I missed out on the original 2007 voyager; I've seen only reviews and pictures. I always thought it was neat that one of the arm cannons of the deluxe can become a turret. (Not to mention convenient turret storage in truck mode.) Took me years to figure out that the small openings on the bed in truck mode can also hold on to the turret's legs. I'm gonna have to get him out from being packed away now since your comment brought nice memories.

I bet your disappointed with the MP if you got it. That chest sucks, and the arms are strangely engineered. It looks great if you don't touch it, but as soon as you handle it, he kinda sucks unfortunately. The alt mode looks okay though. 😊

I've been curious about this figure for a while, and now I know that I want it. I'm a little disappointed with some minor aspects, namely the paint. The piece in the center of the chest could've used some grey paint or just been left the same grey as the front bumper, and the legs are sorely lacking in the paint department. But overall, this is a very nice figure that I look forward to getting along with the Bumblebee, Ratchet, Jazz, Optimus, Grimlock, Starscream, and Megatron figures... whenever that'll happen.
Great review man! That was awesome! Ironhide is awesome too! I finally just got all wave 1 at my house! I'm excited AND I bought a really cool display cabinet! Its got 4 compartments snd sliding to disappear glass with windows on every one. Real wood. $20 talked down from $50 at yard sale. :)

Unfortunately my collection is litterally over 250 lg. uhaul boxes filled with toys, or 11 thousand toys in warehouse And my parents have gotten everything out of order so i.know where it all is but it's not like the Prime stuff is all together, ect. it's like 1 Masterpiece uhual box over here 1 over there, so forth and so on same with every single line. But I do have plans for a display coming up so it'll show some of it
Hi PrimeVsPrime! I own an SS Ironhide too and there are tabs on the truck hood chest pieces that actually tab into slots hidden below the head. It helps if you tab the chest in before transforming the chest because you'll be stressing the doors that fold onto the back, as well as closing the gap between the neck and the middle chest.
I had this guy in hand today, last one in the store, never been in stock before. Then realised the paint on the eyes was a massive QC issue so I put it back. Having now looked at more reviews it seems most people have this issues so I wish I’d picked him up now....
Aside from that hideous fender at the waist, it does look pretty cool. For me, however, I think that I'm gonna stick with the old Hunt for the Decepticons Deluxe...which also scales pretty nicely with Ratchet (whether Studio Series or Dark of the Moon), though I would figure they're both similar in height anyway. And it's not that his truck mode is too big...it's that Prime's truck is just way too small.

I've heard arguments between the DotM Leader - which I personally think is crap - and the RotF Recon retool of that 2007/RotF Voyager for being the best Movie Ironhide. But for me, it's good enough. Takara's recent Movie The Best reissue of the HftD Deluxe looks pretty sick, too.
is it possible to detach the front bumper in robot mode? Wondering if a third party replacement could be done that at least folds back at the sides. I can't wait to paint more silver details on this figure particularly on the legs. For the loose joints just apply thin layers of nail polish to create more friction. :) How is the torso? On previous voyager figures I've often found that part super fiddly and often coming apart? Is this one more secure and solid?

It comes with replacement feet that has better paint and ankle pivot as well as replacement collapsable bumpers and a pair of rifles that he got from que/wheeljack in dotm. It also comes with a pair of knives. Total after tax and shipping costs a bit more than the figure itself
I think the figure looks as good as we will get. I do think, however, they should have designed the bumper like the deluxe version. Wouldn't have caused any problems and would look much better in robot mode

I think he should have been a smaller voyager around ratchets height, because he was not even close to being primes height in the movies, he was as tall as ratchet
dotm ironhide might be taller with the legs completely extended but he is supposed to have the double jointed knees collapsed to look proper, maybe that way the size difference isnt as noticeable

Eh, not exactly. Sure, you got everyone in the team, but they need to release a 2007 Camaro Bumblebee to have a fully accurate team. When Bumblebee met up with the rest of them in the movie, he already ditched the 1977 Camaro alt mode.

Ironhide’s truck mode actually doesn’t scale too bad with Optimus but could be a little smaller. GMC Topkicks are used as tow trucks and U-Hauls

To be fair, his articulation is pretty well reflective of his dynamics from the films. That said, he's not really a 360-at-the-shoulder kinda bot.

Torso on this one is very solid. It has tabs that hold everything in place. The bumper section cannot be detached unless you break it off.
