Building underground forts and places to hang out was something we did as kids out in the woods before all the technology kept kids in the house 24/7. We had imaginations and built things underground and up in trees . not so much anymore !
A big problem are police and nosey Karen neighbors. My high school friend group used to build forts all over, but we'd always get kicked out and forts torn down by police because people complained. We'd even put them deep in the forest and we'd still get caught. Eventually we just gave up and started hanging out in my friends basement. This was 15 years ago to, kids can't do anything anymore without adults getting in their way.

Yeah, 40 years ago we made dens, treehouses & bogies & we loved it. Great times gone forever.

Building a fire in that dugout would have filled the entire space with thick smoke that burned the eyes and filled the lungs with smoke. They cut that part from the film, this structure wouldn’t work for having an indoor fire place you need a chimney for the smoke to escape or it could actually kill you.
That's what I was wondering how she would keep a fire without filling up with smoke!

Not only that, but the entire underground shelter would also flood. Unless I missed something, where would the water go should there ever be a storm? She basically built a huge pothole for water to accumulate.
Girl is beautiful, talented, and resourceful. Thank you very much for demonstration. Questions: Soil appears VERY sandy. How close is nearest water, and how far above water table is floor of shelter? What part of he world? What kind of tree/wood was used? What type of grass/ground-cover was used? Does groundcover survive inside shelter without direct sunlight? How does fireplace vent? How much rainfall in this location, and how is runoff diverted from flooding underground shelter?

From what I gather, she just does this to entertain us (the watchers). I'm sure the smoke is not good for inhaling. I'm sure the grass is going to die inside the shelter and what about the grass that left its old home? Will it grow back? On the plus side, this is great exercise! :) I would hate to live with bugs, possible snakes, water running in, no lock on the door, and the possible fear of everything caving in on me. To be honest, this doesn't exactly look like a secret dwelling to me. If I walked past, I'd be like, wooooah! Check this out!

I wondered if I missed how she made the exhaust pipe. you can see smoke coming out the top but I didn’t see how she did it.
I.ve seen quite a few off grid builders, however this young lady just blew my mind. I now believe there's no such thing as the youth is wasted on the young...Simply amazing display of youth and artistry. God bless her and her family always. Amen!!!!

The digging was clearly done with an excavator of some sort, this would take days to do even with multiple people helping
I'm a Licensed GC ,the fact she hasn't gotten an ounce of dirt on her should be a red flag....
you can see the teeth marks from the excavator like 30 seconds into the vid. agreed.

Whoever or wherever you are young lady ,you are incredible ♥️ you are a builder,contractor,exterior and interior designer and you use mother nature to it's fullest. Yes, she is remarkable & strong. Ever since learning more about how movies were made it's impossible for me to see a video without seeing the camera person behind it. Some do use tripods, of course.
But as an older female now, I first couldn't help thinking of the loneliness there, nor of the need for a shower, hand-washing....this life is definitely for the strong! We were not meant to be hermits, but hopefully this was for the video & she won't be. I also think of safety more as I've aged & thank God always for the safety He has provided. I was never a tough chick, lol I do admire her skills, abilities, & willingness to endure hardship. We all will sooner or later. Bravo to toughness!!! Truly 💜
Look at the editing. Haha. She isn't doing this alone. There is a team of men doing most of the work. They cut it in such a way to make it seem as if one woman is doing it all. She isn't. It's already been exsposed.
Let us hope the other heroinas like her (you for example) are nearby to rescue her from under that hill when the first rain comes.

On my land this kind of building is impossible, we have totally different soil with no clay. I think clay is essential. But great work, I agree. I do worry about the rain in front of the door?

@@Nikki-cm2dp Absolutely. Unfortunately, most of the videos of this type are staged. Sawing and digging like that is some of the hardest work there is. She doesn't even get dirty! Sometimes you can see tracks left by the equipment. Still a lotta work, though.

I'm amazed that no matter how much dirt you work with, you never get dirty! You're wearing sandals and your feet are so clean! Also, how do you build a fire inside without dying from carbon dioxide poisoning? What do you do when it rains? I can see this hole easily becoming a swimming pool.

And that back pack must be magic. She pulled a full length shovel from it. And it kept her meat and pineapple from spoiling while she made her miracle house 😉

This project is ingenious. The earth quality (wherever she lives) helps though. It's 'attack-able' with her tools yet can be 'worked' fairly easily. Where I live, you'd hit hard, unforgiving chalk fairly quickly! The timber she used seems a very soft softwood... even traditional soft woods warrant a strong saw. Don't wish to appear to be belittling her efforts... She's using what's available to her advantage and she's one amazing craftswoman, carpenter, designer & builder.
Makes for a cozy little place to sleep much better than a tent. Also, a whole lot safer. This is the kind of cabin you could survive in Nahini Valley
I would guess this lady is in Cambodia. Remember the North Vietnam tunnels? Dirt texture there is very tacky and firm. I know little bit because I'm from SE Asia. I helped dug ponds and play with dirt to make dirt toys and sling shot balls.

I always think the same....the soil is easy to work.? Last week I cut a tree in front of my garden and after only a few branches the saw was no longer as sharp or working up to speed, myself severe tiredness and time for recovery.
That wouldn’t happen here in Texas where I live. You better have some machinery and some power tools but I could keep up with her

I don't know how I came across this video, but I absolutely love it and subscribe. I started watching for the amazing Ingenuity of this person, and was pleasantly surprised that not only was she smart , creative, and hard-working but also very beautiful. It's an extremely talented woman, what a lucky guy she must have.

