    • @BobbeeSingh

      Not its the indian system being mocked under the guise of some other system being mocked and its just not a comedy show. it only operates under that banner to get away with lots of things they wouldn't otherwise.

    When in the USA in May 2014, the Daily Show was about the only media outlet that even acknowledged that there was a momentous election going on in India. Jason Jones is constantly a millisecond away from sarcastic, ironic hilarity. American humor at it finest, making fun of itself, with uninformed aplomb, and a little raunchy thrown in for good measure.

      India is the only country which houses lineage based races, that is each community descends from one single forefather. At least true for the lineages of Brahmins, Kshatriya and Vaishya. We don't have a pseudo race called the white race or the black race, each of whom out of a random 100 will have at least 50 different paternal genetic haplogroup. In India, pick 100 males from a certain caste , you will have people with 100 of them possessing a single genetic lineage. That is what's really a race. Not like your pseudo race- white race , as perpetuated by globalists to confuse the world about what really is a race.

    • @ZhangtheGreat
      @ZhangtheGreat 8 лет назад +9

      +Jack Burns That's exactly why: lawmakers don't want to empower people to vote because they're worried they'll lose their seats. That's why districts are Gerrymandered to the point where our votes make no difference. Check out the episode of Adam Ruins Everything that explains all this (it's up on RUclips).

    • @ZhangtheGreat
      @ZhangtheGreat 7 лет назад +8

      Nikhil Vishal The elections themselves are, but the other factors that contribute to election results aren't. Our Congressional district boundaries are drawn by the representatives we've elected, which pretty much guarantees that they'll win every election (because of course they'll draw district boundaries where people will re-elect them).

    Thanks Daily Show for doing this segment. When India hardly gets any coverage in the western world, you did this wonderful series of segments on our voting system.
    Our voting system is a matter of pride for us Indians. With little money and resources, we have made it possible to use technology to facilitate our elections.
    Election Commission of India, Supreme Court of India, Electronics Corporation of India Ltd. (that designed the electronic voting machine or EVM), other organizations such as IIT Bombay, Bharat Electronics Ltd. and countless volunteers made the 100% electronic voting possible in India since 1990s.
    I am in my 30s now and I NEVER ever voted on paper in India. It is quite an achievement for a country with more than 800 million voters when we see compare it with election systems in US and Canada among others.
    My father (a retired university professor) was one of the earliest master trainers for the EVMs in India and over a period 10 years, he trained thousands of trainers plus prepared training and instructional materials. In 1989, I was a little girl, he showed me the first model of the EVM, it was such a simple machine.

    Funny how they forgot to mention how India does indeed have voter ID laws. In fact you need a ID card specifically meant for voting in order to vote.
