- Ride onboard this Historic Racing 64 Ford Falcon Rally Sprint and enjoy its high rpm 289 Windsor V8 with its monster camshaft! The Rally Sprint was an incredible car, a limited build, designed to compete in the Monte Carlo rally during the early 60s. It was a lightweight racer with one job to do, go out and try to win! We check this machine out at the 2021 Phillip Island Classic, Australia, in the Group N Historic racing category, where muscle cars and classic cars of all makes and models up to 1972 battle it out in the ultimate historic motorsport contest, on one of the best racing circuits in the world. Lemans, Spa, Monterey, Laguna Seca, Bathurst, Mount Panorama, are all venues that race cars like these compete at and the Phillip Island Grand Prix circuit stands proudly among them.
At Master of Machines, we love cars, in fact, we love anything with wheels or an engine, from American Muscle Cars to Australian Muscle Cars, Race Cars and Classic Cars of all kinds and even Barn Finds. If it's fast, powerful, restored or hidden away in hibernation then we'll cover it, and in most cases, we'll even drive them!

Nothing beats the sound of a pissed off small block Windsor V8!
With that short stroke they definitely scream, definitely nothing like them.

They sound like *F.O.R.D.*
Love the sound of a hi revving Windsor V8

Hi mate : ) You are not the only one. These Falcons are beautiful cars, and looks awesome with this style. I work on my 1970 Cougar convertible / Eliminator tribute, and when completed she will be built with this agressive style. - Best greetings, and peace and love from Norway ❤🥀🌻☮
That little Windsor is pulling some nice rpm down the straight 😍😍👍👍
That Snarl ! ..music to the ears.
I always loved getting more from less, and with the 289 it’s definitely a can do motor.
Awesome video. I recently bought a '64 Falcon Sprint to restore and plan to go with a vintage racer theme. This car is quite the inspiration and man that Windsor sounds fantastic.
All the aerodynamics of a flying brick but damn ain't she a beauty 😍
ford needs to bring back that 289 displacement for nostalgia to say the very least, the sound is soul stirring.
Nice ride 🍻
Love my Cleveland's but the 289 is a badass motor
Great looking car and awesome sounding engine
That’s one of the most eargasmic sounds I’ve ever heard. Damn that’s an angry motor!
Seems like he's taking it steady int the bends I wonder why ? Was hoping to see him pass things lol The 289 sounds mega on the straits at 7k ❤️
Running narrow tires. It would be a blast to see this car w/ more rubber on the road. 👍
@@josephtravers777 well fair enough that makes sense, I agree get some wide sticky tyres on and it would be epic to watch...
I wonder if it's a race rules /class thing limited to a certain tyre

"That's one Tuff lil Windsor V8"

love it. 960kg and a 289 is on point!
Runs against porches in 60s......marvellous little engine...
Historic mill
perfect daily driver
I bought a new 1964 Sprint in 1964 early and it had a 260 cu in with a four speed.
I have a late 64 Mercury Comet Caliente 289 T 10 four speed
I bought a new 1963 Fairlane500 and it had a 221 Cu. In. V8. The precursor to the 260 and 289. It had a whopping 145 horsepower but I did win drag races with it.
That was fresh and new 👍👍
I can’t imagine when Shelby put the 289 in the AC Ace chassis pulling out 500 HP in a less than 2000 lbs car what it must have been like .
Memories are all us old geezers have , technology moves on to the new generation but boy has it gotten to be expensive , today it’s a rich man’s sport .
Ahhh Jervis Ward. Been around a while now. Had a Cortina first, then a Stang, now this. Pretty sure I've seen him pedalling a Group A Bimmer too.
yes he did have Jim Richard's old M3
Sounds great.
Very happy little 289 right there. JJG
Great stuff Glenn 👍
Dat tang is whooping!
That what I talking about. Great 👍
Love this. Did you get the suspension system right yet
Great video
That was great Glenn. I could sit here with my whiskey and listen to that for an hour! Are you coming up for Morgan Park?
Glad you’re enjoying it mate. I am heading up to the TCM round there in June for Gulf Western Oil. I’m their ambassador and representative for all the TCM rounds. 😊
@@GlennEverittMasterofMachines Awesome. See you there.
Lots of RPM in that Small Block Ford Windsor!
This is Sick! 👍🏻👊🏻🍻
Interesting. Did he say 960kg from the factory? That's incredible. Same weight as an XU-1.... but with 500hp.
That said, the 6-inch wheels are killing it in the corners.
Loved it! I was wondering why the oil temp kept moving around so much from corner to corner as if the probe was being uncovered and recovered and reading higher . They must not run any fans either as it was very warm at the start and cooled when they got going.
Chip, have you seen our video with the 427 Lightweight Galaxie onboard?
What happened at the 8:06 mark when that Mustang went flying by?? It would also be a 289, as well as Falcon and Mustang chassis being almost totally identical!
I'd say that the mustang is geared differently
As you can here him bouncing it off the limiter

It is obvious everybody loves that sound. Thanks for bringing it to us. The only other thing I enjoy is your accent.
Not a ford man at all but 289 is an awesome little engine always sounded good too
Wow...sounds better than a coyote engine
Sounds great , but this looked like a Sunday drive with my grandmother.....
très excitant!!
Nice work glennO, tume to see a vid of you racing?
Thanks mate! Yes, you will see me racing soon. :-)
Nice vid bud, heart the misses or the 289 would sound tame lol
Oh my word! :O
Nice 🇸🇪👍🇦🇺
👍👍
❤️👍
Thought you were talking about the rx2!
Did you see the RX2 video we did?
5:42 what was that?!
My lord
Well,,,,,,,,,,. At least the steering wheel is on the correct side.
Jervis talks like he is going through gears. Revs go up as he finishes he sentences, then the next gear..
Watch him play peek a boo in the mirror.
He said it was a 302 block.
It’s the same bore size, yet still using the 289 crank. So it stays at 289. Original Windsor blocks are getting hard to source so they allow them to use the new aftermarket Boss 302 block.
@@GlennEverittMasterofMachines Ok thank you for that info. It's a Screamer for sure.
ARGENTINA ruclips.net/video/bHi8vseCBC4/видео.html
He’s pulling eight grand sometimes
Doesn't seem to like going around corners
Nice little motor, shame they didn't put someone behind the wheel who can handle it.
banshee from gta 3
spends more time looking behind than in front no wonder hes halfway down the field..
Bloody hell, what Unnecessary annoying noise, Bring 9n electric cars, Cleaner and quieter.
Damn I didn't know this was made small block Fords in Australia
