Drop your struggle meal 👇🏾 👀
Canned Sliced Potatoes and the cheap smoked Sausage fried in a skillet with your favorite seasoning and top with ketchup and hot sauce. One of the OG Struggle meals
Chopped up hot dogs in ramen noodles 😂
Idk if it’s considered a struggle meal but I would get a can of cream of mushroom, cream of celery, onion soup mix tuna and some frozen peas and have me some cream of tuna
Pancit canton hot and spicy noodles with white rice!!🇵🇭
Peanut butter & jelly sandwiches with cheetos 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Its pretty basic but the struggle meal I still love is Hamburger Helper (specifically the cheeseburger macaroni).
💯 pro tip: add a can of cream corn
@@sl5946 daaaaang, just got put on game.
Delicious and good for leftovers.
YES!!👍😋💯🎯💯
Ngl when I’m being lazy I cook some ground beef and throw it in some Kraft
It's criminal how under valued Schratz is, he always moves things along at a good pace, high qual footage and edits.
It's crazy that hes not bigger then other review channels that dont even try.
Real
We used to make a big pot of beans (pinto with bacon and onion) and eat those for days as a protein source. Eggs and beans kept us alive when I was little.
Hot dogs & Beans just hits different especially with those Kettle cook chips boi 🤣 Struggle meal: Wonder Bread with fried Bologne, American Cheese, Dorritos inside the sandwhich! With Chicken or Beef Ramen!
Top tier struggle meal for sure. I do the same thing 😂
And 10 times out of 10 imma drink the last lil bit of OJ to wash it down
I forgot about the fried bologna on wonder bread! That takes me back!
@@jeremiahmorris60look at Mr. Moneybags with his juice lol jk but I definitely had kool aid to wash it down
Struggle Foods? For me being in a Hispanic household, if there weren’t any other foods or simply too tired for cooking, my mom or dad would make Huevo con salchichas. Just eggs and cut up sausages cooked together and I was happy. 😊 Or if we had plenty, bologna sandwiches just with cheese and mayo on Honey wheat bread by natures own 😅. Ik it’s a bit weird to some but I am open to put out what I had when I was younger. No shame in a struggle meal!!!
Huevos con weenies is a breakfast of champions tbh
I love bologna sandwiches so I don’t blame you 😂
This is my childhood... But mom made cheap grits and cheese with the sausages and eggs and we had biscuits.. also we had sloppy Joe and spaghetti..ALSO BE LEAVE IT OR NOT WE WERE EATING POLLO ROJO AND I DONT THINK MY MOM KNEW. I WONDER WHERE WE GOT IT FROM WE ARE SO CALLED BLACK/AFRICAN AMERICAN..BUT HAVE ALWAYS ATE SOUTH AMERICAN FOOD..JUST INSITE
And a bo•log•na Sammie with some mustard ain't bad at all... Trust Me
crazy thing is am eating this right now watching the video 🤣 also doing a fried egg on top of white rice is the struggle meal for me, my grandma called it "arroz a caballo"
Man my struggle meal was Sloppy Joe (Manwich w/ ground beef, with a dash of sugar), toasted buns, American Cheese and some chips!
Doesn't the sloppy joe from the can already have sugar in it? Sounds too sweet if you add more
@@rnj323 not really, if anything it would cut through the vinegar a little, because Manwich is hella tangy.
Bro that's Tha one ... And you eat a lot of those too... And plain chips went harder than fries
Bean and weanies are a child hood classic. Some buttered toast and some beans and hot dogs were amazing growing up
There’s something about this dudes energy that just becomes contagious and gives you good energy too. I tend to stay to myself nowadays but I would actually hang out with this guy
My struggle meals growing up was hot dogs in bread slices lol or fish sticks, or them old school 90s tv meals.
Yes, the bread slices instead of the hotdog bun 😩
Growing up in the south, our struggle meal was Butter beans, rice and stewed tomatoes. Cooked separately but layered in the same bowl with rice on the bottom, then the beans and then the tomatoes. If there was a splurge, we would get a biscuit.
I was just coming to say this!! 😂😂 We would either have that combo or the butter beans, cabbage, and a big corn cookie (aka cornbread fried like a pancake) combo. I still throw on a pot when I’m in the mood for some.
