Wow, who would have thought you had to unlock upgrades in a video game through defeating difficult bosses. That's an unheard of concept in the gaming world.
You covered a lot of issues that have been resolved already, it’s like you stopped playing last month and scraped the bottom of the barrel for content 1) pretty sure housing unlocks when you hit sacrament now (house by the graveyard is like 14 silver ) 2) all items in stored chests are accessible from the vendor menu 3) the game is still in EA and as stated by the devs, the games going to be improved on consistently since “this is just the beginning” 4) it’s an RPG … it’s called progression And yeah there’s some problems but the devs so far have been listening to the community and adding these QOL improvements from the feedback. It’s better than 99% of the AAA titles that these companies have been puking out
Comments are top notch, grabbing popcorn whilst I howl at people that don't know what constructive critisicm are or an opinion. Good vid dude, was highly entertaining.
They've already improved many of thesequality of life complaints you have which is reoccurring. for example, accessing your chest's inventory whilst talking to vendors etc. its early access so they're listening to the players and tweaking it to people's needs whilst also preserving what they intend in the design.
Scraping the bottom of the barrel with this crap. Definitely made this video in the first day of launch then failed to mention they've fixed most of it
What people don't realize about this game is that you are not meant to horde resources that's the whole point of having different realms so that when you've leveled up, you'll be able to farm all those resources easily 😂 Plus the CEO said the team doesn't want to release every feature of the game before release date(the CEO is very active on X )
In the transition from Demon's Souls to Dark Souls, From gave you infinite inventory slots and added refilling healing items. No Rest for the Wicked seems to going back to the Demon's Souls stage. Why? We know those mechanics aren't good already since the early 2000s. We also got respec in Dark Souls 2!
You can unlock all slots in 20mins. Create two or three characters and farm first boss and first Marine bounty. Literally, you will need 15-20 to unlock all inventory slots. And it's early access so who knows will they keep this inventory system or they are just doing this now because we only have act I for now. If they didn't anything "wrong", even there isn't wrong in early access but OK, it's easy game (way to easy) and not adding respec in first patch but all will be added, it's early access game and it's in process of building for now. Many things you are talking about are already changed, so I don't know when you played last time and once again - it's early access with greatest devs and management in early access game I ever saw. They are listening and adding everything we want and need so yeah, try to play the game, updates are constantly be added and it's super fun to be part of something like this.
Agreed with everything you've said. Combat system and level design are great but so many unnecessary stuff, 20% of my gameplay time is just running back and forth from my chest to merchants.
The game is actually really easy if you know how to play. There is a video on my channel in which I erase the Echo Knight (end game boss) in 7 seconds, without any uniques.
The beauty of earning a reward for playing right.. i use to curse all bosses but after getting the hang of it my heavy armor dual dagger build can face tank all the bosses without needing to backstab like jan is thinking the only good way to play the game
The inventory system and time gates do seem like it’s set up for micro transactions but they’re not charging so for now it’s just a progression system, all good.
If i havent played wicked and saw this video i might not give this gem of a game a chance, You could have reiterated that the game is in Early Access with lots of room for improvement.. great suggestion on weekly challenge tho
LoL You haven't played many ARPG, have you? There is something called boss farming in ARPGs. The whole realm system of the game is there for this reason. You can simply unclock all your inventory and gear slots in an hour, at most.
I’m not too mad. The gate keeping is annoying but I’ll allow it. If they were gatekeeping with pay walls I would be boycotting this game. But I love this game so I am allowing it all. Also, I bought this game because CEO of moon studios is a Real Man.
Long comment in good faith. This video and forum discussions sometimes feels wierd. As a lot of complaints seem coming from diffrent aspectations. The game was primarily advertised as a diablo-like. While playing it's a mix between souls, diablo(esp late game mage), survival genres(harvest, crafting, grind, timers). I feel like 90% of the suggestions I see on discussions are bassicly saying remove 1 of these genres. As I like all 3 genres and their peculiar design choices I love the game, but I can see how if you dislike one of the genres you can see lots of negative design choices(seems most prevelant with survival elements). But if the dev vision is to combine all these genres, I don't see any of the video things to majorly change, as it would require a major change in the game vision itself. Also on the point of returning to areas. That's I feel like a major game design elements that is less talked about. Every boss kill changes areas enemies and levels. Dailies and weekly encourage you to go explore previous zones to see the new enemies. While exploring why not collect the wood and ore. So by engaging in bounties I naturally did all the town upgrades, have tons of food, embers, gold, etc. Also bounty weeklies(the mini bosses also change based on boss progression) also give ichor, even without weekly, the bridge boss arena, can spawn ichor dropping boss. These were also fun to do in a relaxing type of way, when I didint want to challenge echo. If you engage all the mechanics not just souls-like, your problems minimise. So it's a perspective issue, you saw only a soulslikes. in the end there's 3 conclusions. You warmup to all of the game genres/mechanics, don't play anymore, devs change their vision of the game. Edit: also it was written only in dc so most probably don't know, but respec is coming sometime, but the devs want to think of requirement so that it's not easy to do. And for inventory management they did implement that vendors/stations can acces your chests. The video was quite good from production standpoint.
