Some of those older obstacles were straight up impossible. Weird friction messing with momentum or something blocking you from gaining the necessary momentum to complete an obstacle. Those always rubbed me the wrong way, when people would fail because the obstacles weren't fair to begin with not because they didn't have the strength or skill.
