did you make sure to save it to the same account? also dont make the hud on the layouts that fortnite recommend. Press create new account and make it on there, save it to the same account. lmk if it helped

This happened to me and I've reached out to epic games and asked them for a fix The just reset the settings from their end on my account and everything started working normal Try it once
Ur actually goated, but cuz u use 5 fingers, maybe try playing on a tablet. I tried playing on both a phone and tablet and I can say tablet is much more comfortable
