Egypt officially gained independence on June 18, 1953. The 1922 Unilateral Declaration of Independence only gave Egypt semi-independence, more than other colonies like Sudan, but less than dominions like Australia, so not fully independent.
@@ElIisL4D2 While the UK and Egypt did sign an independence agreement, the UK only recognized it with great restriction by the reserved point clause. Even if they didn't declare war on Germany, they were still a main frontline of WW2 being invaded and having British troops in most of Egypt, so is it really independence?
@@fantasiamapping Yes, they were given the military access by Egypt, most of those troops were from the Suez and stuff like that. And most of the troops on the frontline weren't Egyptian, besides the few or so volunteers.

But Egypt was already independent by 1922. I get it's alternate, but it seems nothing changed before 1945.
