      @@afrolatino89 It's a myth. There's no specific point, all voices are different. Whistle Register could start at B5 too, it depends on the person, and there's not a set note which defines it. Some people can Whistle down to D5 (Like Mariah Carey) while some can't below E6. It's just a matter fo how the vocal cords are made. And by the way head voice can't finish at anywhere specifically because every voice is different from the others, even organically and technically. Some people's head voice ends at C6, but their Whistles start from B5, while some people's head voice ends at A6 and their whistles end at D6... Some people can't even do the Whistle Register but are still able to get up there in head voice. I hope I didn't sound rude, have a nice day!

      A g6 in head voice is impressive but I would strongly advise you to be careful pushing your head voice or falsetto that high may cause vocal problems if you really know how to whistle I would advise you to use it because it will allow for higher notes with less strenght

    • @stone8193
      @stone8193 6 лет назад +22

      What does this even mean “ is it possible to support X note?” It makes no sense. If you are singing you are “supporting”. Breath support is one of the dumbest concepts I’ve ever heard. You can’t sing without air. Good singing is just singing with a steady airflow and properly resisted with the inhale muscles so you don’t exhale too much air

    • @jimbuxton2187
      @jimbuxton2187 6 лет назад +11

      Stone ...I think there is the age old school choice of terms...breath support, or" breath control."....the later is less offensive and more desirable. But you can not use the same amount of air pressure on a C7 as on a C6...this would be quite damaging....

    • @stone8193
      @stone8193 6 лет назад +14

      Jim Buxton in terms of operatic technique you’re still emitting an even flow of air. Yes, less air, but it’s not “more or less supported”. The inhale muscles must become more active and exhale muscles less so, but you can’t sing without exhaling air. The point of appoggio is to balance the antagonistic forces of inhale and exhale muscles. I still don’t get why people are like “is she supporting there or not?” “Beyoncé can support down to note X...”. It makes no sense physiologically.

    I think that most of these notes are whistle register, but classical sopranos are well trained and their chest, head, and whistle registers are well connected. Their technique is superior to that of most pop singers, so they are going to have a better sound.

      Well, they start to incorporate the flageolet/whistle technique as they go higher to lighten the load. Hence the highest notes sound more like flageolet/whistle.

    Can anyone explain the concept of falsetto in female voices? I thought that women had head voice and that falsetto was only something that was used by adult male voices? Also, I am fairly certain that “super head voice” is not a vocal register, but I could be wrong.

    • @archive2500
      @archive2500 3 года назад +1

      Science considers falsetto and head voice as synonymous to each other, both terms refer to the M2 mechanism. But these mainstream people right here consider falsetto as "breathier"/"airier" and "weaker" version of head voice.
      And these Opera singers start to incorporate flageolet/whistle along with their head voice/falsetto as they go higher for them to easily hit notes that high, producing "super head voice/falsetto". It is impossible to reach notes that high, you are literally stretching your M2 cords to their limit. And they also do it as early as possible to make the tone consistent and fluid as they go up or down.
