We hung out together for the entire day, literally 12 hours, and I knew he was the one for me at the end of that day, when I realised I wasn't socially drained from spending time with him. I'm an introvert and I need to recover from social time with other people. But not him, he recharged my batteries just be being there. We've been married 10 years :)
stacey that’s lovely! I’m an introvert too and I find being with people draining. It must be lovely to not be drained by someone.

We talked at the park for 10 hours until we got kicked out at 9pm. I got her that frozen yogurt about 3 years later after I put a ring on it. Together six years, married 3. So glad.
Similar situation here. Introvert. We became best friends in high school and I could always be around him and not get tired of him. Even when I was mad at him. We're planning to get married early next year. 10 years of friendship & I cant wait to grow old with him

I met my wife in high school and we never dated but she was my first female friend and I remember my mom saying to me that I would end up marrying that girl one day. Sure enough 15 years later she became my bride. And my mom never once said I told you so.
Amazing mom! 😊
Sounds like it was arranged marriage :P
She probably forgot
My mom said the same thing about me and my idiot neighbour. I hope she's wrong.
I hope my mom is wrong. She keeps telling me I’ll marry my first and only boyfriend because even though we broke up before we graduated from high school, he keeps popping up in my life once in a while. We’re 30, but he’s been in and out of relationships and I’ve been single (no comment) this whole time.
I really appreciate the variety of couples. They had interracial couples, gay couples, lesbian couples, couples from other countries. It really shows, to me, how love has no boundaries.

Did you do anything about it? Sorry, I'm curious 😅
@@g.l.4214 I broke up with them and we don't speak any more. I think people should understand that you can still love someone with all your heart and only end up being with them for a short while and that can still have a really significant impact on you and be worthwhile. I feel like nine times out of ten we turn bitter in relationships because we don't cut them off when we should. Most relationships aren't meant to last forever, and if I knew that before and ended it I probably would've looked back on the whole thing more fondly. In fact, I think the one-time connections we make with other people in a romantic way are worthwhile because they're not forever, when we draw them out longer than they're supposed to last for is when we suffer. I do believe eventually we'll find the right person, but before you find that person I think it's beneficial to just take an easygoing approach to intimacy and stuff like that. But ultimately a comment like this isn't going to get you to adopt this kind of view, you have to experience it yourself and come to that conclusion yourself. Sorry if this bored you haha, good luck with your life wherever you are
@@pleasedt0welcome oh that's sad but... good for you
Oliver hi. I did the same thing. I was with someone for 3 years and broke it off 6 months ago when I realized I didn’t want to be married to this person. They were great for the time but my happiness meant more to me. We remained in contact until last week when I realized I didn’t want to be tethered anymore. It’s hard but it set me free to achieve my dreams and opened up so many opportunities to me. Right now, I just want to focus on me. One day I’ll get back out there but right now I just want to enjoy life.

My grandpa was a 21 year old runaway, a free spirit, he became an orphan from a really young age so he had no parents that could take care of him. He traveled a lot and had no boundaries but one time back in the late 60's he was visiting a small town, when he saw (according to him) 'the prettiest girl he had ever seen in his life', he thought "I'm going to marry her". That was my grandma, only 16 years old at the time. They knew eachother for a week and then they decided to get married. 52 years later they are still together 😤
All my grandparents had arranged marriages and they have the cutest stories. But my Filipino grandparents got married at 14 and 17, and stayed together until death in the late 70s.

I appreciate that these are from long distance relationship couples. I’m in that situation right now and it gives me hope (thank you too all that have/will comment!❤️ I appreciate the encouragement so much😘)
Hey don't let anything get you down. I am in a long distance relationship for the second time (first time when we were both at university and now I am specialising to be a consultant) and we are ok. The hardest thing is physically being apart but my fiancè told me this once, "I call you a lot because I don't want you to be alone". He is quite sweet.
I did long distance for a year before moving in with my lovely bf. That year was so hard and seemed to go on forever. Now I feel as if I've blinked and we've lived together longer than we spent missing each other. Being apart was incredibly difficult, but now I get to roll over every morning, look at him, and remember how lucky I am to be next to him and how we'll never have to be apart again. I'm almost glad for the time we had apart because it reminds me how precious this time is.
I'm in the same situation

