  • #PostalPleasures Presents: Worldwide Stamps Ep5 - Unboxing & Sorting
I am excited to explore this 4 pound box of stamps with you. Most stamps in a lot like this will be lower value but some times we get lucky and find a high value #stamp. This was one of those times! I found an awesome German allied zone postally used 3 Mark stamp with a Michel catalog value of $25. That may not be the expensive million dollar stamp you were hoping for but 25 dollars is a pretty big deal for me. That said I am a #collector at heart so price is not the most important factor but it is exciting.
While pulling out the few tongs of stamps I show in this video I also found a few interesting concentrations of stamps I will feature in upcoming videos. United Nations, Albania, and some modern (1970s & 1980s) mint stamps, mostly fun topicals including African animals, Walt Disney, & Christmas themes.
I love to hear from you, please tell me your favorite stamp from the lot and let me know if there are any topics you would like me to cover in the future. Thanks for watching!

Your unboxings are very enjoyable and relaxing. Where in the world to you get these huge boxes!? Are they expensive?

Hi Laura, thanks for watching! I used to buy these boxes on ebay but I have not been able to win one in over a year as the price as skyrocketed out of my budget. I like to pay under $20 per pound for off paper stamps. Lots I have missed lately have ended closer to $50 per pound.

@@PostalPleasures TY! I don't know enough about EBay to be a confident bidder. Prices are probably up because a lot of people (me included) are working from home and dusting off the hobby that we put away years ago. I made my first purchase off Marketplace and am with you, a very conservative budget, :). My $8 included postage to mail so we'll see what these eight old Mystic Envelopes bring. I also like how you store your stamps in a card catalog. Looking forward to your next post.

I also sort stamps like in this video. Three hours to short 1000 stamps by countries and into envelops. 500 stamps will weigh about 30 grams.

The stamp at 6:40 which you were unsure about is , indeed, from Hungary. This stamp was issued in 1919, which was a very turbulent time in Hungarian history. This is evident by all the occupation issues of Hungary that were issued in 1919. The first period of Communist control of Hungary took place during part of 1919 , before Hungary reverted to being a kingdom. Two sets of stamps were issued in Hungary during the first Communist period and the stamp shown at 6:40 was from the first set. This is why the inscription which identifies the country appears somewhat different from other Hungarian stamps.

The China stamp appears to be East China (5L) number, The Italian stamp with Africa Oriental Italiana is Italian East Africa. The stamp that you did not think was Bulgaria is Bulgaria (RA) number along with then mystery stamp with the post horn also being Bulgaria. The stamp that you said some people don't consider it a real stamp was cut off at the bottom. Too bad since I like the unusual I would have liked to have seen that. And yes the East Africa stamp with the Nairobi cancel is a very nice stamp.

I normally use books not websites but if you need a website I recommend stampworld.com

A video like this should be super relaxing, but you sound like you're running a marathon. How can you be out of breath sorting stamps? Please, next video make sure your breathing is inaudible, it would greatly improve the video quality.
