I too was not a fan of Canary Wharf or Docklands in general when I commuted to work there! I guess we see things differently if we view it as a place of work rather than a place of interest.

I used to work at South Quay Plaza in the late 80's and early 90's as a trader at Credit Lyonnaise Bank and it was terrific fun. The place was chaos with building sites and trucks everywhere and the DLR's doors used to fall off on a regular basis. There were great pubs there as well and builders cafes along side trendy newly opening Pannini places. I remember watching a helicopter lower the Pyramid onto the top of Canary Wharf Tower. A few years ago I went back with my sons and it was like the walking dead.

I used to work there 9-10 years but now retired. Hated the place. Worked at London Bridge prior and LB is heaven compared to CW.

Hmm interesting! I dreaded London Bridge when I had to commute through it! 😬 ... thankfully I look at it in rose tinted way now I no longer commute.

Understandable ... it has many problems but still nice aspects to it, the same with any other capital city.

@ The cafe was a nice experience and staff were friendly. I'm not into reviewing or critiquing food ... there are an abundance of food vloggers out there who do that sort of thing 🍽️👍