Anyone else notice that the guys seem to fall faster than the women?
Woman: “about a year and a half after we started dating.”
Man: “from the moment I saw her.”
Hanna Rankin I guess it implies that a higher proportion of men have a definition of love that is linked more closely to physical appearance than women do. Hence more men fall in love immediately, based on looks, then perhaps, over time, their love develops into something deeper, following that initial thrill of chasing and catching/winning the beautiful woman.
Eve Tats if men were groomed better , then we’d probably have the same reaction. Lol
Probably cos they don't remember 😂
I remember reading something where it says guys statistically “fall in love faster” because they have less to lose. Like scientifically women are programmed to look for a lot of deciding factors, along side society wise as well. Women have a lot more risk. Guys have a little less
Eve Tats that's only some guys :/

Asians and Africans generally don't get that many wrinkles from aging. White people tend to get the most wrinkles and Middle Eastern people are somewhere in the middle of that spectrum.
Dave Cullins oh really... well, they are living proof to that theory then! Good for them! 🍀

could you do a version of this for like arranged marriages, i think that would be more interesting asking when exactly they fell in love after their marriage and stuff
I second this. Arrange marriages aren't usually "love at first sight", so I want to learn how their love blossomed or when they found out they just did.
And it could also be helpful, whatever they'll say, as advice for those who are struggling with the definition of "love". Because it seems not all "click" easily...

I officially met my husband at a dance, after noticing him walk by me every day for a few weeks, (turns out he walked by every day just to see me.)
He asked me to dance, and I knew I was going to marry him the moment he took my hand to lead me to the dance floor.
I knew I loved him just two weeks later. We've been married for 14 years.
“I don’t have the time or energy to date anyone else” good enough reason :’D
After multiple break ups, I decided I will not pursue relationships when I moved to Germany. I met this person, we talked a lot and me, so afraid of starting and eventually ending things, took my time. He patiently waited, and I still remember the September we spent a week camping together in high school. We sat in front of the bonfire until 2-3am, talking until the last bit of warmth burned out. Whenever I thought I told him everything I knew about myself he just wanted to know more. He empathized with me on the smallest stuff, cried for me and said he wants to be there for me from now on in whatever way possible. We didn’t have to be in a relationship or marry, he just wanted to grow as a person with me. He wanted to be there for me. That’s when I knew: this is the person. All this time I was searching when I didn’t have to at all.
That’s so beautiful mate, thanks for sharing.
beautiful❤️
I knew my husband was the one I wanted to marry after dating 6 months. He never annoyed me, always was considerate. He is my opposite and can cut through any emotional responses. Not to mention, he makes me laugh. We have been together 11 years, married for 8.
Beautiful, congratulations
One evening I wanted to add my good friend Tomas to Facebook, and added up accidentally adding the wrong person. In the morning it said "Tomas from Canada has accepted your friend request". And I thought to myself...Canada? That's about 7000 kms too far! But then I saw him, and thought " i know you". Which was really irrational for me, since I have a very sober personality/mentality. I messaged him, and found out his personality was even more incredible. We ended up sending each other long emails, which turned into video calls till 9 am, and even handwritten letters. After a few months he flew over to see me, and it was like coming home. He threw away his return ticket, and stayed with me for 2 months. I visited him for 2 months and only went back to my Country to empty my apartment, and move with just two suitcases filled with clothes and small items. That year we got married and had our first child. 7 years later, and we are more in love than ever. I know it is rare, and I would never tell someone to just meet up with strangers. But when you know, you just know.
cyano wow that’s incredible!