LOL Here I am wondering how I got watching this myself.. Just unreal I could never do what this woman is doing so fast. Most people throw there backs out with a shovel real fast. She is a machine!
They left out the best part. She also builds a Toto toilet from scratch, runs a water line in from a nearby river and then ties the lateral sewer line into the city’s sanitary sewer. I mean, digging a dugout is one thing, but fabricating an entire water and sewer system in one afternoon? Damn.
While I realize this is a joke, it actually is possible if there's a stream nearby. You can make what's called a "rampump" which doesn't need electricity and can pump water long distance and uphill. Pump that into a reservoir, which can be something as simple as a storage container from Walmart, add an out flow for overflow, a spigot to get water, and a pipe to go to tolite area. For toilet, just a large pipe would do the job. Set a couple large logs on either side of the pipe, and one of those camping tolite seats from Walmart on top of that. Run the septic line back to the creek, past your intake of course. And there you have it, a perfectly functional water and septic system.
@B Gallagher it would be incredibly hot once she built a fire in there as well as the ventilation issue.
When it's time to think about survival even animals know you do not use the bathroom anywhere near where you take your meals or bed down to sleep! This would get you killed! She did kind of try to hide her structure...if she ran a sewer line to her dwelling Stevie Wonder could find her on a bad day! Just saying...
@@lisaellis9725 sewer lines are buried. Assuming the creek in question isn't right next to the place, even if someone spotted a lone white pipe feeding into the creek, they'd never be able to trace it. Anyway, it's kinda a moot point. Stealth can't be the goal when you make it so obvious. I would have forgone the front yard area, (which btw is going to collect water the next rain like a bowl and flood the whole place), and gone with a mud and leaves covered door, that once closed would be hard to see. I know the title says secret but any hiker could stumber across it easily, and a plane would spot it even easier since it's so obvious and in a clearing of all places

This is truly impressive! The craftsmanship this lady has is beyond compare! This has to be the cleanest dirt I've ever seen. No spiders, roaches, or other critters disturbing her the whole time. I just have two questions? How does she shower and go to the bathroom? What happens when a heavy rainstorm comes? Wouldn't it flood the home. In any case, sure is a good place to go to get peace and quiet!
I thought about rain too. She probably only gets rain in a monsoon season. The rest of the year is dry. I want to build a homestead. She would he a handy neighbor!! Her skills are impressive.

I was wondering the same thing. Also, I don't think the roof will withstand even a single heavy rain shower. And building furniture before even having a door? The food didn't look particularly off-grid either. Soothing to watch, but I don't think any of this makes much sense at all.
...and the clothing seems entirely unsuitable for this kind of work too!
Maybe she has a whole team of diggers standing by.... Also any rain would drain down that slope into her living space...

These videos crack me up! Does she have a generator to run the sump pump for when it rains and this fills with water. I guess she also has grow lights to keep the grass alive inside that sees little sun light. Also I bet it gets kind of smokey in there with no chimney for the cooking fire.

What thee channels don't show you is the fact it takes about a month to do one of these things, the fact they have a crew working on it between takes and what it looks like after a couple of days after it's been finished being exposed to the elements.
I was going to say no way she completed this in one day and as labor intensive as this job was, she looked pretty clean, barely breaking out in a sweat.

Just impressive beyond belief! In reading comments, with some saying that’s she had help and other machinery/tools, ok, fine. Let’s say she did. (Which I don’t believe, but ok, let’s go there.). Her skills are OBVIOUS! Skinning the bark from trees, sawing through the wood, digging the holes, etc etc. She is literally doing MOST, if not ALL of the work. She is inspirational for sure.
Exactly. There is also nothing in the description that claims she did it all in one day. Or that she didn't have a camera person, but she certainly could have set up a camera ahead of time. What is truly amazing is that every time I see one of these Secret Underground Homes they are built with an incline that would allow any Rain Water to run down the hill and right into the Secret Home's Front Door.
There's a reason they don't live like this. But at least this one it looks like she actually did the work herself, unlike those guys pretending they do it with sticks when they are using heavy machinery to build elaborate pools.
The door and floor inside sits higher than the incline for that reason.

Not one boulder to haul out..perfectly nice easy to work dirt. Just a shovel making nice clean digs each time. No rocks. All these trees exactly the same size ready to be sawn and collected to have nice straight trunks, no branches, no crooked trunks. Foliage and branches all ready to be bundled uo and carried 10 feet to the front of her cave. Looks loke she had 4 Bobcat backhoes and dozers and 8-10 helpers behind the camera. helping her.

What about the thin but sturdy wood logs , all neatly cut (in some scenes, you can actually see how clean ans straight they are cut) , that seem to fall from the sky whenever needed ? Just show us the woodcutter scenes.

Honestly I have a hard time believing she did all that alone. I watched a good deal of the video but not all. The woman stayed in the same clothes and they never got dirty. As well I saw little signs of sweat on her top. With the effort it would take and in a tropical environment, she should be sweating like she's being paid to do so.

You do realize that not everywhere in the world has refrigerators. You are lucky to live in an area that has power and "modern" conveniences.

The grass she placed indoors will die in a couple of days. You are right about the ventilation, it did smoke up while cooking until the cut until it was down to coals. She easily could have put in a simple smoke hole, though it might be hard to keep water out of it during the monsoons.
Aren't most of these primitive channels fake? Most of these people who do these things have help with actual tools and other people. No singular person can build some of these things posted on the channel in 2 days.
