Mí is a prepositional pronoun. In other words, it's a pronoun we use after prepositions 'a mí, para mí, por mí', etc. 🤓 Yeah, Spanish pronouns are picky like that!
@@TellMeInSpanishEng what’s crazy to me about learning Spanish is that I’m learning more about English than I ever did growing up in the USA. Also I swear my reading level in English has increased exponentially from studying Spanish. I think spending a lot of time learning Spanish while living in the USA connected new neural pathways in my brain. I absolutely fly through English books now it’s pretty wild to be honest. Man it’s not easy learning another language when you aren’t in that native language country!
@@clath2823same exact experience, learning about the preterite, subjunctive, imperfect, indicative tenses has increased my understanding of language in general. Absolutely amazing!
@@clath2823 i thought maybe this is a fun fact to share😅 I’m not from the US and English is not my first language. In The Netherlands its very important to learn our own grammar and language this exact way. I would say it’s 70% of our Dutch classes from when we’re 8/9 until 16. They do this to help us write better. I always thought it was a waste of time until i started learning other languages like English, German and Spanish. I think learning these rules in your own language is very useful. I hope to get better at English and Spanish and i wish you a lot of luck with it too(:

Hi, can you please explain why if 'yo' is the doer, we do not say 'Yo gasté mil euros.' but rather 'Me gasté mil euros.'? In spending money I am the one doing the action am I not?
'Mí' is always used after prepositions! 🙂 'A' is a preposition. This construction (a mí) is very common with verbs like 'gustar' to emphasize or clarify who likes something.
thank you so much, I saw the preposition, but I thought maybe sometimes Yo could have preposition, now I know not to ever have preposition with Yo.@@TellMeInSpanishEng
That's what I want to know. Duolingo (which is Spain-ish) often says it with a j sound (like "Joe") but I am certain that I usually hear "yo" out in the wild ;) Anyway, in this video, she's definitely got a j sound going on....
Here are the corrections! 1. Yo quiero aprender español (use the subject pronoun when talking about actions you perfom) 2. Yo me bañé con agua fría ('bañarse' is a reflexive verb, so we must use 'me') 3. Correct! 🤗 4. Correct! 🤗 5. Correct! 🤗
When we express liking something in Spanish, we conjugate the verb based on the person or thing that is causing the feeling of liking. This might seem confusing because the word order is different from English. But check: "El chocolate me gusta / Me gusta el chocolate", "Las películas no me gustan"...The conjugation matches the subject...So, "tú corres"...."tú me gustas". The subject is not the person experiencing the feeling, but rather causing it.

Can you please explain why 'mi' has 'A' before it but 'Yo' and 'Me' don't?

I agree with you, this video was very helpful for me!
this is incredibly helpful, thank you!
¡Gracias a ti! 🥰
great video! Gracias!
Great video!! You explained it well!
¡Muchas gracias!
A mi trabajo, quise decir "Push the paper toward me", "Empuja el papel hacia mí" pero no estuve seguro si debería usar "mí o yo".
¡No te culpo! 😅 Elegir entre tantos pronombres puede ser difícil, pero ahora ya sabes :) Por cierto, en español decimos "En mi trabajo" 🙂
1:Yo 2:me 3:mí 4:mi 5:me
¡Perfecto! 😉

spanish is so complicated and spicy
😂yup, Spanish has its complexities. Hopefully, I can help you may the journey less complicated and spicy 😊
Great Video!
Thank you!
1. Yo 2. no idea but i will guess "me" 3. mi 4. mi 5. me
😉you got it! In #2, 'me' is the reflexive pronoun "Yo me baño, yo me visto".

1. Yo
2. Me
3. Mí
4. Mí
5. Yo
The last one is "me". Dile a Juan que me llame (tell Juan to call me) 🙂. But aside from that, everything else was perfect 😉
I heard using e visitado vs yo visitado - it was in a Spanish lesson and I don’t know the difference?
Maybe it was 'yo he visitado'? Yo visitado it's incorrect 😬
My superhero is Jesus Christ
1. Yo 2. Me 3. Mi 4. Mi 5. Me
All perfect!! 🤓
1. yo
2. mr
3. mí
4. ? yo o mí
5. me
Great! 🤓 #4 is "mí" because we have that preposition 'a': "A mí me gustan los chocolates".
"Djoh" or "Yoh"???
That's what I want to know. Duolingo (which is Spain-ish) often says it with a j sound (like "Joe") but I am certain that I usually hear "yo" out in the wild ;)

q1 mi
q2 yo soy
q3 para mi
q4 mí?
q5 me

2. Yo me bañé con agua fría ('bañarse' is a reflexive verb, so we must use 'me')

@@themanok178 It was really good! 😉
But why “me gustas tú” according from what you said I thought it was yo 😔
It's like saying you please me, not I like you. So tu is the direct object and me is the one being pleased.
