just a suggestion. you could set the depth with a router and route out a long slot and then use a magnet strip. would allow knives to be placed anywhere and also no fear of going through other side.
Super cool! I didn't know knives would stick through a layer of wood. Makes it look very sophisticated! I prefer this version to the industrial looking magnet runner. Great job!
I use rare earth magnets to hang printed recipes on my cupboard doors. Pretty handy. Strong enough magnets will work through an impressive amount of wood.
Wow. This is a BRILLIANT idea!! Nice work! Awesome epoxy colour! Like I said, I never liked it much before I saw your work. But you have real vision with it. Thanks for sharing!
Wouldn't it be better if you used a long strip of magnets instead of circular ones with spaces in between? Seems like it would be more user friendly and space-saving.
Don't know if anyone else has said it yet, but a rubberized finish would be helpful in a case like this to increase friction with the blades. A urethane might do the trick.
love the blue! skip the gold u used before! its not different enough to look good! gold/yellow looks like UV damaged clear!! but thats just my opinion*....
Okay I actually love this idea. My issue with magnetic knife holders is that you can damage the edge on your knives if you take them off/put them back on wrong. The wood would seriously lessen the chance of that happening
I love watching these little videos. I am an artist and paint in oils and love watching other artists and their talents with their projects coming to life. Such beautiful and fun work.
This is a significant improvement over the magnetized knife bars folks who use them tend to employ. Since the wood is soft comparable to the blade, the holder won't harm the knives. Really cool piece!
You are very talented -- everything I've seen you make has been terrific! I hope you are successful in making a living at your art (which I'm sure you are).

Why do you always use blue? Is it a preference or just the only color it comes in. Just wondering.
I want to see the keyhole hanger process too
Anything other than insta? Email or website. 😢 i want to order but camt stand instagram and dont want to make an account
Making an account means im signing an agreement and im not interested in that. Just your woodwork ❤
You do NICE work dude!!

Good idea. Those strips are pretty weak, but.
@@nuntana2 ..but they're actually strong and made specifically for holding knives, so.
@@jonathonfrederick2062 Rare earth magnets, no contest. Also, a slot that deep would make the piece less stable compared to holes.
@@jonathonfrederick2062 they are too weak. Won’t work Tru wood. Need neodymium
@@lauran3244 that's simply not true.

Thank you!
You didnt know magnetism can have an effect through 1mm of wood?
@@TheTastefulThickness I don’t think he watched that part

very cool ... I could see myself picking this up for the kitchen .... also maybe a smaller one for keys? matching magnetic key chain ?
What a great idea!
You just lit up my life what great idea
Speaking with the bloke from the mill “hey you know that piece I got last week. Turned it into $2000”
I automatically hate that knife holder. The knife no only slid but also fell a little before the magnet caught it.
What u mean? U had same kind?
@@ia6980 No. It shows it in the video. It wasnt done properly.
Call me old fashioned but magnetic knife holders just seem like a bad idea in general
@@mischafriegang5333 I cant say you are wrong. I dont use them. I see no real reason to own one myself even though I do have 1 somewhere.
That's beautiful 😮
Wow. This is a BRILLIANT idea!! Nice work! Awesome epoxy colour! Like I said, I never liked it much before I saw your work. But you have real vision with it. Thanks for sharing!
I used a magnet strip instead because I hated that it was only magnetic in some spots. I can throw knives at mine, haha
Agree 100%
Wouldn't it be better if you used a long strip of magnets instead of circular ones with spaces in between? Seems like it would be more user friendly and space-saving.
Great idea! I just wish the epoxy to be a similar color and tone to the wood itself and very clear to appreciate the grain even more 👍🏼

That is one hell of an awesome build❤
love the blue!

but thats just my opinion*....
Nice idea for knife holder. Using a drill press would make your hole depth more accurate.
You do such a beautiful job! A charcuterie board using your technique would be awesome!

Beautiful work Great job
Magnetic knife holders are all I use, but I’ve never seen a wooden one. I want one.
Absolutely beautiful!
Love it !
What was the lb rating on the magnets?
Nice piece of wood Sir.
Beautiful! Custom woodworking such an underrated trade! Also, bordering on extinction, with the use of cnc machinery nowadays. Much respect!
Really pretty I love the blue great idea❤❤
Stunning
This is the first thing I’m buying when I get monetized!
You are an amazing artist. Stunning.
BEAUTIFUL! Nice job😊
Nice, but the epoxy feature looks out of place.
Yeah, I could do without the blue as well.

That's dope... creative, useful, and a great aesthetic
I love that! Hopefully you do more
Love this! Super cool idea
Awesome to see a true artisan craftsman at work. Gotta love it. Thanks for sharing
Beautiful work. I think the void would look amazing with the epoxy simulating natural amber.
Wow. Another amazing piece.

This is super cool!
That piece is awesome. I think it's rich!😍
I want one!!!!! I have a small magnetic knife holder and I love it but this would be life to have!
That is very Awesome!! I really love this piece!
Looked great. You could have loaded more magnets offset with the others for a complete strip.
This has been my go to gift for awhile now. Love it try using a magnetic tool strip in layer with dados, rather than individual magnets
so beautiful 😍 well done 👏
This Is AWESOME!!!! Will request one for my self
Absolutely love this idea!
Beautiful. Maybe crowd the magnets next time. We have a magnetic board and the knifes don't rotate when we put them on. More secure feeling.
