Yokai Seishinkage Actually, I believe he is using triggers for the attack and articulation, but he is probably layering it with a mic'd recording of his kicks for more of the natural kick sound and bottom end.

Well I mean I didn't say he wasn't using triggers. Just not the tincan sound of triggers that a lot of drummers have. triggers or not, this band's kick drum sounds fantastic \m/

I saw these guys at Metal Fest back in 2004. The headliner was “Deicide” but these guys had a better sound engineer because they were tight and had their shit together. Deicide sounded Horrible on that stage. I actually had to walk up and get close to the stage in order to make sense of what they were playing. It sounded like noise toward the back of the crowd. Jungle Rott was the best act that night.
