    In the 1940s when Hollywood's leading men were serving in World War II, young Gregory Peck volunteered, but was rejected for a physical disability. He decided to perform in the theater, where Hollywood agents, impressed with his Lincolnesque personna, thought he might be good in films.
    His film star looks and penetrating voice made him a natural and he became the ultimate movie star. Talented and lacking ego, he went on to become an award winning film legend.

    I hardly know how to begin. Thank you Steve for making a Top 50 video on my favourite actor of all time! I like to call him My Darling Greg. I have seen 49 movies listed. The one I am missing is Shoot Out. Outside this list, I have not seen his cameo in Amazing Grace and Chuck and there is a TV film with his daughter and Bacall called The Portrait I have not seen. My favourite movie of all time is The Guns of Navarone. Other favourites include Roman Holiday, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Gunfighter, How the West Was Won, Twelve O'clock High, The Big Country, Yellow Sky, Captain Horatio Hornblower, Cape Fear (original), Mirage, Captain Newman, MD, Designing Women, Arabesque, Pork Chop Hill, The Stalking Moon (Hitchcockian), The World in His Arms, The Sea Wolves, Makenna's Gold, and others. One film I haven't seen since before he died is The Yearling. I am avoiding it as it is too sad.
    How to pick favourite posters and stills? Well, I'll try. Favourites are To Kill a Mockingbird, Roman Holiday, The Big Country, The Guns of Navarone, The Gunfighter, How the West Was Won, Cape Fear (original), Spellbound, The Yearling, Captain Horatio Hornblower, Mirage, Yellow Sky, Pork Chop Hill, Duel in the Sun, Designing Woman, Bravadoes, Captain Newman MD, The Stalking Moon, The World in His Arms, Arabesque, MacArthur, Behold a Pale Horse, The Purple Plain, The Snows of Kilimanjaro, The Macomber Affair, The Paradine Case (not a great film), David and Bathsheba, Beloved Infidel, and the final still. Fabulous!

      Hi Flora, so happy you liked the video. I know Greg is a big favorite of yours. Only one missed from the 50! That is very impressive. I've seen 28 that I know for sure, maybe more. My favorites include Mackennas Gold, The Big Country, How the West Was Won, Guns of Navarone, Horatio Hornblower, Marooned, Mockingbird, Spellbound, Cape Fear (1962), Boys from Brazil and The Omen. A great post Flora thanks, glad you liked the posters and stills. Another big favorite of yours is out on wednesday.

    The Paradine Case should be a lot higher on the list - one of his best performances. The Boys from Brazil was one of the few if not the only film where Peck played the villain. My personal favorites are Cape Fear (though really Mitchum carries it as a fantastically portrayed villain) and Roman Holiday.

    sorry boys and girls but in the video "CAPE FEAR" is repeated twice. On top of that there is a big missing -> "The scarlet and the black". I suggest to replaced the repeated cape fear by this movie. Does somebody agree with me?

    • @Top10Charts3978
      @Top10Charts3978  3 года назад

      Hi there, there are two Cape Fears the original 1962 version and the 1991 remake starring Robert De Niro. In the remake Gregory Peck has an important role as a lawyer. The Scarlet and the Black is a TV movie, when I was making those videos I tried to avoid including TV movies. Hope that helps.

    I put Twelve O'Clock High as #1, and World In his Arms, Captain Newman and Moby Dick are in his top 15. For me Big Country is not in top 5, maybe its in top 15. And Yellow Sky is in top 10. Spellbound and Designing Woman are not as high for me. Night People is pretty good, Greg is more forthright than normal. Yellow Sky, Gunfighter and Bravados are his best westerns in my view. Roman Holiday, Guns of Navarone and TKAMB tie for 2nd place, Twelve O'Clock High is my #1. Captain Newman, Captain Horatio, Keys to Kingdom and On The Beach round out my top Greg films. I luv him and always have, since I was 11, thats over 40 yrs now. Greg is definitely the most handsome & manly actor ever, he is the epitome of *beautiful masculinity* that weakens my knees. He's got a good 20 films that I can watch & watch again. Other than my ratings, your rating is pretty good.

I'm amazed that you can remember details on all the films you've watched, my memory is so bad that I probably wouldn't remember if I liked an old movie I'd only watched once years ago. 32 out of 50 is good, I managed 28, Flora has seen 49! I think she likes Greg. :) Navarone is one of my dads favorites too I think he saw it at the cinema when it first came out. I remember seeing The Omen at the cinema a couple of times in 1976 and than I went shopping for Jerry Goldsmith's Oscar winning music score. No Amazon back then, we had to leave the house to do our shopping, barbaric I know but thats how it was.
