I don't know why, but whenever I go to other French channels, they make me feel like a stranger because I literally can't understand much of what they say. On this channel, it's like I'm practicing with not a stranger, but a best friend. There is no crazy slang or too complex, and it's also amusing too. Merci Aurélie !
This is exactly what happened to us in Paris last fall! My wife (originally from Bangkok, where everyone seems to only eat beef if its EXTREMELY well-done [like "shoe leather"! ]) ordered a steak to be well-done with "no red visible". The waiter got REALLY nervous, and said he could NOT ask this of the chef! In the end, the steak had a small bit of red - and I ended up eating it, not my wife. (Additionally, it was a fantastic and well-prepared steak!) However, from an American perspective, and while I tend to agree with almost all French traditions and customs, it is rather silly for a chef not to provide the customer what they request (even if the chef disagrees).
Culture gap, simple as that. In America the customer is always king no matter how stupid they are, in France (and some other European places too) the customer is king as long as they're not being idiots. Which is kind of the French way of being nice, they're trying to stop you from making a fool of yourself so they're actually helping you ;)
Oui monsieur. The steak was delicious. However, I nearly choked to death on the “wine”. Normally, the grapes are supposed to be mashed *before* you bottle it 😉.

Hello! Is there anyone there?? Aurélie!! Please upload something.
5% tip for such a good advice. That's a different tipping culture than in the US XD
I guess that lady is a bit stungy, it should be more like 10%
@@yourbestfrench 😄
That's because waiters are actually paid a living wage so any tips are a bonus, not a necessity.
