The gameplay must have 60% puzzle and 40% survival action. Additional, it must have complex dungeon design map like RE1 and no linear map start from beginning to end like chapter to chapter.
With less action, more survival and horror with some returning puzzles, new upgradable weapons, decent inventory (Stop the time, automatically picked ammo and place it to the pistol slot than taking another slot.) Lastly, less tension for QTE grapples, attacks or any contextual-sensitivity action? It would be deserving a remake.

“Original concept” is so manipulative. The games development just evolved. Creating games was different back in the 2000s. They would release trailers with only IDEAS on the table. It’s still an awesome trailer nonetheless.

You know what's funny and also a little depressing is despite the fact that the game wasn't being developed by Mikami nor his production team this early build of RE5 actually looks and feels like a spiritual successor to RE4. A FAR cry from the horrible clusterfuck of a game we eventually got.