I can’t believe there are so many comments defending unlocking 5 squares in your inventory for beating a boss is a normal and think it’s great game design. Defeating a boss and the reward to given for such an achievement should be a special reward. Additional inventory slots shouldn’t and isn’t something one considers as a reward.
when I tested it a month ago I saw two glaring bad design choices - too much fall dmg and the sluggish movement or the char and now there are timers? like in a mobile game? the fuck?!?! is that true??
The dangers of releasing a video about an early access game that is getting regular updates is that your info immediately feels dated. This video feels dated.
Omg "MoDerN AuDiEnCe" has become soooooooooo bloody lazy in addition of being so bloody sensitive for no reason...!! You want to mindlessly kill "shit", just play PoE.
The new Legend of Zelda games do this. And those are highly regarded games. This mechanic works in the right settings. I have had no issue with this mechanic. This just simply isn't your thing. And that's okay.
Yeah but Zelda had 999 caps there was no inventory issue. First five minutes of playing no rest you literally run out of space and if this is your first time playing you don’t know what you need or don’t need so you pick everything up. I didn’t mind the korok hunting for inventory slots. I always found enough to max all my inventory and never bothered with the koroks again
That's a good point. I semi hate (too harsh word, but can't think of any) botw because of this. I loved the game, but trying to 100% koraks(and failing) exhausted me so much that I started to hate turning on the game I previously immensely enjoyed. Probably won't buy the sequal because of it. Nrwt is much easier, especially for post first char, that it did not have any neg effect on me.
I do get your points, but from how I hear you talk about the game and what you would like to do. I'm glad you're not a designer for this game, no offense.
stopped watching after first critique, literally any gamer knows inventory expansion comes from progression in games. its a reward. Sounds like youve been baby fed by one game and cant handle it ....
You have no clue what gaming is, not progression, and definitely not what the word "gate keeping" actually means. I'm sure in games, you have EVERYTHING unlocked the moment you start playing..."Like yeah, I remember back in 2004 when I was playing World of Warcraft on launch day, I had like ALL my 24 slot bags unlocked because like as soon as I logged on, because LIKE TOTALLY Blizzard wasn't trying to gate keep me from having fun so I could like, literally carry EVERYTHING I found on the ground. Like Totally!" Wait...where you like even gaming back in 2004 or where you still in diapers? Because you surely sound like a whining child about No Rest for the Wicked here. That and even I, who gave the game negative review on day one, changed it to a positive after less than 5 days, because Moon Studios patched and fixed the hell out the game, even more so now. Your complaints about it being like a mobile game with stuff locked behind...I don't know, time playing the damn game, is asinine. I'm sure life and games in general would be amazing if you could just have everything and never had to work for anything in your life.
You're hilarious, you earned a sub from me
Same the guy is hilarious.. he earned a dont recommend this channel for me lol
Wow, who would have thought you had to unlock upgrades in a video game through defeating difficult bosses. That's an unheard of concept in the gaming world.
What next, the weapons have stat requirements = gatekeeping

Literal facts my guy. This dude in the vid is tweakin
He's an attention whore he's been doing this for Elden Ring dlc also since it was getting popular
you can unlock all slots in merely 1 hour later on...
Great game. Doesn't seem to be a game for you though.
It is a soul like game you have to earn the reward
lol when you playing w/o research.
You do realize there is a pretty simple way to inlock thos slots, right?
Is it "gatekeeping" to have a player earn that reward?
Comments are top notch, grabbing popcorn whilst I howl at people that don't know what constructive critisicm are or an opinion. Good vid dude, was highly entertaining.

Kids these days with their instant gratification. How about you earn something for once?

Dang I was really looking forward to this game, I love the Ori games. I hope they address these issues and make it more convenient to play.

When co-op is live. We get that duo down ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

This deserves way more views
The progression and being able to unlock these “inconveniences” is satisfying. This is probably not for you bud.

Hey, I was wondwring where all the overwatch 2 videos went? Some of them very really funny and I wanted to watch them again. Why remove them?

You are soooo spot on. I gived my feedback on steam that this game is designed as a free to play mobile game.
