not help, but I have rabbits that are pretty stubborn about putting litter in a certain place, so I have to be sure not to put a nest box there. It is normal for a mother rabbit to put a few droppings in the nest box after the babies are born. It is also normal for the babies to eat some of them, just as it is normal for adult rabbits to eat some of their own droppings.
Yesterday when I put my pregnant doe out of cage she started picking hay in her mouth and was trying to make a nest at the corner of room. Then I put her in cage and provided her a nest box but she is not making nest not picking any hay to put it in nest box nor even eating hay. Only green leafy and carrots she's eating now. Though she is sitting in nest box 📦 very calmly..... Any suggestions plz
My bunny just randomly had her babies I felt that she was pregnant but wasn't completely sure she didn't show any signs of pregnancy besides having large nipples and making noises when she'd be near the male, so she never pulled her fur to start nesting she's a first time mom she only had 3 but one was born dead and not even fully developed. How will I be she she's feeding her two babies? Or what should I give her to make her nest should I help her make the nest?
You will probably never see her feed her babies. I've had rabbits for years and never see it happening - I guess it must be at night. You will know she is feeding them if the babies grow. I would make sure the babies have a soft nest. Straw, hay, or a blanket of some sort. You'll need to place the babies in there - the rabbit will not be able to move the babies there like cats do.
Pick the babies up- you have to check them to make sure they’re feeding. When they still don’t have any fur or much you can see a white line across their tummy it’s called a milk band. That means they drank.
my doe is in her 12th day of pregancy, and I just started to see that she is doing the same thing that your describing in your video....should I put in her nest box now or is it too early?, because she is not eating the hay I just put inside her cage...she keeps tossing it and getting under it and scratching her litter box....what should I do?
Not sure the best answer there. I'd probably try to wait until at least day 24, or she's liable to have the nest box soiled by the time she's full term. With the doe in the video, she starts to act this way around day 24 and I usually put it in on day 25 or 26.
Also, one more question...at what day of the does pregnancy am I supposed to start noticing a change in her belly?....because I know that when you palpate then in between their 10th and 12th day of pregnancy you can feel something in their belly, and I felt her and I just feel that her belly is hard but their is no other change, yet I was the one who bread her and saw it was a successful breeding......by the way, it's my first time breeding her, but she's hade 2 litters before this one with her previos owner and she was not spayed when given to me
I've never tried to palpate to figure out for sure if a doe is pregnant. Since this is just a hobby for me, I don't mind wasting another two or three weeks (after palpating would tell me if she was pregnant or not) to see if she has kits or not. So I'm not sure how easy it is to determine by palpating. Normally I let the doe in the cage with the buck to allow him to "finish the job" three times. When that happens, the doe has always been pregnant. I've never had exceptions.
the day I bead her I left him with her for about 4 days...the last day I had them together I saw that he finished the job about 4 times, that's why I thought that she would have kits, I just wanted to know if by day 12 or 13 their would be any other sign for a beginner to know if the doe is pregnant...and thanks for the reply:)
Sirch Rapil stress. Did yours?! Typically means they are super stressed and or not well. Wild bunnies do this if they’re stressed or something is wrong.
First of all the cage is too small and when I say that I mean way too small. Also no animals should be kept in a wire cage due to sore hocks. Just because they are pregnant doesn't mean to put them in conditions like this. I know my facts because my family work in the rspca and also I'm getting a rabbit too

Windbewithyou Live spontaneously but why would you let her be around a male if you know nothing about pregnancy? That’s my concern.
Good RABBIT
Great video, thanks!
Leave it where she puts it that is where she wants her nest to be
Leave it where she wants it

what is the reason why some other rabbit ate their babies.????? reply plsss

They could of been scared after the babies were born, or the babies had died and the mother was trying to get rid of them
My rabbits , will, never, ever forced to live on a gaze metal wire floor.......
