@Stuart Scott the vikings used and so did the Scandinavian reindeer hearders took them during winter solstus as a fun ritual ie. The Christmas we know today its a hallucinagenic trip come to the "real world" i love Christmas
I think perspectives on value and value systems certainly influence what art explores, which is often rooted in religious background. The two aren’t always connected but can easily be.
How has religion evolved? Do not the religious still consider ancient text as the ultimate source of truth? Show me an old religion that has changed (evolved) its core message of sacrifice and altruism? Religion hasn’t evolved, it’s just been forced to adapt to an increasingly secular world. In contrast to art, that has changed to unrecognisable proportions alongside the expanded wealth of knowledge humans have acquired. To consider the two in correlation is irrational.
Also science and religion co-evolved! Both are ways of "self alienation"! In both the "subject of knowledge" steps each in a specific way next to itself, for self intervention, for reason of self transformation and realization!
The question is good but the answers demonstrate how difficult it is for these scientists to come up with some imaginative thoughts. They do no more than circle the topic.
Art and Religion are not products of Darwin's Evolution if this is what you are referring, but a product of "Intelligent Design" where men and God are the designers. Let me clarify further, as follows : Nature is an Art in itself and is the reason why ancient men believed in the existence of the Almighty Creator without the benefit of written tablet, scroll, or books but by just witnessing the Awesome Wonders of Nature. The difference between Art and Nature is that Art is created by men, while Nature is designed by God to represent the truth about Heaven and Hell beyond the Physical World. Both are not products of Darwin's Toxic Evolution. In other words, Nature as an Art is the origin of the Philosophy of Religion.
Music is art... if only the people from the late 60s and early 70s that were high on lsd .....marijuana...... then in the 80's police and science made crack...... and now they're all Junkies...... but what my point is through all of this...... light energy has been trying to tell us something that I know now....because of religion ..... they don't work together they work with an algorithm like I Follow the Leader program like when you go to Walmart and buy a prepackaged item that you have to follow the instructions same thing
Art and religion co-devolved along with man's physical size. "Forbidden" archeology shows that 600 million years ago modern man's physical size was far bigger.
The Religious Instinct, is awake before the primitive people begin to make art. From the first fase, (Developing-Circuit) art is more or less reflecting the Religious Instinct. It is some how a Classic beginning of a developing-circuit.
This is a tremendous effort by you Robert. It's always super enjoyable to listen to you.

Wrong question. Was art inspired by hallucinagenics and did this coincide with the development of religion.
@Stuart Scott the vikings used and so did the Scandinavian reindeer hearders took them during winter solstus as a fun ritual ie. The Christmas we know today its a hallucinagenic trip come to the "real world" i love Christmas
It’s disappointing how people conflate craft with art. They have nothing whatsoever to do with one another.

Why not retrodict that there is dynamic of art and religion today and project back into the past?
Maybe the evolution of art and religion explores relationship of nature to the divine?
Does a religious expression or theme require a production or presentation from the divine as a basis or foundation?
Depends on if you consider modern art as “Art”?
Where art is cognitive based on nature, religion is cognitive based on meaning?
How has religion evolved? Do not the religious still consider ancient text as the ultimate source of truth?
Show me an old religion that has changed (evolved) its core message of sacrifice and altruism?

@@RandomGuy-jo8ky hmm, the root of science lays in a way in magical thinking 🧙♂️
Could religion have been a divine reply of meaning to art expression of nature?
They did and still are.
