Some friends of mine camped in Francorchamps starting two days before the race. The campgrounds on race morning looked like the snow pictures you see from Battle of The Bulge. Then the weather changes another 3 times. Thats why I love this race track. The entire region is really special.
I was in Francorchamps ELMS 2018, a very rainy race, the quantity of accidents was insane. They red flagged the race at half. No doubt the skills of WEC pilots is in another level compared to ELMS.
@@argilaga I was at Spa during the race yesterday and I am amazed that there were no major incidents. The GTE battles before and after the 1st SC were incredible. Side by side down towards Eau Rouge / Raidillon in the pouring rain/snow.
@@argilaga Yeah the weather was crazy. From snowstorm to sun in a matter of 20mins. The only consistent part was that it was quite cold throughout. I think it shows that the supplied tyres are very versatile and in combination with good drivers, enable great racing.
That's for Gte class. Porsche, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Bmw, Ford and part time Corvette, all factory team. In Lmp manufacturers world championship don't exist anymore, only driver and team

Because the major money maker for WEC is the app, where you pay some money to watch the race and you can rewatch it immediately afterwards. The full race will be uploaded in 3-4 weeks
Absolutely. It is not safe to race in treacherous weather conditions. #WEC Race director, right call at the right place at the right time. Safety comes first
It's possible but WEC hates fans so they don't do it. They have a pay wall and an app they want you to use, but even if you want to do that you'll probably be region blocked.
UK Racer the majority of people aren’t going to pay extra money to watch a racing series that doesn’t even produce good racing. IMSA is all around a better series. That race yesterday at Mid Ohio was so much better than any WEC race.

Porsche n' Audi are the biggest loser in racing world just because they stay when they stil can win. When there is a competition for their superiority the bail out of it. That's why they never join F1
Don't worry, there is a clause in the contract between Toyota and WEC saying that no other LMP1 team can perform better than Toyota, and another clause in Alonso's contract with Toyota saying that the car #8 wins at least one LeMans and the Superseason.

Toyota racing themselves for a championship is a joke. If Porsche and Audi were there it would be worthwhile but they are not so Toyota wins shouldn't even be mention except by comedians.
Being a Japanese name has nothing to do with it, racing is an international sport. My comment would apply to any team being alone in LMP1 class for a season.
Well, they learned from the best, Audi had the same thing at Le Mans between 2000 and 2007. Still, let's hope the upcoming changes attract more interest from manufacturers.

Racers are nice in Rallycross or Drift kind of racing, but here on track not quite.

I think it's good. I hope now FIA will learn from this to make LM hypercar work. LMP1 in its current form is not profitable anymore it seems.
