#Batman #HarleyQuinn #Joker
Not only did Charlie scare the Joker into begging for Batman's help, but he made Batman laugh. He did the impossible. TWICE! ✌️
Charlie the LEGEND
This episode was ELEVATED to greatness by that ending
Yeah,Charlie TERRIFIED The Joker..And HAD NO FEAR,Before....PLUS,What you said: This was the 1ST TIME The Batman LAUGHED out of Amusement..ALOUD!! Man,inside Charlie Collins is a Total Badass WAITING to JUMP OUT!! Imagine Charlie`s Potential,If he was`nt married,Got in Prime Shape, and was Younger..Holy !@#$%^&&***$%$#$@!, What a Super Hero,Or Villain he could be...Hell,Did you see the punch Charlie Gave The Joker? OMG...He knocked him on his ass,HOLDING HIS STOMACH....And best Batman could do,Is to knock joker backwards,But Charlie Punched HIM in the stomach, and went down EASILY...Batman could`nt do that...If Charlie Reached HIS fullest Potential...I Fear for the Well-Being of ANY Super Hero OR Villain HE could Potentially Face,IF he reached his fullest Potential..I`m Feeling a Bit unnerved,About what HE COULD BE! *SMH*
He did what Batman and Joker couldnt
Wonder if Bruce told this story to Terry decades later.
So the creators of this show were friends with Arleen Sorkin who was on Days of Our Lives and she inspired Paul Dini to create a character based on her. He then asked if she would like to come voice her, and the rest is history. She literally is Harley Quinn. The inspiration came when her character on Days of Our Lives showed up in a dream sequence in a jester outfit on rollerskates. It's amazing 🥰
You mean rollerskates?
@@tehdipstick oh my God 😂 thank you
Sadly, after Arkham Asylum, Sorkin retired and so... We got Tara Strong. Don't get me wrong, Tara's a great voice actor, but at times, I can't stand her high-pitched voice.
@@fynnthefox9078 At least Kaley Cuoco does a really good take on Harley's voice.
@@fynnthefox9078 i love Tara Strong too... but i am simply not a fan of her Harley
Perfect Joker episode. Like it shows not only how evil he is, but how extremely petty he is. Also, the legacy of Harley Quinn was born.
I just can't wait for Joker's millions
Before they made her a sleazy sex object.
Ladies and gentlemen...the 3rd achievement of Batman the Animated serie after the rebuild of Two-Face and Mr Freeze...The creation of Harley Quinn !!! It's crazy how fast it clicked with her...She became a favorite really fast !!! Before her, it was mostly weird bandits or insane asylum patients as hendchmen...Here it became more personnal and later, more disturbing...
Joker calling for Batman's help is always hilarious.
The Joker's a bully and that makes him a coward for picking on the weak.
He must've been desperate to be calling Batman for help.
@@dwnkaomwn3953 he's also fought against super powered beings, you know.
@@dwnkaomwn3953 i mean he literally fights Batman but ok
This was back when Harley Quinn would actually dress like a Harlequin. As opposed to the bizarre biker/sportsbabe, anarchist combo she has today.
Well except in DC Superhero Girls. She's pretty amazing in that.
Yep, original Harley is the only good Harley
The look for her now came from new 52 which during that time they started pushing out her own run of comics instead of prior. Thus this allows more ppl to know who she is with it making cartoons/films showcase her more often to her reputation now in big screen media.
The look she has today is from the New 52. Nice try though. Also, it doesn't matter what the character wears if the character has enough depth and is done well.
@@ThatSamoanGuy What do you mean nice try though?
15:25 that was the best revenge Charlie could have gotten on the Joker. For years Joker has been trying to get Batman to laugh and never could. And then this “nobody” manages to pull off what Joker couldn’t right in front of him.
out of all of Joker's defeats, this the one where the Joker DOESN'T laugh about it
Charlie is a legend in this episode. Dude scared Joker into calling for Batman & made Batman laugh.
What is the lesson today guys...Road rage can get you kill !! I swear, the Joker is a model citizen on that part !! lolll
I Just love how he just see a nice opportunity to do a little chaos over nothing. That is pretty much classic Joker, no reason needed !
