      No. Another half ready layer is not making anything better. They need a real revolutionary begin of design again and declare Java/Kotlin/JVM as legacy. NDK/C++17 would make it easy.

      @@nadeemshaikh7863 NOOOOOOOOO. Not Javascript, the other direction. Webapps are easy to code but terrible in almost all useability aspects. Native Apps with full back to metal low level performance and multithreading.

    Why do speakers insist on vocalizing their life story and the `history of computers`, or `history of android` at beginning of such talks? As if any of that is applicable to what android devs are doing in 2019 and beyond....

      I personally think the history of android is crucial to let developers to understand where are they coming from. The solutions they are presenting are to solve the problems they faced in the past. Understand the underlying reasons and history helps developers to know the technology not only on the usage aspect but masters the design aspect. This further allows developers to participant in future design and improve the technologies together.

      you may use any text editor to develop for Android, but for the best developer experience, you should use Android studio since it is developed for creating Android apps.

      I have always wanted there to be a separate IDE as an alternative. But the moment Google moved the SDK manager tools into Android Studio, I knew it was never going to happen.

      It's not the IDE it's the workflow and the very complex gradle that makes Android Studio difficult but it's much easier to learn then the crazy Android frameworks.

    Andriod really needs to work on it security features for there customer and needs to have vidoe tuterails so people know how to use the product plus they need to do check ups on there staff and developers making sure there not doing illegal stuff to others

    Please do ram management well!!!! Google it's real bad in the pixel 4 having 6gb RAM. My galaxy note 8 with 6gb ram has way better management.

    Why are you puting more restrictions to android like you cannot that, you need to do or use this to do that. This is a typical story that in the future something else will replace android, opensource and free to develop with few restrictions.

      In my opinion, it is depends on what you want to achieve with the technologies. As a developer, it always good to be polyglot, you have better market value. As a start up tech entrepreneur, you might prefer flutter because it has lower development costs and greater platforms reach.

    Compose is stupid. Designing the ui in code is just confusing, it is much cleaner to do that with the designer and xml and separate the design from code. Compose also makes the activity and fragments god classes and pollutes them with view logic. XML is already declarative, why make it harder by doing it through code.

    This is ridiculous, after 10 years of working with java now everyone must learn a new language(Kotlin) ? give me a break! I have 3 millions lines of Java code to maintain and zero time to learn Kotlin which is actually slower that java. Why don't you advise people to simply use OpenJDK instead jamming Kotlin on our throat?
