That's great advice Lauren, thank you for taking the time to make this! Your tutorials are so helpful! As a middle aged beginner I've found a Dunlop 0.38mm has really helped my strumming. It's a lot more fluid and I don't keep catching on the strings.

I'm a beginner acoustic player. Been playing about 2.5 months now.
I find I always accidentally strum harder than intended so i use the standard Dunlop nylon .46 picks because they give a softer sound even if I accidentally strum too hard..
Love your videos by the way!

Great video as always! I just ordered the acoustic pack. I have pics but they’re the hard, plastic .71 and I’m struggling a bit with them. I know I’d get used to anything but I’d rather try options.
Now I have to go adjust my guitar strap, too, after watching the video on guitar straps. 😊

Great channel! I got back into guitar after giving up too early. Following routines like these make you progress much easier.
Grey USA nylon dunlop ones .88 are quite good, much easier than thicker ones. Helped me breakthrough with struggling to upstrum.

I use Dunlop. I love the feel of them. I definitely will be buying pick packs for both electric and acoustic. Through the years l have found on the ground picks that l added to my collection. One was molded by the guitarist for his thumb. I love that pick.

I do the yellow Dunlop picks, .73mm. I like the turtle logo. That's for electric guitar. For acoustic, I do fender 351 thin, it's brown and I only have 2 or 3 left. I'll get some thin Dunlops on my next music store run.

I'm probably being a bit of a heretic here, but as an over-60 beginner who does a lot of strumming, what I've found works best for me is a pretty flexible pick where I've cut out some very gritty sandpaper and superglued it to the upper part of both sides of the pick. It's very hard to drop this pick as the top of the pick is very gritty and thick, while the lower part that hits the strings is pretty flexible.

Thicker pick will make you soften your wrist from the start, so I suggest not to use thin picks (less than 0.7mm) ... you should work on your wrist from the start or else you will need to get to it later.

Most play with their fingers, but for nylon strings you could use a leather pick like they do for ukulele. A little easier on the nylon.