@@adailyyanksfan I love southern style beans like pinto etc but I do not like bbq beans etc as they are so sweet. Beans and cornbread make a great meal.
Freshly cooked rice, mix in raw egg letting the hot rice cook the egg, splash of soy sauce, mix a little bit of butter and eat with roasted dry seaweed. Elite.
Did the same. Except swap out the seaweed for a couple of slices of fried bologna
Real fans know Martin's potatoe rolls are the best.
spaghetti noodles, 2 tbsp of stick butter, dust parmesan cheese(plastic bottle), bit salt and pepper. Very easy and cheap meal, also can't forget the Arizona Green Tea.
Man I started off on the struggle bus for a few years, ended up getting a crazy paying job 3-4x as much as before but hated the work, now I’m in a job I love but a little bit of a struggle. These meals bring back so many memories and the drive to do better.
I feel that. Hard to put a price on waking up and actually looking forward to going to work. When I had jobs that I hated, I'd lose sleep at night because of the anxiety of having to work the next day.
When you have a craving for something and then you finally eat it that's one of the best meals ever!
😎👍
Definitely one of my struggle meals . My granny would chop up the hot dogs with the beans and we’d eat it over rice. Beanies and Weenies. This got me smiling 😊 another struggle meal we had bologna sandwiches with bbq chips, ramen with hotdogs in it, spam or corn beef and eggs with rice, one pot jambalaya dirty rice, hood spaghetti or any pasta (we ate that ALOT), canned corned beef with cabbage mixed together with rice (looked like dog food but it was banging), toast, red sauce, cheese and pepperoni for like a pizza dupe, sprinkling brown sugar on bread and toasting it in the oven to make ghetto French toast 🤣 yeah we were a under 40K a year single mom household
My mom would just warm up the beans with the hot dogs in it, but over rice just blew my mind, I’m going to try that right now!
In these times struggle meals are real for some of us....Thanks for giving me a idea for a meal/meals. Love your channel & your positive energy...😊
Steak-umm, American cheese, mayo on toasted white bread. A pack of beef ramen on the side. 🔥
Yo said that!!! Steak ums!!!! Off the meat rack!
My struggle meal staples were tomato sauce in the ramen, PB&J on a tortilla, and frozen waffles (preferably chocolate chip) with cream cheese on it
White rice with fried spam and ketchup that was mine back in puerto rico
Only real ogs ate struggle meals before.
Struggle meals we loved: Eggs & rice w/ butter & chopped hot dogs, Ramen noodles mixed with the frozen vegetables, Syrup & peanut butter sandwich with milk
Spam, mayo, mustard on white toast 🙌
Struggle dishes? We loved grilled spam and/or baloney, chicken spaghetti, grilled cheese, jello, stuffers turkey dinner, pudding, peanut butter on Ritz crackers, French toast made on regular white bread, pbj sandwich, chicken noodle soup, chopped link sausage in ramen noodle soup, tuna helper. More.... if I could remember. lol
Same!
Fried bologna with a fried egg so good with sliced cheese you can add mustard . So good ❤❤
Struggle meal: fried smoke sausage on light bread with mustard lol. And one the struggle sodas here in Texas back in the day Shasta brand sodas and they still hit today lol
Got my vote for struggle meal as well!! Tuna casserole was one of ours. Chicken of the sea
Yep. Tun casserole
Also for me…
“Franks & beans”
“Cottage cheese & tomatos”
Frozen “fish sticks”
“Pasta s white clam sauce”
English muffins or Eggowaffles
Never any soda or chips or pizza or sugar-y cereals. Nothing fun
As a Broke College Kid…
Taco Bell bean burritols
Boxed mac n cheese
Rice “cakes” w cottage cheese
Instant Ramen or ramen cups
Bagels (from the deli). Cheap
Baked potato w marinara sauce
Fro-yo w cereal on top
Brown rice w brown sauce
Wendy’s “salad bar”
Boxed Popcorn.
Saltines w slices cheapo cheese
YES!!
Struggle meal series sounds great. We used to have one when I was a kid that basically consisted of a cheap round steak floured and fried up and then we added a gravy (I added ketchup to the gravy as well) with some green peppers, and served it over brown rice. I know it probably sounds nasty, but damn it was good. Cheap, filling, and decent enough to get you by for the night.
