TVJ needs to report on the 25km they haven’t even started fixing from Leith Hall to Portland Parish. At this speed it will take until 2050 to finish the coastal road improvement project. Report about that too please.

At least they can see the failings of the government. It was the people of St.Thomas who brought about the freedoms we enjoy today, from their protests and the rebellion of 1865. So who is the never see come see? The people of Jamaica have a democratic right to express dissatisfaction with any of the governments of Jamaica, through protest and speech. Monies was applied for and granted for the St.Thomas road, which has been neglected for many years, however the funding was reallocated by the present administration elsewhere, for whatever political reasons given. The government gave the reassurance to the people of St.Thomas that the road will be repaired. I will assume, what has happened now is that the contractors working on the road have not been paid as agreed with the government and hence this has slowed down the works considerably. Leaving the road in a worse condition than it was before the road works started. Road works on the north coast did not take this long. For almost 3 years the people of StThomas, business people and others have suffered considerable economic loss. I hope you can see now. And I hope the government shows they care about the plight of the St.Thomas people???
The new road that the Government giving them ,also the development of the parish that's coming, what Fenton Ferguson did for them , he was the mp for over 30yrs he did nothing and the people kept voting for him , just to show they don't know anything good

St.Thomas has contributed to the economies of Jamaica and Europe before and after independence and no reparations, even though many lives were lost in St.Thomas in 1865 and before, in the rebellions of the east, for the freedoms we enjoy today. When governments have applied for funding over the years for 14 parishes, on the arrival of the funds the distribution has only gone to a few parishes, leaving St.Thomas out of the picture. The prevelant colonial mindset in the country today was adapted from the colonial masters, by our own people, our representatives who has only served to discriminated against the people and the parish of St.Thomas, because of their fight, the rebellions for our rights and freedoms as human beings. As the colonial masters lost their privileges, in vexation and hatred they installed a system of institutional and systemic discrimination against the people of St.Thomas, which still stands today. The people of St.Thomas know good things, as they have provided for themselves over the years, but they value freedom and liberty above all else. But respect is due to the people of St.Thomas for enduring so much for so long. Note: Have the contractors been paid? I'm not against blocking the road but why do it when school open.
