I've had Serum for about 3 years now....never knew what I was doing with it though. I always just used presets. I should've just watched this video from the beginning. Thank you!!!
@@gaving321 I'm still not great with it, but after watching tons of "how synthesizers work" videos (not just Serum), I started to get a better idea of what does what
Dude this is just the perfect amount of explanation. I click away from so many vids because they will get into different wave shapes and stuff and what they sound like. I just wanna know how Serum is organized… thanks so much for the excellent explanation, even on the little things like the tick marks in the filter box
That's an almost perfect tutorial. Fast but clear, well presented, well narrated. The ordering of the information is pertinent, really, fantastic teaching. Thanks!
I’ve used nothing but presets in Serum for 5 years now, mainly because it just seemed so intimidating. But I have finally decided to tackle it. This video was so very easy to follow. I would definitely recommend this video to anyone who wants to learn sound design inside of Serum. Thank you for this excellent video!
Thank you im a newbie to mixing and Ive been watching alot of studio one and VST videos and your to the point without becoming boring or lingering long on one thing. And you explained ALL the buttons and what they do which is what i needed, TY. So many tutorials where they are drawn out for an hour and could have summed it up like yours in 20 min. Great tutorial.

Thanks for making this video, I'm completely new at making /producing music, this video was exactly what people like me with 0 experience need to start wrapping our heads around these concepts! God bless!
The way you explained was so amazing man, great video! I recently bought the Ace serum presets packs a few days ago and they are already great too but your video helped me shape the sounds to fit better with my production. Sometimes its the little things that matter and knowing the way the sounds are made is really good to know so you can make it work with all the drums and bass and it blends so well now, so thanks again! Great video :) :)
Another thumbs up for a great video with just the right amount of detail for a new Serum user. Now I can get into tutorials for making specific types of sounds and know why i'm twiddling different knobs 😂
This was one of the BEST tutorials I've ever seen on the internet, no cap. You were so easy to follow throughout the entirety of the video and you went in detail with every single section. Thank you so much for this, it helps out IMMENSELY. Instant subscribe/like!!!
man this was a huge inspiration finally understanding serum. Ive stuck with logic but i recently bought fl and serum and was so lost. This is giving me the motivation to finally pursue the sound ive always wanted
Thank you soooo much for this video! I'm surprised I didn't come across it sooner. I was going through the Xfer Serum Manual and instantly got overwhelmed, making go on and off trying serum or just blindly going in and not knowing what I was doing. Now I definitely feel more confident with experimenting with sound design after watching your video. You got a like and a subscribe from me. Keep up the good work, mate!
Thank you so much! This was so l very informative! Pretty new to serum and things like it. This helps me to understand a few other tools in my arsenal as well so double thank you!
Thankyou so much. I have tried Ableton a few times with serum and just can’t get my head around it. This was perfect! I can’t wait to go back and have another go now
Thanks for making a cool video. I have been looking for new channels lately so not to get stuck with the same old thing during my RUclips watching hours. Only one small critique is that gain is not a synonym for volume. It's actually an interesting topic that people sometimes never find out that something they thought was true, is not. It happens to me all the time. Have fun and keep them coming.
Really nice tutorial! Compared to other ones, this one actually explains very well how to use it and how you can make your own cool sounds. Im currently thinking of buying it and get it so I can create my signature sound and start using it in my music! Anyways, thanks for the vid :)
for the demo go offline after starting up ableton, set your time a year in the future, then start serum, then you can go back online and you can use it to learn easier to bypass the 20 minutes. They should just disable saving and importing sounds. Hopefully this helps.
@Poppo World PA you what mate. this easy shit is harder than the ridiculous stuff you do in school? come on man you just have to spend some time to understand it
@@ashleycorp349 Thats exactly what happened to me when I first got ableton live suite I had almost no experience with music programs and within a month I made my first two songs the my first one was pretty shitty but my second song was actually good. So now I'm saving up for this so I can make some dubstep or anything becasus I am sick of downloading some random wavetable sounds that ppl have made I think its time I start making my own. Like no joke practice makes perfect.
this is not for beginners, this is for EVERYONE, its everything needed in a condensed concise form. from here you can get deeper yourself messing around with the software over time.

Does serum come with sounds like alchemy?
i have a problem, i have a setting, and it sounds ok...but when i render it doesn't apply the pattern A E I but just A. any idea what is happening?

For the fist time, I had a clear understanding on how Serum's signal chain works.

This is an absolutely awesome intro to serum. You explain everything very well and its a solid watch.
I swear you do not get enough subs and views considering how high quality your vids are
Could be the commercial/ad that precedes the actual reason people clicked on it.
Thanks so much for the clear and simple way of explaining it...will play around with Serum and follow what I just learned here!
What a great walkthrough!!! I have had serum for years and never understood the interface even though I know synthesis. Thank you
finally a real tutorial. So many just kind of do stuff without explaining anything. thank you very much!!!
