Added a cascade link for 8mm of travel and more progressive. Also changed to a coil and over strokes for about 7mm more travel. Now that's 165 travel. Already changed the fork to 160 and going to change to 170! And changed to 12s eagle! Lastly changed cranks to 160 to cut down on pedal strikes.
I built up a 2021 Levo SL from the now available framset. Although I’m a big fan of the 27.5/29“ combo, I went for 29 only, high flip chip, last generation dual postion 160mm lyrik with newer 2.1 charger cartridge for better climbing. With full XTR, DT XMC1200 wheels, KS carbon dropper post, 2.4 Rekon/2.35 Forecaster, Syncros Carbon cockpit I ended up at 16.295kg (Large) including the pedal. With this bike I was already able to clear some technical up- and downhill sections I was not able before (neither power Ebike nor Enduro). I’m just thrilled by the versatility !!
I recommend checking your flip chip position on a newly bought Levo or Stumpjumper. From my experience, there is no default position. Just as many people say their Levos got delivered in High position as they are saying it came in Low. Maybe the default setting is bound to frame size ? Mine came in High.
I have a 2021 Levo and got the fork replaced to 170mm, handle bar to 50rise, Now next stop is replacing both wheelset into 27.5, replacing crank to hope tech 155mm plus Sram AXS drivetrain. Everything is in order and hopefully will get before and of this year. I'll post video and review on this set up. My buddy did mullet setup on his 2020 levo and bike feel awesome.
Nice video! I’m going to try the mullet setup on my Levo. I like the 29er setup for cross country, but find it a bit of a dead weight on the twisty trails, esp compared to my 27.5” Nomad.
I've gone 160 grip2, X2 155 rear, Eddie current 2.6, feels great, I think lowering the BB height is a bad move, levo suffers with pedal strikes, my broken collarbone confims this, I have exact same bike btw, 2020 levo expert & it's brilliant
Yup - I plan to go mullet man on rear but get shorter cranks - I smash left and right on my local trails - broke my collarbone 2005 and it still suffers on the hits

Switched to 27.5 35 inner width wheels front and rear, running 2.6 upfront and 2.5 rear Maxxis tires, ( flip chip on high) upgraded to xt 4 piston brakes, 160 Lyrik, PNW dropper, Ergon grips, Nukeproof 35 stem, FOX DPS Elite shock, and Spank Vibracore 60 rise handlebars, OneUp pedals and I love it!! if your goal is downhill performance, imo the best value for money would be to swap the silly oem trail casing tires for enduro or downhill casing tires + tire inserts, lower the pressures, brake less & learn how to handle the higher speed. there's a reason that no UCI downhill race has ever been won (or even ridden?) on plus tires!
2020 Levo comp: I've changed the airshaft in my Lyriks to 170mm (can also be done with 36's) it's a cheap upgrade, changed the shock to a 210 x 55 Cane Creek IL coil (must only be run in the high position) to give me 157mm of rear wheel travel. 29 x 2.5 Assegai's front and rear, gives me a head angle of 64 degrees and a bb height of 350 mm. The shock set at 30% sag means the bike rides deep in its travel compared to an air shock and provides tons of grip. I'm a mechanic and have set up a few customers bikes like this and they all love it too.
Still running the stock tires from specialized on my kenevo, but i loved the maxxis on my non ebike, my next combo it will be assegai on the front and dhf rear, or give a try to Schwalbe tyres, or the pirelli

