- BMW recommends that you replace your first air filter at around 300 to 750 miles, then every 6,000 miles there after. In this video we show how to change the air filter on a BMW R1200GS Adventure. These steps will also apply to the R1200GS models. Having a good clean air filter helps prevent any debris or contaminants from getting into your motor and harming your engine components.

Absolutely mental at how bmw have been so user friendly for servicing
Damn Steve! You mage that easy..
I have a 1200s Monster..and it's a flipping major surgery just getting to the ***** air filter.
Next step....pick up a GSA
Thanks for this. The newer bikes can be a bit daunting (especially considering the cost of screwing it up!) and it’s great to see a hands-on demo of something any of us could safely do ourselves.
*Ben Smukler* That's our goal right there, to help our customers out. Thanks for watching our How-To!
Sure! I’m a relatively new customer of yours-having learned of your site from watching Kyle on Dirtbike Channel.
*Ben Smukler* Mr. Brothersen is a good dude. Appreciate the support.
There is some incorrect information. The air filter is not of the required 600 mile run in service. It is supposed to be done every 6000 miles.
good vid, many thanks. Since you are doing vids on the BMW GS, how about one showing how to take off the front and rear tire, especially since we buy tires from you?
"Go ahead and..." 😁
Never ceases to amaze me that people are still buying K&N garbage air & oil filters. Glad it's not my bike.
300 mi? I get the break in of engine oil/final gear oil, but the air filter?
Never really said what the contact cleaner was for. I'm guessing cleaning the airbox before replacing the filter
Thanks for the video, just a question: For those who have used it before, what is the best type of motor oil for the boxer engine: SAE 5W-40, API SL or JASO MA2?
super easy, not like in new Africa Twin...
*Robson Enduro* most definitely not like the AF. Thanks for watching sir!
