i did mine like 6 months back and i live in india so the staring and the talking behind the back was kinda extreme..lol i loved the shaved thingy but couldnt keep it because of the society..so i let that grow and now its grown upto my ear :D still lovin it tho..

I have both of my sides cut off and I've loved it for about 6 months. Of coarse I get a lot of bad comments on it but I honestly like the look and I can wear it on either side which is cool I can't hide it unless I wear my hair down the middle which I don't do alot. But I'm letting my hair grow back out now and when it gets to a reasonable length I'm cutting the rest of my hair to blend it out. I've liked the look while I've had it though
You're a wonderful bundle of contradictions, you look like Cordelia from Buffy, sound super upbeat and friendly and have an edgy haircut. Love it. I also enjoyed the pros and cons, because I worked my way from an a-line to half shaved to a fohawk pixie in eight months and had to think over so much of that as I did that journey.
I have thought about getting a side cut for a few years but this morning I decided for sure! I cannot wait to get it done! I have always been bullied but I am getting to the point where I'm like "I'm me, like me or hate me, I don't care!"
I already have one and I absolutely love it! c: I keep it longer though so I can just tuck some of the hair behind my ear if I go somewhere nice and it doesn't look like I have one

Another pro is you can do a bunch of hairstyles on that one spot haha. I've had shaved super close, fuzzy, with long sideburns. And changing the color of it makes it pop more. Adn if you don't want a crazy color there you can make that part of your hair a lighter tone than your natural hair(depending on the color of the rest of your hair).

I've had long hair up to under my boobs for years and years but two weeks ago I cut it above my shoulders with a ton on badass layers, and got side a side cut and I love it. I was so tired of having such a plain prissy girl haircut so I went all out. At first I was like "oh no, wtf did I just do?", and I thought my mom was going to kill me but she actually liked that I could cover it up. Then I started liking it more. But with my hair it's hard to maintain because my hair is naturally light blonde and I've had my hair dyed brown for years. So that'll be a little hard to keep up with while it grows. But I love it. Change is good. Great video btw, yours looks great.

I decided to do it although I did more of a deathrock/deathhawk inspired thingy but it's awesome the only thing is I should of done it when summer rolled around because now I have to wear a hat whenever I go outside which isn't fun when you try and backcomb your hair for the deathrock style. :3 thanks again

It really depends what you look like! It's hard to tell in your picture because of the angle, but short haircuts look good on people with round faces - so I'd say yes.
My twin sister calls mine a bald spot but I adore mine. It's 1/3 of my head though, so a bit more than yours and I color the rest of my hair :D I work as a nurse so it's groovy. She hates it, the people at my church (mormons) love it :D they brought up a great point (elderly ladies did) there's always that one side of your head you can't fix like the other, now that isn't a thing! Haha!!!! :D Btw, I just subscribed!! :D

For what it's worth though, yours looks better than any sidecut I have seen out in the real world (nicely shaped head perhaps?). If you ever did want to change, what is the "exit strategy"?
Thanks. I guess I just really don't care if 20-something grad school guys like my haircut or not, and I hope that doesn't sound offensive. Most of my 20-something friends have pretty good jobs and they like it. I don't really chose my friends based on their educational/professional status or whether or not they like my hair, anyway. Anyway, I'm 23, I have a corporate job and I cover it up by simply changing my part and my bangs hide it easily. Most people don't even know I have it, so if I want to grow it out, I would just cover it up while it grows - or get some kind of asymmetrical bob haircut where having the side very short looks "normal."

I've gotten side-shave / undercut but one thing I never understood is.. does that usually include cutting the back too or no? I've had people ask and I've done both but was never sure what was "proper."
There isn't really a "proper" in that case.. sidecut is on the side, undercut is in the back. But some people do them both together. Totally preference!
I love girls that have this hairstyle... personally I think it looks really good and it's nice when you pet your girlfriend because her hair on one side is like a horses mane and on the other side its like a little baby deer :3

Hey! I have a sidecut and pulling my hair back in a ponytail kinda shows it off unless it's pretty low (you'll still see a little of the front though). I would recommend you just part the hair above the cut and flip it over the shaved part to cover it up. You can't see it if you do that.
Yes, it took about 2 years to grow back out to my shoulders. But it really wasn't that bad! I actually had a short haircut while I grew it out so it wasn't too noticeable, but even if you weren't willing to do that, you can always cover it up with the other side. I'd just start with a smaller one to see how you like it!
Rogue Black Get a professional, they will know how far back the shave will go because of your head shape, they also know how short/long it should be, lastly they know how to fix it, especially when it grows out

I just recorded a video about this last night, and it should be up sometime next week. Both high buns and low buns look nice, but it's just important that they are loose. Slicked-back buns (in my opinion) look weird with a sidecut.. volume is key.
oh yes the family approval part is soo true! my mom is like i prefer if u broke ur skull instead of doing this sidecut, she hated it but i liked it so.. whatever
It's definitely a long term commitment. I'm in the process of growing it out now, and it's sloooow. I LOVED it, though. It was worth it! Take the plunge. :)

Any tips on doing a bun with a side cut?
I just recorded a video about this last night, and it should be up sometime next week.
Both high buns and low buns look nice, but it's just important that they are loose. Slicked-back buns (in my opinion) look weird with a sidecut.. volume is key.
What size are your ears and where did you get your jewelry?
I didn't notice she had a stretch at first and I was like "WTF? You're asking what size her EARS are??"
oh yes the family approval part is soo true! my mom is like i prefer if u broke ur skull instead of doing this sidecut, she hated it but i liked it so.. whatever

It's definitely a long term commitment. I'm in the process of growing it out now, and it's sloooow. I LOVED it, though. It was worth it! Take the plunge. :)