I bought the basic version of the Levo with Rockshox Sektor 150mm forks with only 32 mm diameter stanchions, so I have just replaced them with a pair of good value Rockshox Yari 160mm forks with 35mm diameter stanchions and it feels a lot more plush and less wobbly. The fork crown height appears to be the same so it has not changed the geometry, keeping the same head angle which is a shame as I would have liked it to have been slacker. Mostly smooth riding where I live so I get on very well with Maxxis Minion semi slick tyres at 2.35 which must also help out with the battery range. Flip chip set to high to avoid pedal strikes on the deep ruts locally.
My setup is the same one @7:10 the bottom bracket is always a problem especially if your pressures drop at all, plus your riding the edge of your sag. Im gonna do the 2.8's and see how much of a difference it makes.
Mine is stock except for 160mm grip 2 fork. Before I start throwing money at it I'm going to get a 2nd levo, I have a carbon expert now that one for longer tamer trails. Next one will be aluminum comp and set up for pure rowdy, x2 shock, zeb or 38, and maybe a mullet with 170 or 180 up front?
I've had every Levo and Kenevo, my favorite now is my carbon lightened Levo with a 180mm ultimate Lyric with a DPX2 2.5 inch travel giving 173mm rear 27.5 -35 ID wheels 2.8 DHF on both ends.chip in high position, on a large. It gave me a 13.6mm bottom bracket height. the bike works great. 44.5 LBs with a 500 WH battery. But, you can be happy on any set up, its mostly a bunch of trade offs, just ride it.
Is that a 2020? Just bought a 2021 Comp and it has a 160mm Fox 36. Just curious if I will have the same changes as you’ve pointed out. Frame didn’t change I don’t think between the two models.
Just talked to my LBS today. They said that changing from a 29 to a 27.5 rear would void warranty. Kinda funny as a smaller wheel diameter would put less forces on the triangle... 2021 turbo levo.
So on their website it says head tube angle is 66. Are they listing the high position? Since I noticed you said 65.5 HA in the low. Mine came in the low.
Cool that you tried all these different settings, that was pretty interesting. One thing I can't understand is why everyone mentions the bottom bracket height. A totally useless and irrelevant number that tells you exactly nothing. Yes, nothing. BB is the distance between the center of the crank arm and the ground, so what does it tell us? The relevant dimension is the ground clearance, not the BB height. Does that make sense? And, though Specialized says the BB height is 347.5mm it isn't. Measure it and you will see it is about 6.6mm less. But that doesn't play a role anyway. One of the very few weak points of the Levo is that the ground clearance is indeed very low, about (depending on tires) 264mm with the chip in high. For comparison, a 2019 Trek Powerfly LT7 with the Flip Chip in the low position has significantly more ground clearance at 274mm. Assuming the cranks are the same length, this means a pedal stroke on the Levo when there is still 10mm space on the Trek. You may ask why I compare a 21 Levo with a 19 Powerfly, well these are the bikes I currently own. In a nutshell why the hell is everyone referring to a useless dimension? I really would prefer to see the ground clearance as this is something that is of importance for every rider...
I'm still experimenting on my 2020 Kenevo. I've changed it to a Mullet going from 180 Boxxer 27.5 with 42mm offset to a 180mm Lyrik 29er with 41mm offset. The BB height increased 15mm, which I acually like but the HA changed to 62.5° which I think is a bit much. It seems to ride great and looks menacing seeing most of the front wheel out front. I'm tempted to drop toa 170mm front but not sure about running a shorter stroke front to rear, seems wrong. One things for sure I now know I want to run a 29er front, the way it goes down the sort of trails I ride (FOD, Steep, rooty rocky off piste local built stuff) is incredible. Just need to find the right balance. I love experimenting. Just wish It was a touch cheaper! Anyone else done/doing something similar it'd be good to hear your results.
Time to stop all this mm here, 1° there, makes a radical difference. Eating an extra pie or leaning back or forward a bit on the bike makes just as much difference. Your suspension is constantly moving through its stroke so bb hight is out the window straight away. As fore 27.5 vs 29" the contact point and actual rolling angle at ground level is arguably unnoticeable. Just buy a bike, ride it, get used to it and enjoy it. P.s. there was nothing wrong with 26".
At no point does Steve 'tell' anyone to make these changes to their bike, he is simply demonstrating to those who own a Turbo Levo that there are alternative settings that owners might want to consider tinkering with? If you ride a lot, you'll notice these changes for sure, I noticed a significant difference to way my bike feels changing my stem from 50mm to 40mm, but then I'm a sensitive being! As for your comment regarding 26" wheels, who says it's 'wrong'??? I think you'll find a huge percentage of riders (like most), will agree 27.5 and 29 inch wheels are just better then 26!
29 assagai 2.5 rear, gives just the right amount of clearance, 29 2.6 minion on the front, flip chip low on my size L Levo comp. I am thinking of upgrading the internals on my Lyrik forks to 160, has anyone done this?
it would have been nice to check how wide can you go on tires, 2.8 seems to be the norm these days but 3.0 is a grey area matter. Bike shops say no, experts online say yes BUT if you completely change the front and rear suspension components, right?!

specialized : one of my friend had one, had two full change of Brose engine with four weeks of loss of joyness, mecanical breakage of inside engine carbon belt, rear triangle break, redundant bluetooth errors, zero dashboard, quasi non removable battery or disposable by returning the bike under the engine. near God fab boring marketing. Spe Levo persons frequently considering themselves as Jupiter children's.
they know that their 2019-2020 motors have problems but they give 5 years waranty on the motor too because of that. No other company does that. not sayin that broken motors doesnt suck. but atleast they adress it properly which also one could expect by buying a boutique overprized bike.

That's the way I like emtb.
Yes, but it’s fixed quickly. On my third engine now and both swapped in 5 days. My LBS says they’ve stopped breaking too and the 5 yr warranty is reassuring, even if there might be a ‘debate’ at, say, 4.5 yrs. It’s a fantastic bike, so good, the engine probs didn’t upset me much. However, resale values are likely to be low IMHO, despite that long warranty 🙄

I've also heard that they are bringing out an oval wheel that is 26" 27.5" and 29" to get people to STFU about wheel sizes!

The 2021 has a 160mm fork. And 2.6 tire up front and 2.3 i the back so it's a little bit different already than the "old" one

I ordered 2.7 but got 3.0 by mistake. But it doesn’t fit in the rear so now I have it in the front of my Levo.