4:21 the perfect struggle meal :Corn beef Hash white rice with 2 fried eggs ‼️
Oodles of noodles with a slice of yellow cheese in it to melt is my struggle meal. My college years had many of these for any meal.
Never had beans on my hot dog but I agree about the spicy brown mustard it’s a must, but I like the chedder and sour cream baked ruffles… I love the Zapps Spicy Crawtators and the Herrs Jalapeño Popper Chips
arctic living in Canada.... cheapest food was bacon strips on wonder bread with cream cheese, peanut butter, strawberry jam and little marshmallow spread... fed all of use for a cheap price as we need to make calories as high as we could for as cheap as we could
Hell ya 😂… had that with fried spam… northern caloricwich
Yes, to doing struggle meals. That's a great idea. Our soda was shasta or Sam's brand from Walmart.
Canned tuna(drain the liquid), rice, mayo, furikake(Japanese seaweed seasoning) in a bowl, mix it up and enjoy
A struggle meal that my pops used to make for me and my cousins was a fried bologna sandwich with some chips
Takes me back to
BBQ for sure
Fried bologna with cheese on toasted bread with the sour cream and onion chips on the inside of the sandwich... Banger
White rice, corn beef with garlic and onion and lil bit of pepper cooked in a pin and eggs lol
Fried bologna with slits around the edges 🤤
Struggle meals, mainly in college included: pita bread with a smear of generic pasta sauce and slice of American cheese, tuna and crackers, totinos party pizzas, top ramen filled with whatever we could find in the pantry, grilled pb&j sandwiches (make just like a grilled cheese) and generic plain spaghettios. Some of these I still have nostalgia for, some of them fill with thoughts of despair. I still love hotdogs though!
I had plenty of struggle meals growing up, but besides cereal with water being my lowest meal I could remember, nothing beat using the damn water hose going through the house for a shower. Times was rough 😭
Splash of evaporated milk my mom used for coffee creamer so it at least LOOKED kind like milk lol. I hear ya.
@ we ALWAYS had evaporated milk on deck, now I know why 💀
Omg I love hotdogs, mustard then beans absolutely delicious. Other struggle meals that I’d make myself growing up were elbow pasta in tomato soup. Elbows pasta with butter and grated cheese. Grilled cheese and tomato soup. A bologna sandwich on Portuguese roll with mayonnaise and cheese doodles on the sandwich And of course ramen noodles.
hot dogs and spaghetti (specifically with sugar in the sauce and shredded cheese) my top 2 struggle meals
honorable mention to egg and rice
We used to make tuna casserole with the mac and cheese. Add some cream soup, peas etc.
Buns, luxury! Hot dogs were always wrapped in a slice of white bread. I think bread was 3 loaves for $1 and you got 20+ slices. We only had buns on 4th July when we had company. In undergrad the best struggle meal was 1lb pasta, 1 or 2 cans cream chicken soup, 1lb frozen broccoli and 1lb cooked chicken. Dinner for the week for about $5.
Agree on the bread. Also used for any sandwich, for hamburgers, garlic bread.
Every once in a while that’s how I prefer em 😂❤
Man I'm here for the struggle meals and I really like spicing it up a bit you know? Loved this video man, straight nostalgia and I'm absolutely grabbing some of them potato hotdogs buns to try.
agreed, immaculate vibes on this video
Homemade French bread pizza like a regular sandwich bread to add tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese and pepperoni to put in the oven like it’s the best struggle meal ever 🔥🔥🔥🔥💯
Pancakes and frozen breakfast sausages for dinner! The family used to do it all the time
1) purple stuff: sugar, water, purple.
2) tomato sandwich: toasted bread, sliced tomato, salt, pepper.
3) egg sandwich: i like mine basically like an omelette cut in quarters on toasted, buttered bread.
4) deviled ham sandwich or with crackers.
5) hamburger helper
6) pancakes with fried hot dog coins in the pan before pouring the batter in.
7) vienna sausages
8) tuna casserole/“helper”
Hello. My struggle meal was tomatoes with Mayo on white bread from the wonder thrift store. My grandmother would make creamed tuna over white bread toast. Thanks and take care.
Mac and cheese with hott dogs were a struggle meal we used to mix green beans corn and hamburger with tomato sauce together that was a struggle meal spam or tuna sandwiches grilled cheese sandwich
fried bologna always hits!!!
