As a Dolphin fan I find that speech very moving and inspirational and was blown away by the #54 recognition. Mad respect Kevin!
As a Floridian, that made me feel good to hear someone acknowledge Zach Thomas. It really hurts me when I look back at those early years and Miami doesn't have a Super Bowl ring. Jason Taylor, Zach Thomas, Sam Madison, Pat Surtain, Brock Marion, Ricky Williams, Chris Chambers, Randy McMichael and Cris Carter all deserved a ring. I know there's more I'm missing, but those early 2000s Squads had a killer defense!
As a Miami Dolphin fan, I want to thank Kevin for the public recognition he gave to the best MLB Dolphins ever had. Congratulations to get into the HOF, you deserve it. Hopefully #54 will make you company shortly.

One of the absolute finest HOF speeches I've ever heard. Oh the memories of being at the games in East Rutherford NJ and watching Mawae pull from the C position to lead Curtis Martin down the sideline. I am grateful to have had this man to root for for 8 seasons. Kevin Mawae... the greatest Center to ever play the game. Thank you!!!

his brother, kevin mawae (the one crying @5:45) is literally my principal. He's principal at Leesville High School.
Never new who he was until I watched his speech live in Leesville Louisiana right outside Ft. Polk. The day the town stood still indeed. My wife’s family was glued to the tv, and no one spoke a single word through the whole speech. Leesville is truly proud of you and I hope they build a statue for you outside the courthouse!

It was a top-notch speech! It wasn't over the top, like the ones of Cris Carter, Shannon Sharpe, Emmitt Smith, Michael Irvin, Kurt Warner, Marshall Faulk, or Deion Sanders. but it was a great speech nonetheless!

Congrats to the Hall of Fame inductees. But guys, your speeches are TOOOOOOOOOOOO LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG! The NFL players seem to be the longest compared to other sports. You should be proud and happy for your accomplishments, and have your moment. But get over yourself. This took 5 hours, it is not fair for those speaking at end. Everyone wants to leave or turn off the tv by the time the last 1, 2, or even 3 players speak. Apparently the NFL might induct 20 people next year. I support that, in that it may clean up some injustices in who has not gotten in yet. But my goodness, it will take a week to get through the speeches, if they allow all of them to be this long. Ok, gonna wrap this up as this may be getting too long. 😴 lol.
