  • Peace Corps frequently serves as a pathway to service-oriented careers for many returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs). This includes service to the United States and its citizens as a federal government employee. The Partnership for Public Service recognizes noteworthy and inspiring accomplishments of individuals in the federal workforce each year through the Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Medals. Join recent Sammie winners who have a connection to the Peace Corps to learn more about how their service journey as a Peace Corps Volunteer has led them to a meaningful and impactful career in the federal government and how the skills, knowledge, and attitudes learned in the Peace Corps make RPCVs highly sought after federal employees.