Of course it is hard to register that Montoya was in Birds of Prey, because here she is a great character and in Birds of Prey she is a crazy person who quits the Police to aid a known criminal.
Nobody was how they were in the comics in that movie.
This was a great episode into how the Joker works. Over having road rage at the wrong person, he changed his name and worried about him for TWO years. What if he never called him?
that would just go to show how Evil the Joker is. because i know it didn't show he was suffering, but he was still completely terrified when he heard the Joker after 2 years. i'd say if Joker never called, Charlie would have been completely paranoid his whole life.
There was a character called Harlequin in the comics years ago who had claimed to be the Joker's daughter, then claimed her name was Duella Dent, daughter of Two-face. This also turned out to be a false claim. The last I saw of the character she was a member of the Teen Titans. As to Dr. Harleen Quinselle, it wasn't established she was a clinical psychiatrist until her second appearance on BTAS. By the time her backstory was revealed in the episode entitled "Mad Love", DC incorporated her into the comics, in fact, "Mad Love" was based on a story in the comics. It had come full circle. BTAS also cleaned up a lot of backstories, including Two-face, Clay Face, Mr. Freeze, and the Mad Hatter.
See, I miss THIS Joker. Nowadays they just play him as a straightforward invincible psycho. One of the things I liked about the old depictions of Joker is the disarming feeling he invokes with his clownish buffoonery, which masks his dangerous side. This silly aspect is also what lets the occasional bum get the best of him like Charlie in this episode, whereas nowadays the Joker pretty much rolls over everyone.
God... Joker must feel so pathetic when Charlie can get him to laugh but he fails
Nah. It was probably all the more pathetic when he actually called Batman for help.
Yup, Harley's first appearance ever. This was history in the making.
Before she was made a nerd sex fantasy.
This is THE first episode that made the Joker really freaky in the DCAU, the intro scene is so creepy, the direction is incredible ^^ I'm not gonna lie, I've never seen another Harley Quinn being as good as she is in the DCAU, she the OG she's the best
The character of Charlie Collins from this episode was voiced by Ed Begley, Jr., but was drawn to look like the show's Executive Producer Alan Burnett.
The fact that Harley Quinn went from here to beyond in almost 30 years since her debut is amazing.
A legend was born. You should react to Harley Quinn, the animated series. Excellent show!
And yes, you all should watch the Harley Quinn animated series. Most fun I had watching TV in a minute.
I think if went downhill a bit in the second half of season 2, but otherwise yeah it's really good
@@Fatalbeast22 I think just the last episode of season 2 was weaker than the one preceding it but it was still a good climax.
LOL, yeah I caught that Dark Knight reference buddy; that was good. As for Harley Quinn, not only did she come from this show, but this her first episode. Before Jokers Favor, there was no Harley Quinn.
This episode had a few firsts. Joker actually calling BATMAN for help and Batman laughed.
Fun fact after watch Batman TAS documentary on RUclips. Because Spielberg wanted an orchestra for Tiny Toons, the creators of Batman used said orchestra to create the show's music.
The Harley Quinn show is amazing you guys would love it
the 1st time the joker was actually scared for his life and of really dying. i loved charlie as a character and tbh i wish that he did something worser to joker but it was fun seeing him pull off his revenge back at him
It's funny seeing Harley dressed like that to meet Charlie. Mercy would have a similar design in Superman and would also go on to kick Harley's ass in World's Finest.
Fun fact: Blind Wave is reacting to the "Harley Quinn" animated series!
I love this episode and honestly I think this is what's missing from a lot of other Jokers even Heath Ledger. Joker isn't just a super villain, he's also just kind of a petty jerk, he can be the end boss as easily as he can be a joke as easily as he can just be an asshole.
That flexibility is what, to me, makes Joker an interesting villain.
as good as the other joker episodes were before, THIS is THE Joker episode. THe one that defines him and feels the most in line with his personality (hell, it even introduces the character who becomes his number one henchman for the rest of the series)
"You don't think about Harley without the joker" I mean almost the past decade if comics have had her mostly solo and away from joker
IMO she works better with the Joker instead of a anti-hero.
I can never root for a murderer. But that's just me.