“Struggle meal” aint know nothing about crrrsl every night for dinner
Do you like the cap cod kettle chips? Personally those was the chips that got me into kettle cook chips, so i lovem.
Cape cod goated
OMG!! I was waiting for you to say C & C. I grew up in Jersey and we either had C & C in the frig or the ShopRite brand. The 2 liter bottle of C & C was like 69 cents and the big 3 liter bottle of ShopRite soda was like 99 cents. Our other struggle drink was Kool Aid.
Freezing the chips had me dead 😂
Luka and Jimmy both being moved definitely makes things interesting. Also him being mentored by Bron is a huge plus and the money can always be made back. Also Bron getting another ring and tie Kobe with 5 moves towards the opposite. Seeing LA playing well with out AD and going into the break winning 10 of 12 is a positive thing.
Zapp’s! New Orleans represent!
Struggle meal for my family was beans, cheese, and tortillas. Every night. Went insane. Some nights we’d get rice with it.
*10:27** ... It's NOT a shortbread cookie. As per the packaging description: Chocolate top, golden base with salted caramel and shortbread flavor creme*
English muffin (or any bread) with tuna and mayo, salt, pepper, and cheese under the broiler is top tier
We had mini cheese pizza on English muffins. If we had ham or salami we added a bit as well. Otherwise just pasta sauce and shredded cheese.
A struggle meal in my household growing up was spaghetti with butter and garlic salt with tuna sandwiches and our drink would be one of those frozen concentrates where you add it to a pitcher with water and stir lol
eggs & rice is still the go to 😌🤝
When I was a kid my parents weren't the best off, and they had to feed 4 kids. So they had to get creative. The 1 struggle meal I remember from that time is chicken or beef instant ramen with butter and whatever canned veggies we had. Even when times were rough, my parents would do their hardest to give us good food.
canned tuna(in oil if youre fancy) drain majority of the liquid
soy sauce
brown sugar
rice wine
garlic powder
onion powder
Heat in a pan till the tuna dries out a bit
eat with rice and furikake
Yes, please do struggle meals series. I will share some great ones .
Korean dish called “egg rice”. Folks were poor growing up so this was a staple. Rice mixed with sesame oil and soy sauce with scrambled eggs on top and that was it. My fellow Koreans know what I’m talking about and it bangs
A struggle and cheap meal I grew up with was white rice, red beans, and eggs. I also grew up on Little Caesars. My wife's struggle meal was potatoes mixed in tuna fish with white rice.
King Schratz! Been watching for a minute, love your content and the evolution of your watches (Fitbit charge - Fitbit inspire - what you’re wearing these days!!)
For a struggle meal, please try Torino’s party pack (pepperoni) with Louisiana Crystal hot sauce! Gotta let the pizza get a little darker than normal (not burnt!) would always eat this when I was a kid and get nostalgic every time I get it! Thanks for the time you may take reading this!
Hey that’s great tip about the chips in the freezer ! That’s a must try! Also, do you put any other chips in the freezer or is it just the kettle chips?
@@evelynlewis571 no he's mentioned Dorito chips. Great hack I learned from King💯 and it work's
My mom at least once a week would make “tuna casserole” basically a big pot of velveeta mac and cheese. 2 cans of tuna. And either canned corn, or canned sweet peas. Used to eat it up!
I used to make the same when my son was little. Luckily he loved it. I used canned peas. I actually made it last year for my family, I was surprised they somewhat liked it as well.
We need some more of these throwback struggle meals big dawg!
Hot dogs and beans is ALWAYS an acceptable meal! And I am one of those people that loves hot dogs chopped up in the beans. It's the kind of meal you can make in bulk and heat and eat as leftovers in no-time at all. I will say, a favorite childhood meal for me was always something like a "Banquet" brand Salisbury streak. Heat up a big tray, some instant potatoes and some canned peas....and you have a delicious meal. Pro tip: get a fork-ful of steak and potato and dip the potatoes on the fork into the peas so they stick and you get a bite of everything!
One of my favorite struggle meals/comfort foods that I still enjoy to this day is a nice simple grilled cheese. Would love to know how you like yours, what kind of bread and cheeses you use, and what sides you prefer along with it Schratz!
