  • Testing out my new Nokia 8 video capabilities and the Nokia OZO audio technology in the phone. I gotta say I was impressed. The audio the phone captured is EXACTLY how it sounded in real life.

It amazes me how planes like these can fly for hours on end often back to back without the engines ever getting tired or overheating. Also sometimes takes me by surprise when the plane goes from taxiing speed to take off speed and you're pushed back into your seat, i miss flying

I agree. They’re real feats of engineering aren’t they!

I've been busy but I did a short test video in low-light after a snowfall we had here. I'll post it up soon. Thanks for watching!

Globetrekker Aviation looking forward to watch it! Tell me please, I noticed you used to have the Nokia lumia as well on another video, between the older lumia and the newer Nokia 8 which one of them captured the audio in more detail please? Thanks a lot again

Emmanuel Wynkoop Do you mean the Lumia 1020? Or the more recent Lumia 950? The Nokia 8 captures more realistic audio than both of them, however the Lumia 950 wasn't far behind. The OZO does make a difference. Only issue is it can be a bit sensitive to wind noise.

Globetrekker Aviation thank you again this information is very valuable for me I appreciate it! I read that the Nokia 8 microphones clip when recording very loud noises and that the microphones can quite easily get saturated with sound and then clip again do you have similar experience please or whenever you got to record you managed to preserve the full spectrum of the original sound without clipping? Thanks again!

Emmanuel Wynkoop So far I haven't any sound clipping. The video above with the aircraft was in a pretty loud environment and it recorded the audio accurately. I haven't been to a concert or anything with it though. I might try to get some outside aircraft engine sound (super loud) recordings to test it next time I'm at work

What is the pin that is removed from the landing gear (with the red tag) just before disconnecting the wire for the comms?
