- When I reached out to Akko about putting together a great gaming board and they asked if I would like to showcase the ACR Top 75 for your folks I was over the moon. I am honored to have the opportunity to present Akko's take on this tried and true mounting method to all of you. Today we're going to build this bad girl with some Akko POM Silver switches, because gamer, and then we're going to top it with Akko's new JDA Fuji keycaps. Akko is a brand that sucks at the beginning, but they've improved so much since then, and I like Akko by that thing, they listen to the feedbacks, and they catch the trending very quick. MOD series after the Gmmk Pro trending (actually the gasket mount and exploded 75% layout trending). This top mount version is like a much cheaper version of Kbd75.
Akko definitely trying to shed some of the bad juju from earlier days and is making some really great stuff now, for sure!
this literally shot to the top of my list after this, I might get alu thought because I only have plastic boards atm, although in retrespect I'll probably have to wait on restock as I am limited on funds atm. thanks for the vid as usual.

Right, man?! Its insane! If you're into that Moontower-like aesthetic then this is a no-brainer for sure. Heck, even the new Cloud Driver software isn't all that bad now.
This is such a great board and layout, i just wish akko would make their stuff VIA compatible
Thanks for checking out the video! VIA would be nice for people with a multi-board ecosystem but if this is one of or your only board the new Akko Cloud Driver is actually quite robust and more than most people need. Glad you like the build!

Thank you for the video. I'm still deciding between this or a Mod 007s. Since I've been using Ducky One 3 SF and Mountain Everest 60 ... I have no experience with both gasket mount and top mount... its gonna be a hit or miss on this :D Comparing with your Mod 007 v2, which one do you prefer? Still the Mod?
Plus acrylic vs aluminium. I have the feeling i prefer the sound signature of acrylic but i may be wrong, since I'm working with youtube assumptions :)
I dont prefer the Mod or the Top 75. They are both excellent and each time I built them they stayed on my desk for far longer than anticipated. I am currently typing this on the Top 75. Both are great boards and you should make your decision based on materials and mounting style. The Top 75 is more rigid feeling and sounding while the Mod 007 is a softer typing feel and sound signature due to the material inclusions. You really can't go wrong with either one of them.

heyyy does anyone know how to get the keyboard to just be 1 single rgb color? i cant find the option in the software nor can i figure out the keybind for it!
You can change it in the Cloud Driver software. I currently run mine as a solid color peachy background glow to accent the keycaps.
I hope Akko starts selling those double shot stabs. It came with my 5075b plus and they don't need holee mod to be good just some lube (and wire balancing if ever) is enough.
Edit: how do you compare the Top 75 with the mod007/006? I'm choosing between the mod and the top (aluminum ver.) for my next board
Absolutely would be amazing if they started selling those stabs. As for which board is better I think it all comes down to layout and mounting preference. Both series are pretty amazing.
I really like the Akko boards but only wished that they were QMK/VIA compatible, I'm glad they started doing south facing pcbs
They will never have QMK due to technological limitations but there are talks of VIA/VIAL integration. Crossing my fingers they get it soon. its the only thing holding them back. However, I will say the new Akko Cloud Driver is pretty nice. Definitely not going to hold most people back not having QMK. Most people for some reason just associate QMK with quality but don't realize its only a standard due to accessibility when in reality the Cloud Driver will do most of what QMK/VIA can do for the majority of people. Akko has definitely come a long way.

What screw in stabs would fit on the plate? Tried staebies but it doesnt fit
Staebies and TX are going to somewhat fat. Its tough because Akko plates is designed for plate mount stabs so I have heard and experienced some slight fitment issues. Your best bet is going to be Durock v2 or Cherry clip-in. However, I've been driving the thing since I built it and even without properly lubing, tuning or modding these stabs are still doing really well with just a simple injection tune.
@@punkshoo do you think c3 stabs would fit? As much as possible I want to avoid durock v2 stabs cause I wanna try different stabs
Any stabs will work with a little modification. You may need to file a bit of material off the plate or stab housing but they will work. If you want a drop-in no-work solution you'll want to find something similarly specced to Akko's PCB mount stabs. C3v3 seem to have normal sized housings so they should fit but don't quote me on it. I cant tell you every stab that fits 100% because I didn't test every stab and Im not taking the board apart right now as I am enjoying it quite a bit with the stock stabs.
I'll be getting that board tomorrow. Is it better than mod007s? I've been waiting for the new color version of 007s and the moment they released it, I already bought top 75
I think its preference, really. I really love my Mod boards. They are some of my favorite keebs. This really has that nice top mounted sound and feel with the MASSIVE RGB being a huge bonus if you're into that sort of thing.

Literally the only difference between the Mod 007S v2 and the Mod 007 v2 is the south facing PCB. Other than that they are identical. So my opinions based on the Mod 007 v2, which I own and is one of more favorite boards, is still valid. And, again, it comes down to preference in aesthetics, layout, mounting style, and case materials. Functionally they're pretty comparable. People trying to decide between the Top 75 and the Mod 007S v2 just need to pick their preference of the aforementioned differences.
Where does this stack with Keychron v1 value wise?
For me personally? V1 lived on my desk for 3 days. This has been on my desk for nearly a month straight.
how does this compare to the acr pro 68/75
Pro is gasket mounted and has north-facing PCB in base configuration. Gasket is a softer, flexier, and bouncier typing experience with a more muted sound profile. Top mount is a stiffer more classic feeling typing experience. The Top 75 includes a brass plate which is not available in the Pro series.
im ordered them and im hoping they are better than the original acr75 since my broke after 3 months
Sorry to hear that your ACR Pro 75 broke. Seems a bit odd. Hopefully you contacted Akko support to get whatever was wrong fixed.

should i tape mod this board?
Its comes with an IXPE switch pad so its not necessary to tape mod it. However, feel free to experiment with it if the stock sound signature isn't hitting the mark for you. This is where preference will come into play.
Does the acr pro 75 work in xbox
It uses a standard driver so it should. You'll need a PC in order to change keybinds, though.

They should focus on semi decent stabilisers
Would love to see them move their process they use on the plate mounted stabs to the PCB mounted ones and start offering them included with their more premium offerings for sure at the very least.

170 for the aluminium version... 12 left in stock. My PayPal is blocked because they need to vall me for verification but they don't have my nr lol and it's literally unfixable.