I remember having penne pasta, and not enough money for tomato sauce so we used ketchup, over night in fridge, and ate it cold the next day. Surprisingly simple and comforting.
8:23 yep fried bologna , but I found cotto salami to be just as cheap and more flavor for frying up with a slice of american on some potato bread.
My struggle meal was always taking plain bagels and american cheese and making a grilled cheese with that u cant use everything bagels because the seasoning makes it burnt but u NEED to try it its way better then the average grilled cheese dont be shy with the butter toast the inside a little first and use two slices of white american
Struggle meal for me was what we called “bolognie bowls” fry the bologna and let it curl up and put mashed potatoes (can be instant ones) and add cheese on top. We did breakfast ones too with eggs cheese and bacon on top.
bro has his own way to do everything and i respect it
Yellow rice with Vienna sausages .. or white rice with fried eggs !
When I was a kid, my struggle one was macaroni and Hunts tomato sauce. With a lil salt and pepper. So good.
Upper tier, BUT we know fruity crisp is forever the 🐐
We got a new segment struggle meals 👀 iight Dave we see you!
Glazed Chili Spam n Eggs. Fry the spam up then mix up some Chili crisp oil Brown sugar and soy sauce. get the pan pretty hot and when the spam is done pour the sauce AROUND the spam not on. Flip the spam a couple times and serve on whatever way eggs you like. Your choice of bread or whatevers in the kitchen.
Struggle dessert was creamy peanut butter with Maple syrup. Man I used to have that all the time when I needed something sweet. It’s incredible. Put em in a bowl and mix it up. That’s all you gotta do. Your preference on how much of each. I’m telling you, if you like both of those things you will love them mixed together.
Banana sandwiches, banana sugar mayo mashed together, put it on bread. Heaven keep up ur grind my brother 12k to over 300k blessed to see it
Filipino struggle meal: tortang talong. Just roasted eggplant (we just roasted over stove top or but it under the broiler for a bit) smushed into an egg, pan fried, and served over rice with ketchup. Cheap and easy. My family made it all the time.
Bean sandwich
Bolio (Mexican white bread)
Black refried beans (La costeña brand)
Queso fresco
Pickled jalapeños ( La costeña)
Soooo good from what I remember!!
You wanna talk about a struggle meal out here in Southern California in LA County Jail or State Prison we made what we called spreads consisting of Top Ramen drain the the water add flavor packet and add whatever was available.King You've become my favorite Food content creator just subscribed keep up the good work brother!!!
Spaghetti with tomato juice and butter was my struggle meal for a long time, and I still love it
I can of hormel chili and beans a box of elbow macaroni. Boil the noodles to your liking add the can of chili and beans than top with shredded cheese. There you have chili-Mac 😂
Growing up in my household, eggs, hot dogs, and beans were all you needed to feed the entire family tbh.
My main struggle me in college was and trust me on it. Chicken ramen but add a little mayo and if I was really feeling big back some shredded cheese. Crush some bacon up and put it in the bowl
Back when things were really tight, I used to make quesadillas with kraft singles and bologna. Cut em into triangles and eat em with sour cream and pace picante salsa. Shit used to hit in the darkest of times lol.
Korean version - rice mixed up with soy sauce, sesame oil with crushed up seaweed and maybe some scrambled eggs. Slaps even if u not struggling 😂
Those Busch's baked beans are delicious. Nice simple meal.
I was just craving a fried bologna sandwich the other day and had it yesterday for lunch. I haven't eaten one in YEARS. We on the same wavelength 😂
I'm 61-year-old and I am amazed that struggle meals are still the same today as yesterdays.
When I was a kid and wanted pizza I used sliced white bread and put spaghetti sauce on it and America cheese on top of the sauce then put it in the little oven we had and i called it ghetto pizza 😂 hot dogs on sliced bread was a thing we did too. We grew up poor but we lived in a nice clean apartment and bills always paid. My little brother and I are chefs at restaurants now. I hate going grocery shopping and never really have the time for it with my work schedule so I get hello fresh delivered to my home for me and my mom. This brought back good Memories for sure
i always used to put nutella on toast n sprinkle sum sugar on it or put syrup. got me thru the times where my mom aint buy no snacks
Throwing in my vote for more struggle meal videos.
