The Bighorns have been my favorite place since I first traveled there back in 1994. We were just out in the Cloud Peak area in mid August 2024. I try to make it out to Wyoming at least once a year and have since 1994. Its a long way from home here in Kentucky but its well worth the time, effort and expense to me. I never call it a vacation because its more like a recharge for my body and soul. If there is such a thing as reincarnation then I have lived in Wyoming before this life. It feels like home to me and I really cant explain it.

I feel the same way. I Love the Hills of Ky but those mountains keep me coming bk. Luckily I hav family that has settled down n Montana but it’s the beauty of the mountains that keep me going back. Mother Nature does amazing things if we let her✌️🤓

The best things about wyoming and montana is the wide open spaces, being able to look out and see nature to the horizon. It does recharge a soul.

@@loristravels And the bonus for those from my area is the lack of humidity. Its easier to breathe out West but you must remember to hydrate. Allergy symptoms go away. The lower population is another reason I am drawn to the wide open places. If I keep talking about it I am going to get a little depressed so .........I digress.

Still a beautiful drive even with the burnt areas. When mother nature says time for a refresh, only she knows where and how much

The fire didn't burn as much around the switchbacks as I thought it did, the back country got the worst of it I think. Hopefully it comes bad with more areas for wildlife to flourish, but in this dry arid country the pine trees will take decades to return.

It wasn't as bad as I had pictured in my head but there is some spots that are bad. Mount Maurice still hasn't recovered from the fire a couple of years ago. It is still grey. It definitely sterilized the soil
