I have repaired many of the Simpson meters for a company I worked for. I loved these meters. They were the best before the dvm. I still use one when I need to check a circuit with possible oscillation when my scope is not handy. Thank you for another excellent video. Your video recording is superb.
Fully agree with your comments regarding use of analog meters
My first 260 has been with me since 1971. Most work doesnt need DVM accuracy. Most 260’s I have found on Ebay are beyond saving from battery leakage, so I stopped buying them. 5 is enough.
So i´m a poor guy - i have only 2 of them....hi.
That’s a great meter, but you’re right: there are a lot of idiots out there messing with stuff they should leave alone. Good job, and thanks for the video.
Thanks dr Manuel
Well done, Stefan. Another instrument on its way to a second life. Yes, it has to be said, there are some idiots out there. Hopefully this idiot has learned a lesson - look but don't touch! I look forward to the alignment and upgrades. Regards, David
Yes and the mount trash grows a little bit slower. But i don´t think that the guys who should watch this video are watching it. Only the guys who knows what to do are watching this.
I suspect a cold beer is needed at the end of part 2. Stefan, I enjoy your humor and wit. "There is a bunch of idiots outside." Who puts diodes in backwards with jumpers and mistakes a 22 ohm with a 22K resistor? LOL Oh, if only this meter could talk! It would make a great story and perhaps a movie. 73 OM
Yes, right!! It´s cruel sometimes but it creates the possibility to acquire a good meter at low price...hi. But maybe the resistors where burnt and the printing was unreadable - but a schematic is available in the net.
immer wieder ein Genuss 73 klaus
Danke!
Stefan, the last adjustment have been done with the instrument in horizontal position, right? Mein Englisch ist nicht sehr gut :).
All alignments have been done in vertical position. But i only said they should have been done in horizontal position
I agree, too many idiots. I was an rf tech and I have ran into a lot of the idiots repair attempts.
But without those idiots we would have less interesting projects.....hi.