This is so beautiful, I have chills!
Oh my gosh!😭❤️ what a beautiful story!!
He broke up with me, and broke my heart (even though I was the perpetrator of the event that led to the break up). And a couple of months later he texted me and said he wanted to talk, me being scared and feeling bad (and sick) , said I'd meet him outside, and after some time waiting, I said I'd only give him a couple more minutes before I walked back home.
And he ran the rest of the way to make it (almost 6 km)
The fact that he ran, just for the opportunity to talk to me, when I had been the bad guy. That is the moment I realized how much he meant to me, and I realized I was going to marry this man. And we are this summer (if corona pisses off)

I wish they could tell me how to get through the times where you go through doubts and hard times. It's easy to talk about when you first fell in love with someone. They've all felt pain at some point, how'd they know to get through it vs giving up?
Ask yourself 2 things:
1. If you were never going to see that person again, how would you feel? 2. Picture yourself at 55/60 years and slowing down, when you look beside you do you see that person sitting there? Falling in love is the easy part and building from that love, is worth it. Two of the most precious things that helps a relationship survive are respect and communication.
When you feel like you cannot truly be the person you are meant to be as long as you are with them, or that you have to compromise who you are meant to become in order to settle for a future that seems still good, but not as true to yourself.
Or when your life would be better (consistently) if you were single, than if you were together.
That is when you leave.
When you think of who you know you've always been and who you are meant to be, and this person makes you feel like you honor your childhood self, and lights a fire in your soul that will give you fuel to being who you've always known you could be.
Or when your life simply cannot unfold in the most delicious way you can possibly imagine unless they are there to walk along side you in it.
That is when you fight with everything you have to hold on to them.
And if it makes them happier to leave, but it breaks your heart.
You let them go.
Because truly loving someone, means loving them on their entire journey. Not only in their journey with you.
My fiance and I have been together 12 years. In that time, especially during the first few years, our relationship was in terrible shape. Our arguments got so bad, that the police were called on us and he had to spend the night in jail. It was extremely rough, but it was a massive wake up call. I started to change after that. I started to do some soul searching and got to know myself better. When I didn't respond to his outbursts with anger anymore, he was forced to change, as well. I had to make a decision, though, about whether or not I could see the relationship working out. With how it was going, the outcome didn't seem so good if we stayed. However, I was also very much aware of his traumatic childhood, which I knew played a part in his actions and words. He never fully let go of that trauma, so it consumed him and made him angry, bitter, frustrated, and resentful towards life and the parents who caused it all.
You can bet we had a long discussion about this. I told him that I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, because I loved him very much and wanted to see him heal. But that I also wasn't gonna take anymore verbal abuse. So I told him that he needed to seek help for his anger issues and that we needed to work on communication. The fact that he even bothered taking an anger management class showed that he didn't want to lose our relationship.
Fast forward to now, we've made leaps and bounds in his healing, but still have a ways to go. He's far more relaxed and our communication is so much better. There's so much more healing that we both need, but I want to take that journey together. We're very much in love and want to do what it takes to make our relationship last.
So, while it's all individualistic, your instincts know when it's best to leave someone or stay. Your gut is never wrong. You have to decide what feels right. Weigh the pros and cons if you must, but again, go with your gut. And always do what's right for you.
When you know life would NOT be better if they are out of the picture. When you want them around when things are bad. When you feel hurt if things are not right between you. Can't imagine life without him/her. This is assuming you are in a healthy not abusive relationship
And you are willing to sacrifice comforts or riches for that person so long you are content together
Samantha Rovai Well what you should think about is whether the good times the tough times. If objectively, you had to close your eyes and say how do you feel about being with this person? If the overall sentiment is yes, then the tough times are worth it. Otherwise maybe some introspection is needed?
The other thing would also be to think about what is causing the hard times - if it’s caused by a situation like long distance , then the situation would change or is the difficult due to someone’s personality trait ? In the second case, both have to work to reach some sort of middle ground - be more accepting and conscious of how their behaviour impacts the other. Sometimes the fact that someone is making the efforts to be with you is enough.
Of course, all this is assuming that the relationship is healthy and you have strong feelings towards each other.

The couple married for 57 years was my favorite. The husband saying that he fell for her four months ago, and the wife thinking he was some aged war veteran when he was actually close to her age... I cackled.
My husband and I knew pretty much right away. I'm fairly shy meeting people but when I met him I looked into his eyes and felt like I knew him. 6 days later he told me that he loved me and I said I loved him too. Been married 12 yrs.
Millie Cat I don’t know why but this made me tear up a bit
Yeep, I’ll die alone
The Married 18 years couple look so good!!they both could definitely pass as models :0
I think their . age is not that much they just looked old ... That's why their hair is still pretty good ..