@@cryhwks well, in her solo comic she was an anti hero in the sense of she only ever stole from or killed criminals or corrupt people, so she was basically same level as red hood, in more recent comics she's kind of just a straight up hero that sometimes gets a bit too violent, and any other time she's away from joker (suicide squad, her own TV show) she's still a villain.
6:08 Interesting fact, Paul Dini and Bruce Timm, the guys who came up with Harley Quinn and wrote many of the episodes for Batman the Animated Series also worked on Tiny Toon Adventures, including wrote all the episodes where Plucky Duck played Duckman. The comic book the goon has is kinda a homage to that connection.
PSA on the dangers of road rage before it became a socially accepted phenomenon.
Birth of Harley Quinn, and it wasn't even an episode that focused on her. Charlie was the star here, as one of my favorite tropes in this show; an everyman who gets caught up in the twisted schemes of one of the rogues, someone who despite lacking the Batman's resources seeks out a way to thwart the plan at the right moment.
Originally Joker was going to bring the cake in dressed as a woman. They later decided they didn’t want Joker to dress as a woman so they made up some random female henchman character to bring the cake in instead.
Thus Harley Quinn was born.
At the time I knew of Arleen Sorkin from her co-hosting 'America's Funniest People' with Dave Coulier.
Next Time: The one where Batman's rockin and boppin to the Crocodile Rock.
8:52 The Montoya in Birds of Prey is only there to be disrespected by male coworkers for no reason and...that's all, so not worth mentioning. Just like the little girl claiming to be Cassandra Cain that's just there to poop a diamond.
Which is ironic, since Montoya is one of the most respected officers in the comics alongside Jim and Bullock.
This episode is gold, I wonder if Charlie appeared in any other media
I'm glad Suraj mentioned the Harley Quinn show at 5:58. I hope you guys react to it once you finish BTAS (lots of episodes to look forward to). It's more comedic & gory than BTAS, but still has lots of feels, especially in Season 2.
They quit reacting to BTAS.
I'll never look at them as a beautiful love story, ride or die. He literally beats her up and abuses the crap outta her emotionally. He's willing to kill her to get what he wants. Nahhh, Harley deserves better 😂
The Harley Quinn episode from this show that you need to watch is "Mad Love"
That last part was just EXCELLENT!!!😂😂😂
Remember when Harley Quinn was Joker's sidekick that slowely moved from him to become an accomplished criminal? You know, the REAL Harley.
I don't think that was Batman's plan. I think Charlie just decided that he'd rather die and protect his family than live the rest of his life in fear.
This is the debut of Harley Quinn, and shows the insane nature of the Joker. Also this show later, the comics, and Harley's show explore how EXTREMELY TOXIC, Harley and Joker's relationship is.
Jumpin Jiminy Christmas is reference to Burt wards robin in the Batman TV series 1966-1968
Have been loving all your B:TOS reactions, so fun to watch I kept forgetting to subscribe, until now. Hope you continue through all episodes and then into the rest of the DCAU. Or should that be the Conroyverse?
I've been waiting for this one! Joker was genuinely intimidating in this episode.
8:55 just like Harley I believe Montoya is a original from this show. Later when introduced in comics down the road she becomes the next the Question. Though that got retconned out when new 52 happened in 2011 and even after rebirth 2016 they havnt went back to that.
Great video guys! I love this episode, one of the best!
9:47 No one even expected the cake. And I don't mean the actual cake.
Guys I know you mentioned no more reacting to the series but please react to the two BEST (IMO) animated Batman movies to date. “Batman: Mask of the Phantasm” and “Batman beyond: return of the joker”
You guys should react to the justice league animated series ...and justice league unlimited
Darkseid afraid to invade the earth because Charlie is on it lmao
This group, this group of normies right here is why I subbed. Your ATLA reactions is why. The other members are why I don't watch anymore. If it was just you five, I'd watch every upload.
Nahid mouthing at the end 😂
13:10 Harley didn't get her degree with book learning and hard work...well, it was HARD work but more in the sucking and fucking variety (as shown in "Harley Quinn: Mad Love" from the creators of the show).
Attempt #343: of trying to get The Normies to check out Symbionic-Titan or Primal.
