Will be nice to see a step-by-step firmware update and if it can be done online or not, and during the procedure, it requires rebooting the whole enclosure or just the management module one by one?

Hi, sorry I missed your comment before. You unfortunately have to restart the switch for a firmware update - although I've been told that you can do it live if you have Aruba Central. I haven't used that myself, but I will be playing with that in a few months time.

All HP/Aruba switches have backup and primary slots for firmware. My personal method is to upload the file via the web gui and do backup image 1st, reboot and then do primary. I stagger it like that just in case something is dodgy with the update. It is slow to do 2 reboots, but then again I'm not updating our switches every week.

Hi, I have 5406Rzl2 (J9850A) switch, so i configure ip igmp on vlan IPTV, if i remove the igmp configuration, le réseau sera perturbé et instable. have You any idea about this situation.
    Thank you

A lot of IPTV systems use multicast. Without IGMP the switch will treat it as generic broadcast traffic, which could use up significant bandwidth.

Hi, is that switch a good option for a Multicast LAN network?

It depends on the density of the network. Or smaller network it's goof and you can enable and disable multicast support by VLAN. For larger networks the CX series switches will probably give better performance

does this unit still have the menu for a lot of the quick setups

I missed your comment when you made it, I'm trying to do a bit of a catch as I seem to have missed a lot! There is still a menu, but using it is very cumbersome, and some things can only be set via CLI.

Its not cumbersome, and you can do 90% of the setups you will need from there in seconds. this includs creating and assigning vlans/ time and date server / ip address, and more particularly if you are not using ip routing

Sorry for the very late response! You can get all firmware images directly from the arubanetworks.com website, without needing to sign in. They also have Aruba firmware for some of the last gen HPE switches