"She's mean, but in a good way" the word you are missing here is "tsundere" lol
what minute
That's what my husband would describe me lol
Married 57 years... *I fell in love with her 4 months ago*
Lol
I was kinda surprised at the first woman who said "about a year and a half in" like what even motivates you to stay with a person for a year and a half if you don't love them?
Some ease of burden was likely provided.
I think some of these people defined love differently than others. Like some of them were clearly saying they were in love like "they felt something" and some of them meant it as "I knew I would spend the rest of my life with them". Maybe for that year and a half she just thought this was a nice relationship and she had feelings for the other person but didn't know it would last that long.
Has her husband said 2 months I was dying
some people just take longer to feel their emotions....everyone's different
Grace Power they were feeling it along the way, but some kind of push is needed for them to define it as love
married for 57 years: “about four months ago”
My boyfriend and I have been essentially chasing each other across the globe for the last two years. We lived in the same place in the us for a year, then I moved to Peru, he moved back to Germany, then he came to visit me here in Peru for one month, and this summer I'm meeting him in Berlin and we are going to travel through Europe together and also later on to Canada. Then I will move back to the states for 6 months and if all goes well we will be living together in Prague, Czech Republic in January 2020!
I love him more than anything and I'm so excited to tackle these next couple months of long distance! Working hard to finance our future goals together is such an motivating thing.
Imsophiehey sounds exciting! Hope it all goes well for you ❤️
Good luck to you and your partner!
I am rooting for you guys.

My husband 4 weeks after our first date had a question to ask which he started by saying to me don't laugh .... Then proceeded to propose. Me being me of course burst out laughing and never replied.
Next day he was outside waiting for me from 2pm - 4.30.
I was married to him 3 weeks after my 16th birthday he was 19
That was 52 years ago. He still makes me laugh out loud and curls my toes on a regular basis.
I'd marry him again in a heartbeat
I love how they all look at each other. Theres that sort of spark in their eyes
About 30 days after meeting my wife , the partridge family song, “ I think I love you “ randomly popped in my head. Lol then I whispered “ olive juice” to her before i was brave enough to say i love you. Lol got engaged 30 days later, married 6 months after..... 6 1/2 years and counting. AND all of this started while we both were deployed 🤗😉

My grandparents have been married for 54 years now,, they got together when my grandma was 14 and my grandpa was 15. They got married straight out of high school and they still never fail to make each other laugh or care for one another. they’ve shown me so much about love and how it should be. They are role models to me and I love the love they share 🥺❤️

We were best friends for about 2 years in high school, then I liked him without telling him for another year. We went to junior prom together “as friends” and ended up kissing for the first time. We lived 5 hours apart so we decided to take a few weeks to decide whether or not we wanted to pursue a relationship, and we’d talk about it when we got together again in a few weeks at a Rangers game we were planning on going to. We talked nonstop the whole two weeks and I missed him so much, and when we got together at the game two weeks later we were so happy to be together, we had no doubt in our minds that we wanted to seriously date. I have a picture from that day of us hugging and him kissing me on the forehead and me grinning like an idiot and honestly I think I knew that day that I was in love with him. We’ve been together for 8 1/2 years, married for 4, and I’m pregnant with our first child ❤️
awwwwwww

V. Bright I need a man like him he’s so weird but in the cutest possible way like he could wreck me if he wanted to

"About 4 months ago I think..." LOVE IT.
These people are all so cute. I want to find love like this. Hell, I'd settle for someone who is honest, loyal, respectful, and kind.
That..my friend, is not settling....that's like hitting the jackpot...as soon as you find that never let that person go and love them as much as they love you 😊
This was the most heart-warming thing I've ever seen.
Try watching the movie Our Souls at Night.
Aw this made me teary eyed. I've been married for 2 years, together for almost 7. We have a son and another on the way. I can't wait to grow old with my husband. He's amazing. ❤️