Both made by Genndy Tartakovsky, the guy who made Samurai Jack.
Da hell? Did the Normies go through a time skip or what? They look like they've aged, gained weight, lost weight, and hit up the salon in a week.
Batman: Hehe, you look nice begging like that Joker.
Joker: What?
Batman: What?
Hey Mikey, how's chicago bro? Love the reaction guys, another great one
It was the 22nd episode made, 7th episode aired
You guys have to watch Mask of the Phantasm and Mr Freeze Sub Zero
The voice of Harley Quinn is the wife of Christopher LLoyd! WHAT!?
Funny enough, Harley was first created purely so she could jump out of the cake! The writers had Joker doing so in the first draft, were told no, and created Harley for the job. Then they got to put Joker in the cake anyway, and Harley caught people's attention. The rest is history!
This was the first episode I saw back in the day, obviously wasn't my last. They just hit it out of the park. Almost made you forget that it was all just to sell toys.
Still in my Top 5 BTAS episodes.
when you get a chance you'll have to watch the mask of the phantasm movie. It's so good and does such a great job showing Bruce's early days and has an amazing soundtrack and plot.
I think Harley from TAS was my first crush as a kid 😅
Where’s ‘The Wire’ reaction?!😊
Really wish he'd put down the phone. Missed a good joke with the door
3:20 like certain character said in the batman beyond movie: Clowns arent funny in gotham
Please, please, please, can somebody explain why there is a timer next to the small screen with Batman TAS? What's the purpose of it?
It's on every reaction. And it's for copyright.
@@sgtfow10 Aaaah, I get it. Cuz if they show too many footage, they will be screwed... Thanks!
Love this episode, one of my favorites.
When they finish aot, re zero, or death note they should watch gurren laggan
Are you guys gonna watch the justice league animate show after this? Also static shock and Batman beyond since there all in the same universe?
Reportedly, Batman: TAS is getting a sequel series on HBO Max. Talks are currently in the works
Doesn't it already have sequels and spin-offs?
One of my personal fav eps
Will you be reacting to S2, S3, New Adventures onwards?
One of my favorite episodes.
Hope Joker learned something today, push the wrong guy and he could very well create someone crazier than him.
Harley Quinn's First Appearance! Let's go!
meatloaf is pretty bad but I remember seeing some hard ass meatloaf at school that you can throw it at the wall and it wouldn't break 😔
This Harley will always be the best version.
The Harley Quinn show is amazing. You guys really should watch it
Y'all need to make a Bruce Wayne voice recorder montage.
you mentioned the harley quinn show and implied that you haven't seen it so WATCH IT!
the wire?
Rana just invented in camara Rage!!
Idk if anyone's brought this up but can you guys watch Batman Beyond after this?
Fun fact: 614 is the area code for central Ohio and Columbus.
Are you guys gonna reactions to Mask of the Phantasm and Sub Zero?? They're part of BTAS too! You should just do the entire DCAU because Superman: The Animated Series crosses over with the fourth season of BTAS. I really want to see you guys lose your minds watching Justice League and Justice League Unlimited because they are so brilliant.
Superman TAS is pretty good too
Why don't they react to harley series? Like Is it just because of schedule or they just don't want to, just want to know if there's a reason why. Love yall
The new Harley Quinn show is amazing
It's Ed Begley Jr.
Finally, the introduction of Harley Quinn, in a fairly Batman-light episode as well. This was one of the Joker-based episodes where whacky hijinks occur and Joker picks on a random member of the public
The Harley Quinn show is amazing, brutally gory but amazing. But let's not forget that Renée Montoya was also a show creation that made quite a niche for herself, also Nora Fries who like Harley to Joker is equally inseparable to Mr Freeze
I'll disagree though I don't actually like Margot's Harley too much, Cuoco's Harley in the animated series is better and Sorkin is the top, followed by the Arkham games' Tara Strong
One bad day on the free way
Nope that was a 100 percent Charlie plan.
I wish they were doing chronological order instead of release order
Charlie the Legend 😌😌
Why did they stop reacting to this show?
they said the views are too low : (
so how did he know that bomb was a fake, anyway...
