    Hey, thanks for shooting that long drive! Being Californians, we were impressed especially where the road workers directed single-lane traffic around roadwork areas, and the car traffic was so light that there were NO CARS WAITING to go the other way! Man, that’s wide open space out there! I hope to visit soon.

    That was such an enjoyable video. I loved all of the small towns. I was most drawn to the eastern side of the lake. Also, that stretch around the 29-30 mark just before Harrison looks like a great area to build a home. Maybe I just crave isolated areas due to living in Chicago my whole life. Thank you for sharing this.

    Good look at the drive. A couple of (hopefully constructive) comments: I know you have to speed it up to make the drive in a reasonable time, but it would be nice to revert to normal through the couple of larger towns. I ran it at .25, and still didn't get to see much of St Maries. And, I'm with most others about the music.

    This is awesome! Visited here last summer (2019) and fell in love with this town. Northern Idaho is so close to Montana in terms of landscape but it’s more populated and more diverse which is my kinda place. Been trying to find a way to move here but just can’t find a good job and reasonably priced place to rent, what a beautiful area though!!!

    The scenery was great and nice to see, but I was exhausted when it was over, it seemed like I was riding in a Grand prix race care-not that was not enjoyable, I would have prefer ed a shorter video covering just the most scenic parts, leave out the freeway looking parts, have to give a thumbs down-sorry. IMHO

    Nicely done. When I first started watching I thought that you should've gone the other way, as that is my favorite part of the lake. But, in retrospect getting the hum drum out of the way in the beginning was definitely the way to go. The descent after you pass Gozzer is amazing, so is the incline. That's why I originally that the tour should have been done the other way. Apples and Oranges. Everyone who watched this video just needs to go to this enchanting destination and take the mesmerizing cruise around the lake. Cda is will always be HOME for me. No better place on earth. I have to get back there. I want to die there. Thank you for the excellent drive. Reminiscing.

    Thank you for this video; been living in little ol' Slokane (misspelled deliberately) for nearly 5 decades and had no idea what an absolute gem CDA actually is!
    On that note, is there a link or two you're aware of that lists CDA apt's (other than Craigslist)?

    How are the land use codes around there? Could a guy build a "garagedominium" without jumping through a bunch of hoops?

    • @LiveBetterinNorthIdaho
      @LiveBetterinNorthIdaho  4 года назад +1

      Land use codes are favorable to the property owner. However, most find lack of inventory and price are the issue. Raw land, property improvements (grading, electric, septic and water,) and building the "home" are not financeable through a bank. Banks do not fund alternative builds...it all takes cash. Rural land is not subdivideable below 5 acres, so most all undeveloped lots in rural areas are 5+ acres and run 50-100K without utilities. By the time one brings utilities in, that cost doubles. Just the land, when all is said and done, for 5 acres is 100-200K all with cash. Owner financing for raw land is rare and very costly with large downs (25-50% down) and 3 to 5 year payoffs. Then to build the structure...more cash! When one plays it out...land with utilities (min 150K cash) and structure to live in (min 100K cash) the only way it works is to have a min of 250K cash. Thanks for the question
