Plan B - Virtual Reality [1993] - (video de skate clássico) com: Colin McKay, Mike Carroll, Rick Howard, Tony Ferguson, Pat Duffy, Rodney Mullen, e Danny Way.
I grew up on this video. Watched plan b every single day. After id go out skateboarding with all those tune in my head. Dreamin of nice skatepot I havent in my hometown. Everytime I watch this it a dose of nostalgia right in my blood
I'm from Vancouver and skated with Colin a bunch of times back in these days yet oddly enough the most nostalgic thing for me was the intro when he's at an arcade. Those aren't a thing anymore. They used to be everywhere.
Was driving me and Collin to the plan b vert ramp ( no one else wanted to skate ) and had the chance to tell him I named my son after him ... Special moment in my life !!
One of the best parts ever for me. Not simple by todays standards, half of those flip tricks were switch in the vert section. Plus, he has the best style
Loved that place. Me and Sluggo once held a bar with our hands while Colin tried to fakie 5-0 it. We'd push it out to give him a boost. Came close but never did it. That was a few years before Bob did his fakie 5-0 flip on the elevated bar. I wondered if it was Colin's idea to set that up.
I pre-session hyped this video just now & all the time. Curb Dancing is how i skate now @ 49. And no-way am i doing back-blunts. Frontside vs Bside blunts are night +day. Like easy & hard mode for sure. DANNY & Collin=DC
Oh yeah! I hadn't seen this in ages and thought there was more street. That DRC section had tricks at my home spot where Colin skated quite often. How could I forget that?
Hinson,,Bro, it was ALWAYS illegal. Atleast the good spots like plaza low benches etc. The cops would take our boards and charge us $100 to get em back. So from that point on = WE ALWAYS RAN. Being allowed to skate isn't the same. The kids in my town right now refuse to leave the lame skate park. Even though me & friends made an awesome spot on a Manny curb,, red curb & finbox like bump curb WITH the handicapp bump thats slow concave for fast lipslides.(if ur goofy)
it was great until Switch. Me & my friends were Half Cab not switch.. The onlything switch i could do was from doing fakie stuff.. sucks cause switch ruined alot of skaters who refused it. Like The Gav and Hensley.
FYI- THE SONG"Serenade" was a very old song even in 1993. It's from the 1970's for sure.. ~The downside of using old music in video parts is most think the video part is from that era lol... ~Collin & Danny= FU for selling us out with the True video. Look what PatDuffy did for his fans.. I don't care if Danny & Collin aint on that competing level anymore. I just like the swag both have with parking curbs...
Popsicle was the owrst thing to happen to skating since Switch. That football sjape right b4 popsicle IMO was the best. You had almost popsicle shaped nose but you can still tell the nose from the tail.. I skate that shape today but usually every other deck since they expensive or hard to find. Usually i get the bLind Gonz/Jason Lee shaped decks.
The plan b videos were the pioneering of skateboarding today, all the tricks that skaters do today, have been done with in that video, and most of the pros on that team at the time, are famous now ( danny way, colin mckay, rodney mullen) any skater who hasn't seen these videos is a poser staright up!!!
man... these were the days! crazy to imagine it was 20 years ago we were living this! and not JUST important for skating, but the last homage to anything real pre-N*sync etc. BS!
Autentyk my Dude There's a Transworld or Thrasher magazine that older now. maybe 2014 or some sh that breaks down a whole page of tricks not documented as being done since. And it's just to throw a few out there are DannyWay,CollinMcKay are there with alot of vert stuff. im mean like 1/3 of the page. ~DAN PATERKA from H-street has alot of weird bigSpin and fakie flips that did onto curbs and board slides. And people cant even do em let alone into slides... RUclips Dan Paterka. Dude left skating like a boss too.. ~TheGonz,,HenrySanchez,RickHoward,Koston have curb stuffs and grinds. I need that issue!!
@kangiwiyaka I just saw the whole QUESTIONABLE video... and i saw how SKATEBOARDING started to evolve as i got to Rick Howards part! FROM 4 stairs to 5 stairs
Skating was better under H-street. ESP the last two H-street videos. They were more raw but just as advanced. Mike Carrol & Koston brought too much tech to it. We missed the fast skating instead of switch flip in flip out crap. I don't think i ever flipped out ever after flipping in. for me it's one of the other & barely ;D Damn we getting old!!
@kangiwiyaka If an individual lived for 1,000 years, would he say what you're saying every 7-10 years? Or maybe he would just be beyond worrying about that stuff.
not hardly, I knew a guy from brazil who was good on vert and could mctwist but could barely kickflip on flar or get anything on a ledge, but where he was from the only concrete was the vert ramp

Tune is fuggin sooooo sick!!
When skate videos still ran the best music cuz fuck a copyright. Virtual Reality forever.

Oh yeah! I hadn't seen this in ages and thought there was more street. That DRC section had tricks at my home spot where Colin skated quite often. How could I forget that?
So progressive, the switch, the vert
From someone who skated from 1988 Virtual reality and plan b changed skateboarding forever. We’d watch this and go skate before it was illegal. Lol.

it was great until Switch.
Me & my friends were Half Cab not switch..
The onlything switch i could do was from doing fakie stuff..
